This book is very thorough on everything crocodylian from anatomy to paleontology to current ecology. That being said, I wouldn't particularly call it an accessible book for anyone not already strong enthusiasts. While the book says over and over again that certain things are "out of the scope" for the book, there is much that is super specific that isn't and isn't for the casual reader.

large crocodylomorphs seem like the worst possible laboratory animals. With the possible exception of Pasteur's rabid dogs

good, covers a lot of topics. Amazon is making me type words here to submit.. alligatoridae, tomistoma, gavialadae, crocodylilea, chomp!
