PERSETTA

Lost until HIM
I thought the night fate brought us together was the worst night of my life.
I was wrong.
Blinded and with no memory, how was I supposed to know any better?
He’s cold-blooded, cunning, and dangerous—the head of the French mafia.
He’s everything I shouldn’t want in a man, but I do.
For my safety, I have to seduce him.
Instead, with every threat, he’s the one who draws me further into his web.
It’s so easy to fall into his arms as my demons slowly release from their cages.
I feel safe with him.
Until I remember the truth.

ADRIEN

Broken until HER
I walled off my shredded soul and black heart long ago.
No one ever gets in anymore, and yet my guard lowered for her.
She stole away on my boat, injured and with no memories.
The only clue to who she once was—a tattoo on her calf.
This woman. She’s my past. My present. My future.
The one who got away, in more than one sense.
Years ago, I broke our families’ alliance and turned my back on her.
Last night, I was hired to kill her.
My little survivor. My butterfly. If only I recognized her…

I love a messy, drama-filled Dark Mafia Romance, and Addy Anders’ Blind Devotion checks the boxes. Adrien is a scared MMC with quite the dark past, and Tessa is a blind FMC with amnesia who suffers from an unfortunate circumstance. Their situation collides and places the two characters together, only to discover they share a past. But she doesn’t remember.

Adrien’s intent for Tessa clearly shifts from the beginning. The story develops into more of a romance as it goes from memories of their childhood together to a fairly fast-paced, action-filled story. Adrien’s character is established well as the hardened, emotionless mafia guy, but certainly, his icy exterior melts just for Tessa. I liked this as well as the spicy scenes, which there were several. Blind Devotion was an entertaining read, and I got a sense that there may be more with the other characters mentioned for a series.

Thank you to Author Addy Anders for the gifted e-copy of Blind Devotion. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

"Fuiste mi luz en la oscuridad cuando solo éramos unos críos. Mi faro en el mar desde que te reencontré. Siempre has sido tú. Nadie más. No hay vuelta atrás para mí. Ya no. Nunca más"
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Holy. Emotion. Train. Blind Devotion is messy, magnetic, and deliciously dangerous, the kind of book that makes you slow your breathing at certain scenes and then sprint through others. Persetta (fragile, fierce, and achingly real) wakes up with no memory and a tattoo that’s the only thread to a life she doesn’t remember. Adrien (cold, lethal, and quietly wrecked) is the French mafia kingpin who was hired to kill her and somehow becomes the only man she can trust.

I loved how Addy Anders toys with power and vulnerability: Persetta “must” seduce Adrien for safety, but the seduction becomes mutual undoing. Watching their dynamic flip from predator/protector to something softer and far more dangerous, felt inevitable and earned. The prose pulls you into the salt-sting of the sea, the grit of buried histories, and the electric hush of two people who should destroy each other but instead keep circling closer.

A few things that stuck with me: the moral grey of Adrien (he’s devastatingly human beneath that armor), the slow-burn pull between them, and the gut-punch reveal that reshapes everything. If you crave obsession + secrets + forbidden heat with emotional stakes, this will scratch that itch.

Why four stars? Because while the tension and atmosphere are perfect, a couple of pacing beats near the climax could’ve used a touch more room to breathe for maximum gut-wrench.

Huge thanks to NetGalley and Flecha Escrita Ediciones for the ARC of Blind Devotion (Letters of Ruin #1).

This book was dark, intense and surprisingly emotional. It mixes mafia politics, lost love, and trauma recovery ... all through the story of Persetta, a blind heroine who’s been through absolute hell but refuses to let it define her.

When she ends up on Adrien’s boat (the same man who once betrayed her ...shocking! right? ^^) everything explodes. Adrien is the head of the French mafia, cold and violent, but when he realizes who she is, the façade cracks. He’s torn between guilt, protectiveness and the darker parts of himself that won’t let her go again.

I really liked how Persetta’s blindness wasn’t used as a weakness. She’s strong, self-reliant and sharp; and seeing Adrien adapt around her (learning braille, changing his habits, actually listening to her) was a nice touch.

The pacing gets messy in places, some timeline jumps were confusing and a few reveals felt like they needed more breathing room ... but overall, the story is not bad or too messy.

The grovel could’ve gone deeper; I felt that Adrien’s guilt and redemption arc weren't that strong and after everything she’d suffered, I wanted him to work for it a little more.

Still, this was a solid, dark, romantic debut ... full of chemistry, tension and emotion. It ends with closure but leaves just enough open for the next book, which I’ll definitely be waiting for.

