I absolutely devoured this book, as in I was up to 3am reading because I couldn’t put it down. The fmc Ember never lets her situation fully break her, her resilience is incredible against everything. It truly tore my heart out watching her fight her way back to herself and her son. Our mmcs, Jake, Killian, Ash and Jax, all bring a different dynamic to the book. As a why-choose, I really enjoyed how each mmc interacted with Ember in different ways and offering her the support and love. While we only get a glimpse of the mmcs growth, I know the second book in this duet will be the ending we need. Because that ending!

Wholly this book was deep. Gut wrenching sucking the soul out of you. Wow. Once I started I could not put it down. I absolutely love Ember and her men. Ember has gone through so much trauma and she still gets up and fights for what’s hers. A mother’s love is so powerful. Protective and all Mama Bear. This book is also about resilience, inner strength, personal growth. Becoming fearless. I absolutely loved this book. Can’t wait for book 2 of the duet. Really hope it comes soon. Will definitely read more books by Harlie Kay. If I’m not mistaken I think this is her debut novel. If it is I’m completely blown away. Just wow!!!

This book had me in suspense from the first chapter. It was dark, realistic and a tear-jerker. The author pulled on heart strings from the beginning. The resilience and bravery that the MC demonstrated with her will to live for 1 was painful to read about, but I had to know what happened with that person she lived for as well as the men she loved. I look forward to reading the next book!

I absolutely loved this book. It pulled at my heart strings and had me rooting for the FMC. This authorbhad me so engulfed into this book I could not put it down. I read it in 24 hours and whenni took a break inwas thinking about it, and rushing back to continue reading it. You must put this on your tbr.

This book has some of the most visceral descriptions I've ever read. It doesn't shy away from complicated or difficult topics. Instead, it embraces them. Sexy scenes and lovable characters, highly recommend.

inconsistent and the romance was only okay
The writing style of this book was excellent—very immersive, but certain details were inconsistent (or poorly explained) and for a dark romance the romance was almost non existent. Okay read overall but didn’t meet expectations.
