I didn’t come back to Wild Hollow for redemption. I came because the mountains wouldn’t let me stay away.
The town needed a sheriff. The pack needed an alpha. I just wanted quiet, coffee, and to be left the hell alone.
Then Kate McKinley blew into my life like a warm Appalachian storm, bright, sassy, and completely impossible to ignore. She runs the general store like a queen in boots and flannel, with a pet goose named Hank, and enough charm to make even a battle-scarred wolf forget his scars.
My wolf knew her the second we locked eyes. Fated mates. The kind of bond you don’t walk away from—not even if it rips your life in two.
But Wild Hollow doesn’t play fair. Old feuds are stirring. Her family’s name is tangled in half the town’s secrets. And while I’m trying to drag this place into the light, she’s caught in the shadows, torn between loyalty to her outlaw kin, and the pull of something wild between us.
Now I have a uphold the law or protect the woman fate gave me. And Kate? She’ll have to decide if loving me is worth turning her back on everything she’s ever known.
Because in Wild Hollow, secrets don’t stay buried. Not in the soil. Not in the blood. And sure as hell not in the heart of an alpha who’s finally found his mate.

Alpha Unbound is a sexy and atmospheric M/F shifter romance, with a side of mystery and suspense.
The story follows Hudson Rawlings, who returns from his stint in the military to his hometown of Wild Hollow, West Virginia. He has big shoes to fill as the newly minted town sheriff and official wolf pack Alpha, determined to make necessary changes despite unrest among the old guard members of the pack who like to push Hudson’s boundaries at every chance.
On the proverbial other side of the tracks is Kate McKinlay, a fiery red-headed wolf shifter in her own right, with a spirit as fierce as her hair and a sharp mouth to match. Because of this, Kate’s a black sheep within her own family, who are a rival pack (of sorts) to the Rawlings brood.
When Hudson and Kate re-meet—they grew up in the same circles—sparks fly as fast as the barbed words out of Kate’s unforgiving mouth, yet they instantly acknowledge, but silently attempt to ignore the flaring of a mate bond that will change the course of their lives forever.
The romance between Hudson and Kate burns hot and fast, with enough passion and desperation to scorch the pages, but I’d personally hoped for more in the way of an emotional connection, which just sort of came out of nowhere without the juicy build-up and tension I prefer in my paranormal romance reads. I liked these two together, I just wished for something more, I guess.
Interestingly, the romance took a bit of a side seat to the unfolding mystery, which involved Kate’s missing brother, Luke, and a wide-spread, increasingly dangerous conspiracy he’d uncovered, that is now unraveling thanks to Kate’s and Hudson’s (initially independent) push for the truth of what’s been lurking in the shadows of Wild Hollow.
This intrigue element was quite compelling, especially in the way the author described the places and people with such vivid, visceral clarity, giving this Appalachian Mountains-inspired town of Wild Hollow a sense that it was its own distinct character within the story.
This very much read as an opening instalment to a larger series arc, with Kate and Hudson left solid within their mate bond, but with many loose plot threads hanging for sequel exploration. Mostly, I’m very keen to get AWOL brother Luke on page to read his story in book two, and to discover more about the intricacies of the deeper Wild Hollow conspiracy that left me asking too many questions to count.
***A special thanks to the author and publishers (via Book Sirens) for providing an ARC of this book. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the first book in the "Wolves of Wild Hollow" series by Delta James. The story features Katherine McKinley, a wolf-shifter from the McKinley pack, Hudson Rawlings, who is both the pack Alpha of the Rawling pack and the Sheriff of Wild, and Hank, a Canadian goose that Katie saved from becoming Christmas dinner.
Hudson has returned home to assume the roles of Sheriff and Alpha after the mysterious death of the previous Sheriff. Compounding the strange happenings in Wild Hollow is the disappearance or possible death of Katie's brother, Luke, along with an air of secrecy surrounding the events. Will Hudson and Katie be able to solve this mystery?
The character development is engaging, and the storyline captivates you until the very end! Hudson and Katie are the two main characters who confront challenges head-on. Hudson is not your typical Sheriff; he is a decisive Alpha, while Kate is a strong, take-charge woman who doesn’t tolerate pushy behavior from men. Hank adds a bit of humor to the mix, providing a welcome contrast.
This is not your typical shifter romance. The author has crafted a tale of intrigue that keeps you on your toes. It’s gritty and doesn’t allow for relaxation, creating a refreshing balance between the main characters.
