When fifteen-year-old Derek Robertson asks his friend Grayson Wingate to help him commit burglary, both boys see it as a daring adventure. The reality, however, brings the possibility of dire consequences. The crime is easily solved, and now both boys face jail time.
When Grayson’s mother hires Jack Turner to defend her son, Jack realizes the root of Grayson’s bad choices grow from his need for attention from his neglectful, wealthy parents, much like Jack’s own problems as a young teen. Jack manages to negotiate a plea for both boys that he feels will help them considerably more than time in a local juvenile prison.
Meanwhile, Derek’s girlfriend, Scarlett Shandley, is having problems of her own with her parents, who are also too self-absorbed to see that their daughter needs love more than anything else.
When one of the boys makes another bad decision, all their lives change forever.
Read the sixth book in the series that many readers claim is one of the best ever!
So happy to read this book but so sad that the series has ended. I have enjoyed being part of Jack Turners journey and have grown with him in many ways. Kindness is such a powerful word and that is what this series has shared with me and hopefully the millions who have had the opportunity to indulged in these adventures of sadness, love and hope.
The entire “Twigs” series so very well written! Wonderful and engaging storylines! The characters seem like real people with faults and foibles as well as hopes and dreams. I highly recommend this book and the whole series!
I always enjoy Mr. Tab's books. They are thoughtfully written, and I believe everyone can learn from them. My childhood was certainly not a fairy tale, so I identify easily with his stories. I was adopted as a baby, and my parents had a child of their own. I was often reminded how much I owed them for taking me in. Life was hard, and I was often confused. I believe I survived because God was with me. I hope to read more of Mr. Tab's books. I highly recommend them.ends them.
All the books in this series tugged at my heart strings. Great life lessons learned and I enjoyed every stage of Jack Turner's life. I feel he's too young for retirement, but I understand it. I recommend this series for anyone looking at great read. Enjoy!!!!
I loved this book just like all the others in the series. I liked the story line, the characters, the way problems were worked out in a wholesome way, and no profanity. I love the way Charles Tabb writes and recommend this book and all others in the series.
Twigs are fragile and easily break until nourished with love.
I have read the twigs series, the characters are real and like family. HOPE is the theme, the solutions though simplified are not far fetched and the problems very real. All parents will enjoy these short reads.
