😅 I've read the Bible just not this specific Bible. I skimmed through the important parts I wanted to know were in there but I bought this specific one for my children. It has beautiful pictures in it but still covers all the bases and is easier for them to understand. I'm 38 years old and I still can't completely understand the King James Version even though I have one as well as the original 1611 version for cross reference for all my bibles. See I have three Bibles that are personally mine and that's not counting the family ones that have been passed down to me 😅
I was gifted my ESV version by my late Uncle who got sick of hearing the excuse that I couldn't read the Bible because I couldn't understand it and it took too much time to keep flipping back and forth which is why he had to buy an adult ESV as my main one to cross reference the 1611 edition bc truth be told I wasn't lying I got sick of looking in the back of the bible to figure out what the word I was reading meant when we as a society no longer use a majority of the words in it. The struggle was real 😂 but I am so grateful he did that. I will cherish it forever bc it's the only one I've ever actually read cover to cover and it was from him. TMI but it is what it is. I'm a guilty gabber. 😎

This was my childhood Bible, so maybe I'm biased, but it really has THE most beautiful illustrations. If you appreciate biblical art then this is the Bible for you (or your kids. I won't judge if you get one for yourself). It also features red text for the words of Jesus if that's your thing. The appendices at the end are thorough and easy for kids to understand, without being cheesy or overly juvenile.

The Bible begins with short essays on "The Bible, God's Message to Us," "What the Bible Says About Itself," and "How to Use the Bible."
My Thoughts:
I love Bibles. I love Bibles published for children (with illustrations.) I love Bibles published for adults (with no illustrations.) I love God's Word.

What I love about the ESV Children's Bible.
Matte pages.
The use of different colors for chapter number, page number, name of Bible book, and section headings.
Color illustrations with detail. The people have expressions on their faces (important to my visual type learning style.) I have taken the time to study many of the illustrations. As a child when I was in Sunday school the teacher held up a 10x13 illustration of the Bible story as she shared the story. Illustrations are important for children. I believe this adheres the story in memory.
The Bible lays open flat. I love books that open easily and stay open while on a table (so I don't have to force it.)
The print is easy to read.
Lastly, the solid word for word ESV translation.