The narrative possesses a noir film quality, characterized by moody atmospheres and suppressed emotions. It focuses on drama with little to no comic relief. I thoroughly enjoyed the story.
The story is the first in a new series that takes place in Wild Hollow, West Virginia, where there are two rival wolf packs, the McKinleys and the Rawlings. They each have boundary lines and their side of the mountain. The McKinley pack is known for making and distributing moonshine. The Rawlings are adjusting to the return of Hudson, who left and served in the military, and after the death of his father, he has returned, the new Alpha of the Rawlings and also the Sheriff of Wild Hollow. Do any of the families even remember what the rivalry is about?
“The Universe must have a twisted sense of humor.”
The story will revolve around rivalries, unexplained happenings, people missing, and memories changed. Kathryn ‘Kate’ McKinley is running the store that has been in her family, along with her protector, a Canada goose named Hank, whom she rescued from being their family's Christmas dinner. Luke McKinley went missing many years ago, without a trace, but Kate believes he is out there, and someone knows, but isn’t talking. Hudson feels the same way. Both of them will encounter stone markers that are boundary lines for the two packs defaced.
“Someone’s carving up pack stones on their land—markers that haven’t been touched in decades, defaced like they mean nothing. It’s not just disrespect. It’s a message. And whoever’s sending it is smart enough to know exactly what those stones mean to us. Sacred ground. Boundaries drawn in blood. You don’t scratch at old walls unless you want war.”
The story will have Hudson and Kate going head to head. He knows, and is sure she does too, that they are fated mates—forget family rivalries, fate overrules. They were friends as kids, including Luke, and now these two are working together—and that isn’t something his pack is pleased with.
Hudson: Kate, wait. Kate: I’m busy. Hudson: I’m only saying what I should’ve said days ago—what we both know. Kate: D… right, you should’ve. At the very least, you should have said it to me first. But, if you think you can just claim me like I’m a slice of pie at the diner… Hudson: You’re not a slice of pie. You’re the fire I can’t put out. The instinct I can’t override. You belong to yourself, to this pack, and to me. If you give me the word, I’ll burn down the world and anyone that tries to touch you. I meant what I said to Eddard. Kate: I know. Is it weird that I found it oddly arousing?
The story has the good, the bad, and the evil. Who, what, where, when, and why have caused issues in Wild Hollow? How is Luke connected? The story is shrouded in mystery, suspense, life and death danger, and discoveries. Kate and Hudson look past their family ties and acknowledge that fate has brought them together—and they make an excellent team. I loved how Hudson respects her, protects her goose (not a euphemism), and together, they go after the enemy.
“We run not as two creatures, but one rhythm—wild, primal, bonded even before the bite.”
“It’s strategy. I can feel it—the slow coil of a plan taking root in the dark. Not a challenge for dominance. Something quieter. Sharper. Sabotage. Deceit. Someone isn’t going to come at me head-on. They’re going to aim where it hurts most—her.”
I loved all the descriptions and details in the story because, as a reader, I became immersed in the location, as if I were there. Ms. Delta James described what was being seen, how things smelled, and painted such a vivid picture of the landscape, the destruction, and what they discovered. The chemistry between Kate and Hudson oozes off the pages, from their tête-à-tête banter to their sizzling erotic encounters.
The story doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, but more of a segue into the next story of Luke and Elena.
This book was pretty good; it held my attention well and kept me wrapped up in the story. It’s pretty short so it’s a quick read. I liked the characters of Hudson and Kate. It would have been nice to have more of their back story. I think the book could have been more in depth; at times it felt a little incomplete like there were details missing that would have made the story better. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Captivating read, Katherine McKinley And Elias Rawlings are wonderful shifter reads Katherine McKinley and Hudson Rawlings are simply wonderful to read all about and I guarantee that you will be captivated by this simply wonderful book, I can guarantee that you will love the interactions this couple have. Hudson Rawlings is recently returning to Wild Hollow to the place where he was born and grew up and had then left to serve in the military and now with the death of Elias Rawlings had returned and was to be Sheriff and also to take the position as Alpha of the Rawling wolf pack. There is a connection between Katherine and the Canadian Goose “Hank” that she has saved from the Christmas meal by standing up to her elder, she had then kept him in the loft with her and they were an item and he was her protector. Kate had noticed that Hudson had also realised that the Hollow was giving off strange vibes, as though it was waiting for something to happen. That the secrets it was guarding so diligently were about to reach out to those interested enough and she has never stopped believing that Luke was still alive. The obvious Fated Mate feeling is one that Kate and Hudson could no longer ignore, Hudson wanted to know how all those years ago Kate’s brother Luke had told him that he would end up mated to Kate and they had even had a small fight over dis declaration. I guarantee that you will be totally captivated by this the first book in this wonderful series, The Hollow is a place filled with the spirits of its ancestors and it sees and knows everything and is not afraid to ensure that lies are uncovered and that justice is carried out. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.
