Pride Aside: A Father's Journey Through His Son's Addiction

Rate this book
Addiction is a disease. So is Cancer. Decades ago we whispered when speaking of a Cancer diagnosis. Today, through awareness, it is appalling to think there was ever a stigma attached to Cancer. Instead we are now vocal about Cancer, we seek answers, we seek cures, and we seek prayer. However, the stigma attached to the disease of Addiction is still very real. The diagnosis is still whispered. Pride Aside is one Father's attempt to be vocal, to share answers he has discovered, to share treatment experiences, and to share his family's need for prayer.

This book was recommended to me by my incredible support group and I thought it was so great that they are sharing their story of their journey through addiction with their son. So many people are alone, ashamed and hopeless while walking through this terrible disease with a loved one and this book helps to know they are not alone and gives them Hope. I highly recommend everyone whether or not you have addiction in your family to read this book. We all need to become more educated on this terrible growing disease. Maybe then we could do something to help alleviate it.