I really enjoyed this book, the only thing that is a bit funny for me is that she’s blind and this book is called BLIND DEVOTION? Way to play on words here. It’s actually a quite interesting mafia romance, he’s a vigilante to an extent and finds her on a boat full of human traffickers and their captives. He saves her (only her, yes I said vigilante to an extent because he killed the other captives on the boat). She’s lost her memory and he definitely has some sort of selective memory.Because my one and maybe only peeve about this book is that HOW THE HECK DID HE NOT RECOGNISE HER??!! Like yes she changed her hair and she had a lot of scars but you would know what your childhood best friend looked like. They have a very complicated history and it’s very very angsty, I was on the verge of tears. Despite not realising their history, they can’t deny the heated chemistry between them. And I’m such a sucker for the “he hates everyone but her” trope, especially if he can’t stand touch unless it’s her. The plot was really intense, mostly romance based at first with great hate to love vibes, but then it turned angsty as we dive into their deep history. The plot twists were good, and I couldn’t predict most of them and it lead up to quite an ending. I just think we kind of skipped some of the mental process here though, it felt like she got over what happened to her rather quickly after she remembered what happened. Apart from this I really liked this book and I give it a 5/5

Okay, this book completely consumed me. From the very first chapter, I was pulled into Persetta and Adrien’s world, and honestly, I couldn’t put it down. It’s dark, it’s dangerous, but at the same time, it’s achingly emotional in a way only the best mafia romances can be.

Persetta’s character really stood out to me—she’s vulnerable, lost, and haunted, yet there’s this quiet strength in her that makes you root for her with every page. The way she struggles between fear and safety, between desire and truth, felt so raw and real. And then there’s Adrien—the cold, ruthless head of the French mafia, who has built walls around his heart but can’t resist her no matter how hard he tries. The dynamic between them is pure fire. It’s passion, it’s tension, it’s danger… and yet, underneath all of that, it’s also about trust and healing.

What I loved most is how their story wasn’t just about romance—it was about survival, about facing demons, and about two broken souls finding each other again against all odds. There were moments that made me hold my breath, moments that made my heart ache, and moments that had me swooning because of how intense their connection was. By the time I reached the end, I was completely invested in them, and I didn’t want to let go. The way the author wrote everything made it feel so real—the characters, their emotions, their story—everything was just perfect.

This book is the first in the Letters of Ruin series, and though it’s a standalone, it leaves you wanting more. I would recommend this book to everyone. Just go and read it💗

I received this book as an ARC
I devoured this book, in this book you follow Persetta and Adrien. A lot of things happens throughout the book and some would say there’s a lot of red flags, but the book is so well written that you almost don’t notice 😉
I love sassy Persetta and her spunk. I also love Adrien and his love for his “high school sweetheart” 😉
The only reason for 4,5 stars is the ending felt rushed, I wish it had more time and words but overall an absolutely amazing book. So if you like a second chance dark mafia romance with a very dark mmc except he loves her and an FMC who survives anything and everything with optimism this book is for you

Thank you netgalley for this ARC!
This book was dark, and emotional from the very first chapter! 🖤🔥
We meet Persetta, the FMC who wakes up injured, blind, and with no memory of her past. The only clue to who she is in the mysterious tattoo on her calf . Despite her trauma, she’s strong, resilient, and refuses to crumble. I really admired her maturity and strength
The MMC Adrien, the cold, ruthless head of the French mafia . Dangerous, morally grey, and emotionally closed off… but with a hidden connection to Persetta. Their reunion is tangled with forced proximity, secrets, and undeniable chemistry 🔥. He’s jagged, intense, and constantly torn between protecting her and destroying her.
What I loved most:
1. The forced proximity trope added great tension—I felt their push and pull constantly.
2. The second-chance element made their romance more meaningful, since Adrien once had the chance to end her life but didn’t.
3. Persetta’s strength vs. Adrien’s cracks in his cold exterior gave their dynamic layers 🥀

Twists, secrets, and danger kept me turning the pages.

What didn’t fully work for me:
1.Adrien’s weird, sometimes confusing choices
2.The plot felt a bit rushed in places—certain reveals could’ve been drawn out more
3.Adrien constantly throwing around death threats toward Persetta took away from the romance and felt repetitive

✨ Overall:
Blind Devotion is a solid dark mafia romance with suspense and sharp-edged passion. If you love morally grey heroes, high-stakes drama, and second-chance intensity, this belongs on your TBR 📚.