3.75stars-ALPHA UNBOUND is the first instalment in Delta James’ contemporary, adult WOLVES OF WILD HOLLOW erotic, paranormal romance series. This is Wild Hollow sheriff and alpha wolf Hudson Rawlings, and store owner Kate McKinley’s story line.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Kate and Hudson) ALPHA UNBOUND follows the return of alpha wolf Hudson Rawlings to Wild Hollow, where he will take the mantle of alpha, and assume the position of the local sheriff but all is not well in Wild Hollow, including the long running feud between the Rawlings and McKinley packs. The boundaries are changing; something dark and dangerous is circling the town; and Kate’s missing brother is leaving clues in an effort to help prevent the town from imploding on itself.
The world building focuses on betrayal, long hidden secrets, and the spiral of respect. Hudson’s return comes with the fear of discovery, and an encroaching war no one can win.
The relationship between Hudson and Kate is one of fated mates but the Rawlings and McKinley’s long standing feud threatens the relationship between our story line couple. Rumors spread regarding Hudson’s return to Wild Hollow, a return that comes with demons from the past. The $ex scenes are passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
ALPHA UNBOUND is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, disappearance and discrimination, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is intriguing and entertaining;the romance is fast and furious; the characters are determined and charismatic.
For some reason, I found it a little bit challenging to get through this book. I have read around five different titles from this author, and all of them have been entertaining. It could be that this book just wasn't for me, or maybe I will like the continuation in the second book a lot more.
There was so much that I enjoyed about it, but at other times, the story kind of dragged. The main female character, Kate, was extremely strong- willed, assertive, independent, fought her own battles, and never gave up on her brother. I admired those qualities in her because I am somewhat of a people pleaser who will do anything to avoid confrontation. Having Hank the goose as Kate's companion was just adorable. That detail was unexpected and made me smile.
Now for the parts that I struggled with. The romance aspect felt rushed to me. It seemed like that because of the mystery elements of the story with Luke, romance was brushed over or more of a secondary focus. I'm not sure if that was intentional. With this said, even though this instalment was not my favorite, I am going to continue this series and give it another chance. Sometimes people like another couple better or, they like the next book in a series more than the first. Just because this book wasn't my cup of tea, doesn't mean that another person won't think that it is great. Keep in mind that I am only one person, and don't be discouraged from reading this book.
Thank you for letting me read an ARC of this story for free. I always appreciate it and try to share my honest opinions and feelings.
I love Delta James books! So I was thrilled to see a new series. Every book of Delta James books are so much fun to read. All of her characters are awesome. Kate is a spunky and stubborn she-wolf shifter. Ever since she was young she was never like other she-wolves. She even defied her Grandfather. When she stood up and save a grumpy Canadian goose. That was marked to be Christmas dinner. Years later she is still the same, and she still has the goose. Who has become her personal bodyguard! He goes everywhere even the local pack store she runs. Hudson is a sexy Alpha wolf shifter. He had left town years ago. This is until his former Alpha dies. It is now up to him to pull his pack together, and become the new Alpha. The town also needs a new sheriff which Hudson has experience at. Just as he takes up the position he gets a call. About a disturbance at the local store. When he gets there it involves Kate's goose, and a tourist. When he fist lays eyes on Kate he knows she is his fated mate. Only how will he get close enough to claim her past her guard goose? Plus Kate is so stubborn and used to getting her own way. You will love this funny, exciting, thrilling, Sweet, and steamy hot shifter romance. This is a five star plus story. I had so much fun reading it!
The start of a new series. Hudson Rawlings has returned to Wild Hollow to take his place as alpha of his pack and town sheriff. He grew up with Kate McKinley, wild child and sister of his friend Luke, but seeing her for the first time as proprietress of the family mercantile, he realizes that she is his fated mate. He knows she feels it, too, but the current animosity between their families does not bode well for their future.
