Join Clémence and her friends as they solve murder cases, bake French pastries, and fall in love in the City of Lights.
This wasn't one of my favorite installments - it seemed like a chunk of time was missing at a pivotal plot point. I thought my Kindle version was missing a chapter but it looks like other readers felt the same. I really enjoy the other Patisserie Mysteries and the next in the series was much better.
This 4th installment was a let down. Just when things got interesting in the plot, a chunk of time is skipped, and it never mentions how the events played out. I'm really hoping the recipes aren't missing some key ingredients as well.
Ashley Adams is in Paris with her boyfriend, Serge. Things couldn't be better until the police accuse Ashley of being a computer hacker and stealing almost a million Euros! What a shock to Ashley to find out that Serge left her behind to take the blame of his illegal activities!! Now Ashley has to prove she didn't it. She goes to work in a cafe with Patty LaFontaine. Then a crepe vendor is found dead and Patty is accused of the murder. Now Patty has her hands full clearing not just her name but Patty's also. Can she do it? It's going to take everything Ashley has to prove not just her innocence but Patty's also. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Fabulous. The cover is my personal favourite in the series. The plot was pretty good, although it seemed like there would be no murder this time. As usual, everything was executed quickly and efficiently. I like this series because it's witty and modern, and this sequel was no exception.
I love all of Harper Lins books but I swear this one felt like it was missing an entire chapter between 14 and 15. I am left trying to imagine what happened in between. Other than that I really enjoyed this installment.
This forth of the series did not come up to the standard of the first three. It felt a bit rushed and under developed. It was disappointing after the first three.
If you’ve read the first three books you would know that Clémence has dealt with murders since she has returned back to Paris. Book number four gives a little twist when instead of murder a Parisian socialite goes missing.
Overall this book was ok. Toward the end of the book, it felt like there was a chapter missing between the 14th and 15th chapter and it was wrapped up really quick. Other than those minor issues, the book was descent and I love the Paris setting.