ARC Review:

Super fast easy read!!! I honestly loved their relationship so much! If I'm going to be honest the flashbacks are what really got me, they were just so wholesome. This book did have me wanting to know more with Persetta and what happened with her. And then leading up to the plot twist never would have guessed it!! I will be reading the second one because how am I supposed to live not knowing what comes next after that cliffhanger.

My thoughts✨
I am so grateful for being able to receive the ARC of this book because I wouldn’t have been able to discover this gem and a talented author otherwise.

We get to see Persetta's memories coming back to her bits by bits along with the emotions she felt with them. We get to see Adrien's admiration for her and his strong will to protect her and not just desire. We get to see her strength despite the woman she was forced to turn into. We get to see his gentleness despite his darkness. Their connection was unbreakable even though they did not know each other for what fate had thrown towards them. Their patience, admiration, strength through it all, and above all, their love.

Their story touched my heart. The romance, the connection between the two of them and the way the author made them tell their stories was so beautiful (and spicy, of course), I would give anything just to read this for the first time again. The timespan could have been longer in my opinion. Nonetheless, it was one of the bests I've read this year. And I wish to read more from Addy Anders.

𝙈𝙔 𝙍𝙀𝙑𝙄𝙀𝙒:

I grabbed this as a read now & signed up for the promo through @greyspromo to try and satisfy my need for something spicy and brand new. I've been reading so many dark romances lately, I just can't get enough.

This one starts out with a crazy situation, and rich people behaving badly. The two worlds collide and it spirals into hate, lust, and familiarity between the MCs.

Will their secrets come to light before its too late. Will they be safe in the either, whether together or apart?

This one had an interesting story line  a bit tragic at times, but salacious all the less. I loved the heat between the MCs, but something felt lacking in the story. I really wanted more to make it an amazing read, however I did enjoy it.

- Blind FMC
- Childhood best friends
- Touch her and 💀

This debut novel had so much potential. After some investigation I discovered that Addy Anders has published three fantasy novels under a different pen name and that has explained a lot for me! The plot was very intricate and brought in a lot of action from multiple sides. The main flaw I found with this was the MMC as he was a lot darker than I would have expected for a morally grey man. By the end of the book he had grown on me, but I couldn't excuse his actions earlier on in the book.

On the other hand, Tessa was an icon and I loved her character because she felt so authentic. She stood out to me from a lot of other recent mafia romance FMCs as she had a backbone and made decisions that reflected the real world, which I loved.

This novel follows Tessa and Adrien who have an extensive past but are separated for a few years before reuniting after Tessa has an extremely traumatic experience which leaves her stranded on her own, blind and unsure of her world due to her amnesia. Over the course of the book we see their lives intertwine as they navigate their past and present together, while also following some of the blood feuds between the different mafia organisations.

The disability representation is this book seemed to be well researched and I appreciated the disclaimer at the beginning as it showed that Anders did really care about making sure that she was as informed as she could possibly be. It also provided statistics that readers can learn from and that is really important in the disabled community. There were frequent mentions of how her disability had evolved, helping to educate people on the reality of living with blindness and correcting common misunderstandings.

The spice in this book was quite heavy, which reflected the characters well, but was still relatively 'vanilla'. There were a few quotes which I did not like in the MMCs internal monologue as they felt dismissive of her trauma, but then later on in the book I much preferred how he handled her previous experiences. Tessa's reaction to her trauma was very interesting and broke the stigma that all SA victims are 'fragile' or 'broken', which we know is not true.

Overall I enjoyed the plot of this book and the FMC but the MMC brought it down for me. I read this book because I enjoy mafia romances and disability representation, which it definitely brings to the table well, so if those are your requirements for a good read, than this book is probably for you. Just please be warned that Adrien is not your usual morally grey man and that his actions are more reflective of the real life mafia, rather than the version we usually see in literature.

Happy reading lovelies x

"I can't lose you, Tessa." My lips burned into hers, marking their territory. "It's us or nothing at all."

Welcome back, my sweet, awful creatures! 🦇

After my last, quite literally, disappointing read, this ARC I was sent felt like a breath of fresh air! Considering I'm ovulating, this Mafia romance, even though the genre can be a hit or miss for me personally, was a hit!!!

Adrien, the son of a mafia boss, has control over everything. He’s cold-hearted, career-driven, and soulless. During one of his societal gatherings on a private ship, a woman, blind, scared, and suddenly unconscious, crawls out of the sea and onto his ship. Adrien would have gotten rid of her immediately; he didn't need trouble at the moment, if only she didn't mutter his name when he reached for her. How and why did she know his name? Why did he feel close to her? There was only one woman that made him feel this way, but she was buried within the past, and it should've stayed that way. What he didn’t know was that even the past could come back to life.