Kate's family has never conformed nor surrendered. They were moonshiners, outlaws, and renegades. Her brother has disappeared and is presumed dead, but she refuses to endorse another as alpha of the family. She and Hank, her guard dog Canadian goose, run the mercantile with ruthless efficiency, though Hank can be a little overzealous in pursuing his guard duties. She doesn't need an alpha wolf to run her life, or so she tells herself, but there is something stirring in the woods around Wild Hollow and Kate is somehow right in the middle of it. It seems Luke might not be dead after all, and he has started to leave bread crumbs that might lead Wild Hollow and its inhabitants right into a war.
Good story. Hot alpha. Conflicted mate. Mystery. Sequels coming. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
while the plot and story were good i found it a bit difficult to get thru as it was to overly descriptive. it was like overkill every sentence detailed and described to death. it did not read as a romance other than hudson and kate getting together which really seemed like not that big a deal since they had always been attracted to each other from teens and it was inevitable they would end up mated. they pretty much always knew they were mates. it read more like a psychological thriller with all the mystery, intrigue, secret stuff going on in the woods, kate's brother luke going missing for years but them finding clues he was still alive and around. it was disappointing as a romance story to be honest and should have focused less on the mystery in the woods and more on the relationship between hudson and kate since that was the basis for the book. i am ambigious on how to rate this book honestly because i would give it 3 stars for the romance part alone.
I love this author but I was somewhat disappointed in this book. hopefully in the next ones she focuses more on the romantic relationship of the couple in the story and not so heavily on intrigue, mystery, whispers in the trees, and the like. I received an arc copy from book sirens and this is my honest voluntary review.
Kate and Hudson agree on one thing ; they don’t want a mate ! But fate had other ideas and they are fated to each other. Kate is a snarky, take me as I am alpha female. Hudson is a slightly broken, lawman, shifter who has come back to town after being in the military. He saw way to much evil, so he knows how it feels, so when things start happening in the hollow, he feels the storm coming. I like these characters, they stay true to who they are and change for no one. The adversaries in this story remain hidden for most of it, only notes from Kate’s brother Luke give them any clues. The only problem I had with this book is it went from finding a series of clues, a weapons cache, then abruptly are attacking the site of their enemies. To me there just wasn’t enough lead up to the fight, it went from one scene to the next ;boom ! Other than that it was a great read and set up for book 2 being Luke ( Kate’s brother and Elena ( his mat’s)) story. 4✨ for a great plot, well edited, hot and steamy story . I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wow. This book felt more detailed and descriptive than anything I have read recently. It made me feel like I could smell the scents, hear the forest limbs and leaves, see the smoke and soot, and feel the earth beneath both boots and paws. I could imagine Hank's frantic flight with his red collar.
Hudson and Kate's banter was both interesting and almost mystical. They were in tune with each other on a higher level even before the claiming bite. It only intensified afterwards. I liked Kate's strength and Hudson's support of her. I did enjoy the fact that with each clue, item, or event uncovered, the mystery became more intriguing.
The mystery of Wild Hollow is still somewhat of a mystery. Hudson and Kate may have won the battle, but there is still the mystery of the war they are fighting. It seems only some of the questions were answered and some of the traitors were exposed. It's not a cliffhanger, but there is that seamless transition into the beginning of Luke and Elena's story. Rating: 4.5 Stars
This book is, at heart, a mystery novel. Something of military evil is encircling the community. Hudson and Kate come from two parts of the community, the Rawlings and the McKinleys. Their love isn't forbidden like Romeo and Juliet, but it calls back to a time when the Hollow was more united than it is now, so there are hints of the various groups in the Hollow reuniting. There's a brother and friend who has been given up as dead who may be alive, the one who is accumulating information on the high tech dark forces threatening the community. And there's the comic relief of a goose, Hank, who is Kate's, well not a friend or a guard or a pet, just companion with almost human characteristics.
So. While the characters in the book are shifters, it is not a shifter novel. While there are paramilitary overtones, it isn't a military book. I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next one in this new series that reunites Kate's best friend and Kate's brother.

Loved reading this book it was definitely amazing with all the families feuding, they can feel like being watched when near the woods. They hear the trees and sticks making noises. The town of Wild Hollow needs a Sheriff not having one for awhile, Hudson Rawlings, left town to join the military and is now back in town to become Alpha of the pack and to be Sheriff after the death of a family member. Kate McKinley, is a female with attitude and is sexy, sassy, strong willed, with beautiful green eyes and red hair, she even took a goose and named him Hank and now she runs the family General store with Hank by her side. When the Sheriff went to the general store for a complaint between the tourist and Hank, the heat was permeating between them and when they realises they are staring at each other, the Sheriff couldn't get out of there quick enough. The story kept up with the heat everything they were in close proximity, until they couldn't control themselves any longer.
