Ghosted

Rate this book
Banishing vengeful spirits from the mortal realm is Holly’s day job, but she’s never had to ghost anyone before – until Callum breaks her heart, making her wish she could exorcise her ex from her life.

It’s been two years since professional ghost-whisperer Holly Daniels ghosted Callum Jefferies – successful paranormal podcast host, unsuccessful boyfriend. So when he reaches out asking for her help investigating the infamous East Mill haunted house, Holly is hesitant to get involved, despite his infuriating charm. But the house in question calls to her, and she can’t resist.

When they arrive in East Mill – and take up adjoining rooms at a rundown bed and breakfast – something in the air stirs up old feelings. If only the local ghosts would give Holly some peace and quiet to work out what those feelings are…

As their investigation unfolds, Holly and Callum unearth a string of mysterious deaths linked to the house – one of which is bound up with East Mill’s very own seventeenth-century witch trials. But Callum is hiding something, and as disturbing details emerge about the family who once occupied the house, Holly realises she will have to put her life – and her psychic powers – on the line if she and Callum are going to get out of East Mill alive.

Holy wow I did not anticipate how awesome this book was going to be! Thinking it was going to be a cute paranormal romance, and it’s a lot more intense and creepy, giving murder mystery vibes too. It was so damn good! And the narrator did so well! I could’ve read this in one sitting it was so good.

This was a “slow burn” but I didn’t even realise it with all the other stuff happening! I honestly was biting my nails at points! It was written incredibly! Holly and Callum have rocky history and then it’s a roller coaster of a time through the book! There is banter and corny sex jokes that had me cackling and then the next minute I’m on the edge of my seat and trying to figure out what is actually happening and who I can trust! Seriously loved this one!

I absolutely loved Amy's other books and having heard Amy personally speak about how much Ghosted means to her, I knew I had to read it. But if I'm honest, I was a bit nervous because I'm not into paranormal, fantasy etc, so I was worried I maybe wouldn't enjoy this. But boy was I wrong! I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, the characters, everything that was happening! So even if you're not typically into spooky ghost stories, I definitely recommend giving this one a read!

3.5 rounded up. I enjoyed this.
The vibes are like a Laurie Gilmore romance but make the protagonist a rosary holding Latin-speaking psychic and the romantic interest/almost Ex a ghost-hunter/famous YouTuber. This paranormal romance where the paranormal (ghost hunter) vibes were in the foreground for most of it, which I appreciated. I like the mystery, I was intrigued and wanted to keep reading, and the twist! I should have expected it. But was still surprised when it came along!
I rarely read horror/paranormal things, but I’ve found myself watching more of them lately…and not gonna lie I bought this book because of its adorable ghost sprayed edges!! I’ve become a sprayed edged whore, of late! Haha I can’t get enough, when I saw this one at Big W for less than $20 AND with sprayed edges I had to have it. And I started reading it on Halloween!
It’s a perfect spooky/ghostie halloweeny read with some spice to lighten the mood.
And the author is Australian, which as an Aussie myself, I appreciate! Is Amy’s writing a bit cliche? Yes. Is it far from the elegant prose of say…Mary Shelley? Yes. But the characters were interesting and the plot/mystery was enjoyable and not too much spice/smut that it overshadowed the main plot.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s more of a spooky mystery with a little romance than a true romance novel.

Amazing story: I was so hooked to the story that I actually forgot about when my day started and when day ended.
It is a must read.

This is exactly what I needed to read for spooky season. A second chance romance between a FMC who can banish ghosts and a paranormal podcaster MMC who comes together for a case.

I liked the banter between the characters and the way the story flowed and kept me interested. I think this is the perfect spooky romcom for someone like me who actually doesn’t enjoy horror so much. Coming from a girl who enjoys fantasy all too much and barely touches any other genre, I’m so glad I read this book.

But like let’s get to the main favourite part of the book for me? The bloody sprayed edges! Could you seriously expect anyone to be able to walk away from such perfection?