This book was everything a mafia romance should be! Allow me to elaborate.

First and foremost, I read this book in a day, and that is sooooo not something I do!! I'm a slow reader, as it takes me a while to get used to the new universe of the book I'm reading. So, this story was captivating and let itself be read smoothly. It made me crave more and more, to the point I didn’t realize how much I had read.

The MMC was dangerous, deranged, and traumatized to the brim, BUT he never ever used it as an excuse to hurt the FMC, which, unfortunately, is really rare within mafia/dark romances. When it came to the woman he loved, he never ever harmed her. (at least not on purpose.)

The FMC is FIRE!!! She's strong and fearless, which would make sense since she comes from a mafia family herself, and she'll talk back no matter what! The way she would challenge everyone, including her kidnappers, was inspiring. Her sudden blindness and how it affected her emotionally was written so beautifully and with so much depth. Representation was at its peak!

If you enjoy rough and dominating intimacy/smut, then you'll love the romance and smut represented in this book. It is respectful and consensual but at the same time gives you that kinky, dominating fantasy that makes us feminists feel ashamed while giggling and kicking our feet.

One negative thing I have to add is that it really bothered me how she could not figure out that he was her Adrien even though clues flew into her face from every side. Like he makes the same origami animals as the Adrien you were in love with… Girl, open your eyes!

Adrien and Persetta were made for each other in the most toxically romantic way. ❤️‍🔥

Thank you, Addy Anders, for the ARC copy; I loved it!

Until next time!

This dark mafia romance captivated me so much that I read it in one day. The plot is very well written and takes place in several time periods, including flashbacks to the protagonists' past. The story is emotional, brutal, and brims with suspense, danger, violence, a few twists, and spicy love scenes. Tessa is an incredibly strong, blind heroine who suffers from amnesia for a long time, and Adrien is a possessive, dominant, morally gray alpha hero who can't stand to be touched. The chemistry between them sizzled from the start, and I really liked their cat-and-mouse game and the way Tessa stood up to him. I enjoyed the flashbacks to their childhood together.

The tropes:

- Mafia romance
- Childhood friends to lovers
- Scarred and blind heroine
- Amnesia
- Grumpy-sunshine
- Soulmates
- Forced proximity
- It’s always been you

Adrien De Villier is the head of the French mafia and a hitman. He cold-bloodedly kills everyone on the yacht of a well-known human trafficker, but one of the passengers survives the massacre and, by chance, finds refuge on Adrien's yacht a few days later. He is determined to kill her too. He can't afford to leave any loose ends. But when the blind stranger touches him, he doesn't feel repulsed. Since being kidnapped as a child, Adrien has been unable to tolerate being touched by other people, with the exception of his childhood friend and ex-fiancée Persetta Ionelli, with whom he broke off contact years ago.
Persetta "Persy" Iannelli, aka Tessa, is a Californian mafia princess who has fallen into the hands of a human trafficker and can only escape her tormentors during a massacre on their yacht. But in doing so, she loses her sight and her memory. Tessa Tessa manages to save herself by climbing onto an unknown yacht. She feels safe and attracted to her involuntary savior, even though she knows he is a hitman who tries to kill her every night...

If you like gripping mafia romances with strong heroines, possessive anti-heroes, verbal sparring, tension, action and spice, you are sure to enjoy this book!

Thank you Addy Anders and Grey Promotion for the ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and left voluntarily.

4.5 ⭐️ Read
First I want to thank the author Addy Anders and BookSirens for giving me an ARC of this book 📖.
It took me a little bit to get in to the book but I ended up really enjoying reading it.
I felt sorry for what happened to Persetta and that she lost her sight in one eye and she also didn’t remember who she was so she called herself Tessa and when she did finally remember who she was she still wanted to be called Tessa. At First I wasn’t liking Adrien because he was supposed to killed her and he also broke her heart when they were younger, but getting into the book I fell in love with him and especially when he found out that she was the girl who he has loved all his life.
I loved the romance between Persetta and Adrien!!!💕💕💕 And I loved how he protected her in the book. I also loved the Nicknames that Adrien called her in this book.
I liked Adrien’s sister Alize and how she was with Persetta. I loved how brave and strong Persetta was and how she stood up to Adrien in this book. I also felt sorry for what happened to Persetta’s mother. I didn’t liked Persetta’s father and what he did to their family. I am glad Renzo got his sister back in this book. 📖 I didn’t like the bad guys in this book and what they did to Persetta.
I loved how Adrien learn how to play the piano because Persetta loved music and he wanted to play with and also for her. I loved how Persetta didn’t say yes to marry him in till he told her the truth. And I loved that he pulled strings to get her an audition at the Lyon National High Conservatory of Dance and Music and she got in to the school. And I loved how he wanted her to himself. And I was so happy that Adrien saved her and his sister and they finally got married at the end of the book. 📖 And I recommend this book and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Adrien is a man who had to sacrifice the great love of his life for decisions he believed were right, convinced they were the best for everyone. Over the years, he grew stronger, tougher, and also more lethal.
Persetta, on the other hand, is a woman who has lived surrounded by pain; she barely knew a ray of light in her life, and that ray had the face of the man she loved. But that same man left her behind, broken and wounded.

