I just finished this book, and I know I'm going to need a few days to recover. Milena and Tazmin are toxically hott together... I freaking loved their dynamic! There was a domme/brat vibe thing happening, and I ate it up! The drama was the best kind - the "just one more chapter" kind! From beginning to end, this story hooks you and doesn't let go.

This is the longest book that I've read... and I want more! If you like dark sapphic mafia romances, then don't miss out on this one! I can't wait to read more from this author.

I’ll be the first one to say we should normalize talking about the stories we find on Wattpad/ao3 cause some of this is phenomenal storytelling and this included- I’ve liked this author for a while but she’s getting off of Wattpad so she can make money on her books so I was like you know what hell yeah I’ll buy the paper copy and it was great 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

"No Milena, all of that aside you mean more than she ever could to me and you have to know that. She's business but you're my future baby." - Tazmin (Case File 39, Page 521).
"If she disturbs your peace again then I'll truly kill her, Milena, I'll do life for you." - Tazmin (Case File 39, Page 521).

Online and Physical Version:

Where do I even begin writing the review? This book as a whole is amazing. I first read this book on Wattpad and to say I was very excited when I found out it got published was a major understatement. While this book tells the same story of Tazmin and Milena it was shortened compared to the online version. With this in mind, I do say that purchasing this book was something I do not regret despite it being a shorter version of their story. With the published version I consider it to be slightly different towards the end compared to the online version. So as a reader, I suggest reading the online version as well if you're interested knowing what else happens following the end of the published book and comparing the two. But I do say that there is a lot more development, angst, and plotlines that occurs more with the online version mainly because there are more chapters. Lastly, I think it's good for me to also mention a sequel to this book called "A Corrupted Christmas" that follows the story of one of Tazmin and Milena's daughters. I have not read it, but I suggest just because the author tells very good stories and does not disappoint or hold back.

My Review:

Moving aside from the physical and online version I want to discuss my thoughts and opinions on the book. Milena is a lawyer known for being hardworking, devoted, and loyal individual towards her family and friends. So devoted that she would do absolutely anything to ensure their happiness and putting their needs before her own. So, when her older sister Morana reaches out to her about Nadia (Milena's niece) needing to get into a private school Milena does not hesitate to find a way for her niece to get into the school. However, Milena soon finds out that children only get accepted through having a connection to Tazmin's gang. From here Milena gets an opportunity to do a job for Tazmin's gang but when she backs out last minute, she gets a surprise visit from Tazmin and her henchmen at her apartment. As a fulfillment and payment for not doing the job she has to sign an agreement with Tazmin. The only twist is that Milena hates Tazmin with all her wellbeing but overtime she soon begins to tolerate Tazmin, and she lowers the walls she built up following the death of her parents.

Tazmin is written as being a tough gang leader who happened to take the initiative to takeover following her father's retirement. This decision was made out of Tazmin's pure love and kindness to her older sister Gia, despite Tazmin being quite young when she first took over her father's gang. By the time she meets Milena, she finds her intriguing, utterly beautiful, and enchanting. The moment she officially has Milena sign an agreement with her; it was first done to prove a point to one of Milena's coworkers. But as time passes and the more the both of them get to know one another they both meet their families and become quite accustomed with interconnecting their lives as one. But as Tazmin's ex Adriana (who's an FBI agent) keeps getting in the way of their relationship blossoming into something more chaos ensues, the trust between the two becomes broken, and all hell breaks loose.

Overall, I love everything about this book. The writer does an amazing job at establishing Tazmin, Milena, and the other side characters so flawlessly that their relevancy in the story is quite important as the story progresses. While I prefer reading the online version more due to it being much longer and adding on the additional plot the physical version is entirely the same story just shortened at the end due to page limitation. I heavily suggest reading both versions if you're interested in angst, action, and spicy moments!

📘 Corrupted by Weekendlust

She’s a lawyer with morals—until Tazmin makes her break every single one.

Tropes:
🔥 Dark romance / criminal underworld
🔥 Lawyer x gang leader
🔥 Power imbalance
🔥 Obsession / forced proximity

Milena is a defense lawyer trying to make partner—until one favor pulls her into Tazmin Moretti’s dangerous, powerful, and completely unrelenting world. What starts off professional spirals into obsession fast. Tazmin doesn’t just want help—she wants control.

Milena is strong-willed and doesn’t take shit from anyone but Tazmin pushes her to her limits—and then some. Their banter? Top tier. The chemistry? 🔥 Tazmin’s dominance collides with Milena’s resistance in the hottest way. And the spice? Intense, delicious, and full of power play. Their relationship is toxic as hell but so hot.

I’m trying not to turn this review into a full-blown essay because I could talk about this book forever. It’s that good. Dark, sexy, and unhinged in the best possible way. If you love messy sapphic romances where no one comes out clean—read this immediately.

It plays out like a movie: lust, love, drama, violence, blood, heartbreak, jealousy—everything. 😮‍💨

📖 The book is only available in paperback right now (which I bought), but I read the full Wattpad version since I heard the paperback is shorter—it’s still a solid 666 pages 😳. The paperback doesn’t end badly at all, but a lot happens afterward that’s only on Wattpad, so I highly recommend checking that out too.

⚠️ Heads up: There are trigger warnings, so make sure to check those out before diving in.

This was a great story. Its long, a lot happens, and there are about a billion subplots, but the whole thing works. The thing I liked the most about this story was how many layers there were in both the plotline and especially the characters. There was a lot going on under the surface for both of our protagonists and there was plenty of page count to slowly peel back the layers and really dive deep into their complexities. It was fun, it was incredibly spicy, and surprisingly deep. I had a lot of little nitpicks about things that could have been done differently (like, a lot), but there was enough that I loved that I’m happy rounding this up to full-stars for the overall experience.

Nadia is one of the best book characters to exist. Fight me.

I will say dear reader that the first section is incredibly dumb, but once you get past it and into the story things are a lot better. Just cringe a little and know that things will start to make sense quickly and the story will flow.

Note: I read the online version of this story and not the published novel, but talking with someone who has read both I have been assured that they are similar enough that my opinions wouldn’t be changed. Ill probably be picking up the physical book sometime soon and see for myself!

this took me SO long to finish but im SO happy i did it. it was so worth it. god, i love them so much. milena could be a bit childish at times and their miscommunication killed me (just like im going to kill gia and aisha when i get my hands on them). so sad i'll never be able to reread it though since the author decided to move most chapters over to patreon and now i'll have to pay if i want to read it again💔 hate this but whatever makes money i guess

Overall a really great read, the dynamic between mileena and tazmin is executed perfectly. But the ending was a bit confusing due to things being mentioned that happened but didn’t happen? That would be my only “bad” thing about the book