I have mixed feelings about this book because the author has a wonderful way with words, but the story did not seem fully realized. Several areas could have used more background information to help the reader understand why things were happening. There were also times where there seemed to be "scene jumps". EX: One moment a few characters are scouting in the woods, and the next moment they are at the end of a battle. I actually flipped pages back to make sure I did not skip over pages by mistake.
The characters were likable and Hank, the goose, was a nice touch. I did like the mystery with Luke, but there needed to be more to help me understand why his absence was so important. I am willing to read more from this author with the hope that future stories are fleshed out more so that the reader can make connections about how and why things are happening.
There were adult scenes, but they were not overly done. 2.5ish stars, so I rounded up to 3 stars.

Kate saves a goose from getting butchered and being Christmas dinner and calls him Hank he protects her and now running the hardware store. Her family try to make it hard for her running the store but she still does it plus her family makes moonshine. Hudson is back in town as the sheriff and alpha he is told about a disturbance at the hardware store, Hank attacks anyone he thinks is a threat to Kate. He is finding pack markers defaced, Kate did a delivery and felt things were wrong when she was doing it. Luke her brother just left one day when she was young he left because of what he had found out that was going on around the packs. Later she finds servellence cameras then feels someone following her, then the elders grab her since she put a red collar on Hank so he wouldn’t be killed. Kate tells Hank to fly and find Hudson he saves her and Luke leaves her a USB drive on everything he had found out. They get help to take out the building and find a lot of military equipment but Luke leaves them a journal and says it isn’t over with.
An intense suspense filled, captivating storyline that will pull you in and keep you on edge as the anticipation of what's happening next builds up dramatically. Kate McKinley has her own set of rules, breaking with old traditions and is unfased by male dominance. Her pet Hank, the overprotective goose which she rescued from being Christmas dinner, is a little terror causing havoc in her store in Wild Hollows if he feels she's threatened. Hudson came back to town, the Alpha of Rawlings Pack and the town sheriff. All points to whatever her brother Luke has uncovered, causing the looming dangers, but he is still MIA. A fated mates with a good shot of passion and the ending hints of much more to come with Luke and Elena. The scenic writing pulls you one smack into Wild Hollows in the Appalachian mountains. I received an advanced review copy and leave this review voluntary Thank you BookSirens
He returned to Wild Hollow because his pack needed an alpha, and the town needs a sheriff. The one thing this stoic wounded warrior didn't think he needed was to find his fated mate, Kate McKinley. Kate sometimes has a smart mouth, is fiercely independent and grew up in a pack that expected their females to do as they were told, but when Kate was still quite young, she decided that she would go her own way. I thought these were wonderful characters and their interactions were believable with fast-paced and entertaining dialog that kept me engaged in this steamy, and suspenseful book. Hank the Canadian goose was particularly entertaining, and I got quite a few chuckles out of his antics. Some surprising twists in the plot kept me engrossed from the first page to the last. I am already looking forward to the next book in this series, and so I am highly recommending this one to other readers.

meets a woman who belongs to moonshining family, Kate McKinley. She is wolf-shifter who runs the general store, has a watch-goose named Hank who will peck and fly at annoyances such as any of the Rawlings family who decides she is trespassing when making deliveries to customers. Hudson Rawlings is the new sheriff in town, taking the job after old sheriff disappeared when he got out of service. Kate's brother Luke, who helped her run store is also missing, but Kate believes he is watching for weird stuff happening in the Hollow. Luke always believed Kate and Hudson meant for each other, and on seeing her again, Hudson's wolf recognizes Kate as his fated mate...but there are signs that all isn't what it seems in the town and surrounding area...will Hudson and Kate be able to stop the trouble??? You will need to read this story to see what happens...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.