The wounds of the past, which should have been buried, return to mark this couple's present. However, as they say, when love is true, nothing can separate it. This is how Adrien and Persetta reunite in the midst of a dangerous situation, a scenario where, despite time and pain, their hearts continue to beat for each other with the same intensity.

I loved how the author constructed this reunion, and despite both carrying suffering, they both also long for what they lost and, even so, they fight to regain their love. But not everything is simple. Adrien must make decisions, even burn the world if necessary, to protect Persetta. Added to this is the weight of the secrets he keeps for fear of losing her. Persetta, however, realizes that there are secrets behind him that threaten her happiness, and so, together, they must face every obstacle to achieve their happily ever after.

What I enjoyed most was seeing the characters' evolution, Adrien giving himself completely, opening his heart, and Persetta accepting everything that entails. It wasn't an easy path, but in the end, they managed to experience the love they always dreamed of.

I'm really looking forward to reading the sequel and uncovering the mystery left behind by the ending, especially surrounding Enzo.

P.S.: For my first French mafia book, I must say I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Thanks to the author for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC ❤️❤️❤️❤️

A darkly addictive start to a series you’ll binge
4.25 ⭐ | 3.5 🌶️

Blind Devotion by Addy Anders is the kind of book that wraps you in silk and then yanks the rug out from under your feet, in the best way. It’s book one in the Letters of Ruin series, and if this is just the beginning, consider me officially hooked. What a debut novel.

This was my first time reading anything by Addy Anders, and now I completely understand the buzz. The writing is smooth, atmospheric, and emotionally charged without ever losing its edge. The story leans into the classic dark mafia romance setup but gives it a twist of vulnerability, tension, and deep-rooted history that makes it stand apart.

There’s something incredibly compelling about two characters tangled in a web of past and present, both emotionally wrecked in their own right, trying to survive each other. The fact that the MMC and FMC have a childhood connection adds a beautifully layered complexity to their story: it’s not just about desire or danger, but recognition, memory, and forgiveness. (Okay, and a little seduction too.)

One tiny bump for me was the hair color disguise twist: it felt a bit of a stretch considering their shared past. But honestly? It didn’t take away from how addictive the rest of the story was.

Bonus points for the flawless use of French! It’s refreshing to see a book in this genre handle a foreign language authentically. Kudos to Anders for doing her homework.

Is the premise reinventing the wheel? No. But is it gripping, sexy, and emotionally satisfying? Absolutely.

Thank you to Grey’s Promotion for the e-ARC, and best of luck to Addy Anders on release day (September 29). I’ll be first in line for book two.

📚 If you love dark romance with high stakes, emotional depth, and a couple worth rooting for, grab Blind Devotion the second it drops.

DARK AND EMOTIONAL: COMBINATION THAT KEEPS YOU GRIPPING
Blind Devotion is a second chance dark romance with Amnesia, Trauma and Reunion. Adrien, our male MMC is French Mafia head, closed off and isn't the one to settle down. Though he does think about someone, A girl from his past, some who appears in his memory and thoughts a lot. Persetta, Our Female Main lead, has gone through a lot of things, she has lost her memory and is unable to see, she's blind but she is so strong and authentic. Honestly, I loved her character, more that Adrien because sometimes he drew me up against the wall. I felt so irritated with his though process and sometimes his way of treating Persetta. But the way Persetta handled everything is amazing.
From the time Since, Adrien saved Persetta while she was drenched, he started calling her little survivor which is little bit cringe but I also kind of like it. I feel that flashbacks of their childhood provided more depth to their love story and then with intense sexual tension and I really enjoyed the chemistry between them because Tessa drove Adrien crazy by not bending to his will all the time and stand up to him every time she disagrees, I love her for this.
Overall, this is a Dark romance and our MMC is not grey character, No he is straight up dark character who is head of a Mafia family and does things not many people will agree with, (Not as in domestic violence or trafficking). I really enjoyed reading about romance and steamy part of the book and would recommend fellow Dark Romance reader, but as an avid Dark Romance reader this is not one of the darkest books, I have read but it sure is easy and fast-paced, one-time read for me.

