Sheriff Song is visited by a neighborhood busybody who reports every little thing. Mostly is just her loneliness but sometimes, she has something. Her neighbors seems to be missing. Usually she takes care of the mail & plants but this time, they just up and left. She senses something wrong.

After a welfare check on the couple, Song feels there's something off. The deeper she investigates, the more it looks like something untoward happened. There are virtually no clues but with the assistance of her undersheriff and her tech guru, they slowly find a few threads as to the whereabouts of the couple.

There are few suspects but Sheriff Song cracks the case.

and......finally the results of election for the next Sheriff and this alone bumps it up to 3.5 for ending this long drawn out drama.

A mystery with twists and turns

Elle Gray does not disappoint with another great mystery. Sheriff Spenser is not only trying to solve a murder, but she is trying to find the victim’s wife. The question is not only who killed the husband, but is the wife in on the murder or has she been kidnapped. This investigation also leads into a few different motives and keeps you guessing where it’s going to end. Also while investigating all of this, the Sheriff is up for re-election and wonders if she will still have a job when this is all over!

Excellent Book !

This was a awesome book. I’ve been reading this series since the beginning and this is one of the ones I’ve been waiting !! You can’t miss this one, if you have not read the Spencer Song series you should absolutely try it ! Elle Gray is an amazing author , her characters are amazing and she has several different series. A good one

It is not till the end of the book you find out who won the election. If you do not want to wait go to the blurb of the next book. I did, so I could pay attention to the mystery in this one. A married couple has vanished according to a neighbor. Song checks it out, bit is pretty sure they just did not tell the neighbor.

I have read all the previous 14 books in this series. Gray gets a little wordy at times, but this series is interesting.

Riveting

Spencer finds home at last, her life with Ryker, the job that she loves so much, her team that she cares for. This complicated case with its twists and turns, the election hanging over her head made her doubt herself, she wasn’t at her full 100% but they pulled through and won not only the election but also solved the case. I cannot wait for the next chapter in Spencer Songs life.

OMG!!!!!!! This book was amazing. So much was going on and Sheriff Song held it together. First she had to deal with the election, then she had to find a missing couple, that she wasn't even sure was missing. It was just crazy, I would not want that kind of stress, but she got all of the answers she needed. I can't wait to read the next book.

What a messed up family and sad that the business was gone. Seems like a greedy member of the family just taking off the books for no reason, just being lazy. Would have loved seen when Evan faced off with Rafe, can't forget Jacob seeing Mimi, and that she works with Blake. Sure hope she makes another appearance later on in one of your books. Had no doubt that Spencer would win!!!

Follow Your Gut

Sheriff Song, Amanda and Jacob are following every avenue available to find out what happened to the Tepins. Married couple, business owners, Church goers, school teacher and POOF, they just disappeared. This story is very engaging, keeps you on your toes and fun to read. Great job. Thank you.

Satisfying conclusion to the election storyline even though my morbid curiosity definitely wanted to know what Spenser's campaign manager dug up on Rafe. I always wonder if stories like this will rear up down the road. However, I am looking forward to seeing how the shift in her relationship with Ryker's father is highlighted in the next book.

When I read Elle Gray’s last book and it ended without the election results, I was so disappointed! I enjoyed this book so much, and not just because of the election results. The unraveling of Sam Turpin’s murder was very well crafted! I found it hard to put down when my domestic duties called!
