'I'm not going to tell you that everything happens for a reason. Those words are cold comfort in any traumatic moment. This is what I will say, I see you. I hear you. I am with you.'
Growing up on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Chloe Chapman thought her life would unfold close to home, surrounded by childhood friends and familiar shores. But on a spontaneous girls' trip to Bali, she met pro-surfer Paul Fisher - and everything changed. The connection was instant, and together they embarked on a whirlwind life of love, travel and building their dream careers.
As Paul's success as DJ Fisher exploded, life looked golden. However, behind the scenes, Chloe carried a quiet all she ever wanted was to be a mum. But her journey to motherhood was anything but smooth - it was a rollercoaster of juggling life on tour with fertility struggles and heartbreak. Through it all, she found power in vulnerability, purpose in storytelling, and strength in community, which she now shares through her Darling, Shine! podcast and beyond.
Always You is more than a memoir - it's the handbook Chloe wishes she had to help her heal. Alongside her honest, heartfelt story are breakout sections filled with guidance, reflections, and tools for anyone navigating fertility, grief or uncertainty. Whether you're in the depths of trying to conceive, supporting someone who is or simply searching for hope - this book is for you.
Because one day, you'll look back and whisper to the one who made it all worthwhile . . . It was always you.
It’s hard to criticise a book where the author is so open about the worst experience of her life. Her relentlessness is inspiring but her lifestyle and financial capacity is only true to 1% of us.
Just finished and I loved every bit of this book. So honest, real and beautifully written. I felt every part of her story. From IVF to pregnancy, friendships and life, Chloe shares it all with so much heart. Such a special read. 🤍🥹
I don't normally rate memoirs with stars because it doesn't feel right rating someone's lived experience but definitely worth a read this one!
Highly recommend listening to this on audiobook! Learnt so much more about Chloe’s experiences with fertility issues and their life. It made me laugh, cry and love this “modern” family even more.
Listened as a Audiobook. I was aware of Chloe’s story over the years but not the full version of her fertility struggles and what she went through, this is a very honest and open portrayal of the sad fertility journey she went on as a realistic account of what the early motherhood days are like. I think her information and advice would be helpful for those in a similar situation
A raw and honest story even though I already knew the ending. Though it wasn’t the most intelligible writing, easy to read just like an elongated podcast.
after being reccomended this I never thought I’d be crying within the first three pages… but here we are, brimming with emotion.
Chloe’s resilience in the face of heartbreak. The way she bears grief, loss, hope, and even fleeting moments of joy all at once, it’s raw, it’s real, and it hits you straight in the guts. It’s a powerful reminder of what “it takes a village” truly means, not just the warm and fuzzy notion, but the gritty, unshakeable love that’s worn on the sleeve, the kind that stands firm through the mess.
Following her journey, especially that aching, desperate yearning for something just out of reach, it tore at me. It captured that silent, burning hope that exists alongside the deep ache of longing. That quiet desperation that refuses to die, even when everything seems to be against you.
Loved this - anyone who follows Chloe knows about her journey to a baby but this book gave a more in-depth perspective. Full of emotion and loved how it was written like you would expect her to talk. Easy read but did cry twice in public
Wow that was such an emotional and inspiring read. I think I cried every chapter of this book as it hit so hard for me. Gave me so much hope and to trust in the process because everything is as it should be ✨ ❤️
I am so so happy Chloe, Fisher and Bobbi got their happy ending ❤️❤️ Their journey was so rough, it broke my heart for all those suffering with their infertility journeys. I pray they all end as sweet as this one, although I know that is not the case. ❤️
I wasn’t going to bother reading Chloe’s books because I’ve been following her story all along. I was so surprised by how gripping the audiobook was! I completely binged it in two days. She had me equally in tears & stitches. I loved it & I recommend it to anyone with women in their lives!
4.5⭐️5😭 Give me a book about love, pain, grief and loss and i’m in tears. Only didn’t get 5 stars as I found the timeline so jumpy but what a good read! Ellidys story line again really got me
This is the best book I’ve ever read, it made me cry and made me so happy all at once. I felt validated of my own experiences and feelings from birth and postpartum. So much love for Chloe and Fish