This book had a lot of potential — it blends mafia romance with strong disability representation, which is not something you see often, and I truly appreciated how much research went into portraying blindness authentically. The author’s disclaimer and statistics at the start were a great touch, showing real effort to educate readers and approach the topic with care. I especially liked how the story addressed the evolution of Tessa’s disability and corrected common misconceptions — those parts felt genuine and informative.

The romance itself had moments I enjoyed, especially the flashbacks that added emotional depth. However, the relationship between Tessa and Adrien didn’t always land for me. The spice was plentiful but relatively mild, and while it fit the tone, some of Adrien’s internal monologue early on came off a bit dismissive of Tessa’s trauma. Thankfully, that improved as the story progressed.

My main struggle was with Adrien as a character. He felt more like a real-world mafia figure than the morally grey romantic leads typical of the genre, and that made it harder to connect with him. The story was also slow in places, and I found myself wishing for more focus on Tessa’s healing journey, her music career, or justice for the victims that were mentioned.

Overall, this was an ambitious and heartfelt story with excellent disability representation but uneven pacing and emotional depth. If you’re drawn to mafia romances with a strong, complex heroine and important representation, it’s worth giving a try — just be aware that it’s heavier and more grounded than your typical romantic fantasy.

This book.
Addy Anders is a new to me author and Blind Devotion was a book I knew I needed to read after reading the synopsis. I read a lot of Mafia books and some things in storyline can be repetitive, but I enjoyed that Addy made it her own. Persetta & Adrien’s story was unique and wasn’t your typical mafia romance. Tessa had gone through a lot of really traumatic things and navigating life changes from that trauma. The first half of the book was a bit of a slow burn, but it really gave you bits of pieces to the back history of Setta and Adrien perfectly. When the storyline picked up, it was a rollercoaster of emotions, plot twists, love, betrayal and secrets. At one point I thought, what else could Addy possibly throw my way to have me in more complete shock and then that ending happened and my Kindle was thrown on the bed. THAT was a cliffhanger for the ages!!! It was so good that I immediately went to get Renzo’s story and saw it won’t be out until next month! What am I gonna do til then?

Addy, thank you for writing a beautiful book and now being an author that will stay on my radar! Here’s three quotes I loved so much:

“I knew right then I was done for. Whatever she feared, I would vanquish. Whatever she wanted, I would give. I was hers. This fragile woman with the heart of a lion had conquered my beast of a soul.”

“My end and my beginning. My butterfly to your lion. I’ll be your protector. Your man, the demon everyone sees but you”.

“Our love was like the sun. It was blaze that shone through the darkness of the world, bringing warmth and joy where there was only emptiness before. But if you stared directly at it too long, it blinded you, and too much of it eventually burned you to a crisp.”

Holy emotional whiplash. Blind Devotion was dark, magnetic, and messy in all the best ways. This story pulls you in from the first page and doesn’t let go until you’re breathless, a little wrecked, and maybe questioning your morals just a bit. 😅

Persetta and Adrien’s story is built on tension—emotional, physical, moral. She wakes up blind and with no memory, and he’s the cold, lethal French mafia boss hired to kill her. Except instead of destroying each other, they become each other’s undoing.

Persetta was fragile and fierce all at once—her strength doesn’t come from never being scared, but from fighting anyway. And Adrien… whew. Dark, controlled, dangerous, and yet quietly devoted in a way that hits you right in the chest. He’s every morally grey man you’ve ever loved, multiplied by ten.

What I loved most was how Addy Anders wove power and vulnerability together. Persetta thinks she needs to seduce Adrien to survive, but the seduction quickly turns mutual—and that predator/protector flip? Absolutely chef’s kiss. Their chemistry burned slow, dangerous, and inevitable.

The writing was immersive, the emotions raw, and the twists? I didn’t see them coming. The reveal near the end re-shaped everything I thought I knew about their connection, and I’m still thinking about it.

