David Goldman captures the home spun humor and mannerisms that brought David Crockett fame while revealing his failure to get his land legislation passed and his falling out with the President over Andrew Jackson’s Indian Removal policy. His years in Congress are told from various viewpoints that reveal both his faults and his ambitions. The result is a totally unique portrayal of the legendary frontiersman.
