LIFE AIN'T F.A.I.R: Book 1 'Falling Apart'

Rate this book
“And we know that in all things, God works for the good…” – Romans 8:28 NIV

Life doesn’t come with a manual—but it does come with a Master.
In Called by Purpose, the author shares a powerful and deeply personal testimony of growing up immersed in Christian teachings, only to drift away from the faith as life’s temptations and trials took hold. From youth revivals to rebellious adulthood, from feeding the community’s children to fighting for justice, this raw and transparent journey shows how God’s calling is relentless, transformative, and always on time.

Despite moments of doubt, distance, and disobedience, God never stopped working behind the scenes. Through personal heartbreak, setbacks, and divine redirection, the author came to understand that what once felt like punishment was really preparation for a greater purpose.

This book is for anyone who has felt lost, overlooked, or unworthy of God’s love. It’s a reminder that no matter how far you stray, your calling will always find you.

If you’ve ever questioned your faith, struggled with your purpose, or wondered if God still has a plan for you—this book is for you.

This book intrigued me because I thought it would be a rags to riches story with local flavor; however, I was wrong. It’s more of a rise and fall with a promising comeback. Unless one is familiar with the lifestyles associated with Gentlemen’s clubs, it’s easy to dismiss all involved as sinful denizens. Bishop’s portrayal of herself and her extremely loyal customers is eye-opening. She skips over details of any debauchery to examine some noble qualities in dancers, customers, managers, and staff.
The fall from easy money to living out of her car is meteoric and tests Bishop’s faith to the end. This is riveting, but my complaint is that I have to read another book to find out more.