If you love dark romance that balances danger, passion, and deep emotional stakes, Blind Devotion delivers. It’s brutal and tender, violent and intimate, and by the end, you’ll be just as devoted as they are. 🖤

What to Expect:
🖤 Mafia Romance
👁 Blind FMC + Amnesia
🔥 Protector / Predator Flip
💣 Dangerous Attraction
🕯 Slow Burn + Dark Heat
😈 Morally Grey MMC
💔 Secrets + Redemption

Blind Devotion is the first book in Addy Anders’s The Letters of Ruin series and what a start! Dark, emotional, and atmospheric, this French mafia romance hooked me right away.

Adrien, son of a powerful Caïd, has built his life on sacrifice and ruthless choices. Years ago, he gave up the only girl he ever cared for. Persetta, that same girl, has survived unthinkable pain: sold into trafficking, scarred, nearly blind, and stripped of her memories. Fate reunites them when she stumbles onto his yacht as the lone survivor of an attack. Neither recognizes the other immediately, but the pull between them is undeniable.

I especially loved the first half of the story: the banter and bond between Adrien and Persetta felt electric, even before their pasts were revealed. Adrien’s conflict (caught between duty and desire) gave his character surprising depth, while Persetta’s resilience made her unforgettable. The multilingual touches (English, French, Russian, Italian) added richness to the world.

The pacing wavered a bit in the second half with secrets, kidnappings, and reveals, but the emotional intensity and chemistry carried through. It’s a slow burn in places, but one that pays off with fiery tension and a satisfying HEA.

As a series starter, it leaves you eager for more.

Recommended for fans of dark romance who enjoy mafia intrigue, tortured anti-heroes, and heroines who refuse to give up.

Note: This story includes dark themes. Be sure to check the trigger warnings before diving in.

📖✨ ARC Review ✨📖

Huge thank you to Addy Anders and Grey’s Promotions for sending me Blind Devotion! 💐🖤

Y’all… PERSETTA. My girl. 💪🏽💔 She is one of the strongest FMCs I’ve read her resilience, her heart, even after all the tragedy and grief… I was in awe. And ADRIEN?! 😮‍💨🔥 The way he cared for her in his own quiet, protective way had me KICKING, SCREAMING, and SWOONING. Their little tender moments together 🥹💕… I melted every single time.
And can we talk about her brother?? 🥲 Their relationship was so special, I honestly wanted more of them.

This was my first French mafia romance and omg I ATE IT UP. 🥖🍷 You can tell the author did her research—the French woven throughout the story, the romantic nicknames, the sweet little phrases Adrien whispered in French… I’m such a sucker for pet names, and every time he did it I was ✨feral✨. Like… swoon levels off the charts. 😭💞

Their story isn’t your typical romance it’s heavy with tragedy, grief, and heartache, but somehow they still found love in the middle of it all. The way Adrien supported Tessa through her new disability, loving her exactly as she was… 🥹🦋 That broke me and healed me at the same time.

Only downside? Some scenes felt a little rushed or missing details, which pulled me out here and there. But honestly, the characters and emotions carried it through. And yes babes… the spice?? The spice SPICED. 🌶️🔥

This was my first Addy Anders book and now I NEED more. 🙌 The cliffhanger at the end?? Rude. 😅 But also, I can’t wait to read book two and I really hope Adrien & Tessa make an appearance. 🖤

✨✨ARC Review✨✨

This dark mafia romance had me hooked from the very first page—raw, passionate, and unforgettable.

“My little survivor. My odd little thing. Mine to kill. Mine to protect. Mine to make sense of because I was quickly realizing I couldn't do this.”
That one line set the tone for everything that followed.

The dynamic between them is brutal, sometimes even darkly funny (“Don’t stick your nose where it doesn’t belong.” 😂), but always charged with intensity. From the heat of “I'd love nothing more than to spread you wide” to the gentleness of “And I'll be at your side, every step of the way.”

She isn’t just a victim—she’s a survivor:
“You're not a victim. You're a survivor. My little survivor. My monster, my savior, the safest place for me.”

His obsession is both terrifying and beautiful. The way he claims her shook me to my core:
“I want the world to know you're mine. That you're off-limits. That I will hunt down anyone who tries to take you away from me.”

And then came the line that struck me hardest of all:
“Ne fais pas aux autres ce que tu ne voudrais pas qu'on te fasse. Don't do to others what you wouldn't want done to yourself.”

Because at the end of the day, it was always going to be them:
“It's us or nothing at all. No one hurt my woman and got away with it.”

The final words left me breathless:
“My killer. My big bad bossman. The man I love. The only person I would ever marry.”

Dark, brutal, and heartbreakingly beautiful—this book will stay with me for a long time.

This book was riveting from the very beginning young Adrien faces terror his fathers demands and his brothers decent into madness then the boy who can't stand anyone's touch is approached by a young girl at a funeral Persetta she doesn't understand the graveness of the day the quiet severe boy she just understands her fathers cruelty and her mothers tears but that day shaped both Adrien and Percy there fathers arranged a marriage contract that was supposed to take place a month after she turned 18 but on her 15th birthday it all fell apart and it's not until much later that you find out why fast forward several years and Persetta has been trafficked used abused and drugged and in a fight for her life alone in the ocean with a bullet her only company and certain death if she doesn't get rescued soon. Adrien as the Caid of the French Mafia and a partner in Endgame he has and unusual side hustle murder, assassin, killer take your pick and Persetta is his target only he doesn't know who she really is no name except the one his sister gave her Tessa add memory loss and she's blind but he has a job to do finish the contract only one problem she's starting to remind him of a ghost from his past. There back and forth between passion and death is complex and keeps you reading until the end will they find love or will they only find death. I look forward to the next book in this series and to see what becomes of Tessa's brother. I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

The first few chapters felt rushed, like the story was more focused on laying out a quick timeline than letting things unfold naturally. Around chapter seven, though, the pacing finally slowed down, and that’s when I really started to enjoy the book.

Adrien is supposed to be this powerful, feared man, but I didn’t always get that impression from his words or actions. It left me a little unsatisfied at times, even though his backstory made it easier to understand why he is the way he is. That said, the constant cycle of “I’m going to kill you / I’m not going to kill you” became repetitive, especially in the first half of the book—it felt like the same scenario kept popping up every other chapter.

What stood out to me most was Persetta’s character. After everything she went through, she didn’t give up on living. Even with Adrien’s threats looming over her, she kept pushing forward, and I loved that her memories gradually came back as the story progressed.

Overall, Blind Devotion was an enjoyable read, especially as the author’s first mafia romance. While there were a few bumps in pacing and character development, the story still kept me invested, and I’m looking forward to Renzo’s book next.

⚠️ Definitely check the trigger warnings before reading—some scenes may be difficult for certain readers.

I enjoyed this book and my first from this author.....I have heard she writes under a different pen name and a different genre and this is her first foray into Dark Romance and it didn't disappoint......the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because some of the plot felt rushed in places and the treatment of the FMC by the MMC in the beginning I didn't like.....yeah he's cold and he's to finish a job and such but the trauma she's been through you'd think he'd have a bit of compassion.

Our FMC Tessa/Persetta wakes up injured, blind and no clue as to what happened to her or her past, the only clue is a tattoo on her calf. Even though she's been through hell and despite her trauma she's a strong, resilient and one hell of a woman. Our MMC Adrien like I said before he's cold, cruel and a ruthless leader of the French Mafia.....but he has a hidden connection to Tessa. Yep you've guessed it these two already know each other!! How far will he go to destroy the only woman he's ever loved? Will he commit to finish the job off and unalive Tessa? Will Tessa ever remember her past and who Adrien is to her?

This was a fantastic quick read and I'm always a sucker for a forced proximity and second chance trope. This is a solid dark romance with suspense and some spice thrown in towards the end which will have you fanning yourself lol. I can't wait for the second book as this left on a cliffhanger!!!

Overall:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice:🌶️🌶️🌶️

Blind Devotion is a twisted addictive mafia romance that hooked me from the first page and didn’t let me go. Persetta wakes up blinded and without any memories, right when danger is crashing into her life—and not long after, she realizes the man she needs to manipulate to save herself is Adrien, cold-blooded, vicious, the head of the French mafia. He’s dangerous, cunning, scary… everything she should run from and yet, the closer she gets to him, the more she becomes entangled in the web of betrayal, secrets, and power. Adrien, broken by the past, hardened by his choices, is fascinated and drawn to the woman he was hired to kill, the woman who tastes like his punishment and his truth. Their chemistry is dark, slow-burn, and sizzling with tension you can taste in every threat and stolen moment. The stakes are family alliances, lies, loss, and the terrifying question of when the memories come back, will love be enough to survive the truth? Blind Devotion does not pull punches from the brutal edges of obsession and emotion. It’s a twisted story of mafia, arranged marriage, manipulation, and choices that serves doses of romantic danger, heartbreak, and longing in perfect amounts. If you like morally grey anti-heroes, forbidden romance with power plays, and a heroine who fights her demons as hard as she fights her fear, this one’s going to own your thoughts.