The writing and world-building in this book flow like poetry. The wolf shifters in the rural, mountain community of Wild Hollow, West Virginia, have a long and complex history. After his father dies, Hudson retires from the military and returns to Wild Hollow as the town's sheriff and the pack's alpha. Kate is an independent red wolf shifter from a family of renegade moonshiners. She now runs Wild Hollow’s general store, with her cranky pet goose. Their story has pack politics, suspense and shifter secrets. Kate and Hudson have to acknowledge their mate bond while they uncover mysteries affecting Wild Hollow (including pack issues and the disappearance of Kate’s brother years’ ago). While some plot lines are resolved in their book, Wild Hollow’s story continues. I’m completely hooked by Wild Hollow and can’t wait to keep more of this new series! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Deep hidden secrets and danger.. the forests warn the Alpha Sheriff as he tries to investigate why the Forest and Wild Hollow feel so disturbed, the wildlife quiet and on edge.. The wolf packs with their own history of resentment, secrets and poorly hidden conflicts also seem to be treading carefully and looking over their shoulders. Kate the fiery redheaded shifter from the McKinley Pack and Sheriff Hudson from the Rawlings Pack are well aware of the deep-seated enmity and conflicts between the 2 wolf shifter packs in small-town West Virginia. It doesn't stop them from trying to solve the mystery surrounding Wild Hollow. Once again Ms James pulls her 2 main characters into conflict without knowing the exact villians and risks! A well-written mystery story of danger discovered and conquered with 2 strong main characters finding their way through to their HEA!!
This book is full of beautiful scenes, very well worded with lots of imagery. Unfortunately, it's missing a whole bunch of story. There's very little reasoning for what's going on, and there's nothing about relationships as they develop There's just so much missing, it was very frustrating to read. I can tell that the FMC is very strong. I think that's the reason for the prologue, to let us know that. But there's no history of any kind to explain what's going on. There are comments made by characters that don't make any sense, not even later in the book.
I think that probably it all makes sense in the author's brain, it's just that she didn't give us as the reader anything to go on. They just seem to hate each other, and then they're in bed together. But there's no development there's no reason for the hatred, there's just too much missing..
Fated Mates/Shifter Romance. Hudson and Kate had great chemistry throughout the story. When I was reading I felt the connection the two of them shared. I wish we could have learned more about before Hudson left for the military and what their friendship was like before. I think that would have helped me understand the relationship between the two of them better. I did like the mystery aspect of the book and it kept me on my toes each chapter something happened and they got closer to the answer. The way the Hollow was described in the story really made it seem like it was a living breathing entity and I enjoyed the way it played into everyones feelings and actions in the book. I LOVED Hank and wished he was mentioned more in the middle of the book. It felt like he disappeared and came back towards the end. Otherwise an overall good read.
Hudson is back in town as the new Sheriff and ready to take on his role as Alpha, claiming his fated mate and sorting out his pack but all is not as it seems and something smells off!
Kate is feisty, independent and doesn’t put up with any nonsense and has the perfect guard dog in Hank.
The storyline pulls you into their town, the secrets, lies, deception and danger as they both try to solve the mystery with a little help from a ghost from the past.
You can feel the tension building all around them and the passion they share as secrets are ripped apart in this highly entertaining and explosive read.
Fantastic start to the series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
How many stories have a protective Canadian goose that was saved from becoming Christmas dinner? Kate, a feisty she-wolf defied her elders and saved Hank, the goose. She runs a store, and Hank is always at her side. Hudson, a wolf shifter, retired from the military after facing many horrors. He returned to his childhood home in Wild Hollow to be the sheriff and new alpha.
He's called to a disturbance at Kate’s store and one he saw her, he realized she was his fated mate. This is where the fascinating story begins. They face intrigue, danger, betrayals, and love that only fated mates could have. I can’t wait for the next book in the Wolves of Wild Hollow series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Great paranormal romance, and the mystery/suspence woven into the storyline had me hooked and on the edge of my seat. Hudson and Kate had history from when they were kids and teens. Kate's brother Luke (the future Alpha of McKinley pack) was Hudson's best friend. Unusual, as Hudson was heir apparent of Rawlings pack and there was bad blood between the two packs. When Hudson returned to Wild Hollow after his father's passing and took up as sheriff, he also realized Kate was his Fated (and so did she, though she resisted). There was danger brewing in the forrest. Hudson and Kate would need to learn to work together to fully realize the danger, abd the threat, before it was to late.
I'm greatful for the gift copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
Alpha Unbound is the first book in the author’s new Wolves of Wild Hollow series, and tells the story of MMC Hudson Rawlings, Alpha wolf shifter who has returned home to Wild Hollow to take his place as pack leader and town sheriff.
MFC Kate McKinley now runs her family general store and when Hudson sees his friend Luke’s sister again realizes immediately she is his fated mate.
This was a very entertaining Contemporary Paranormal Romance that was nicely written with well crafted characters and immersion within a myriad of volatile passions, emotion, intrigue, family dynamics, drama, secrets, and danger that keeps the story intense and a dynamite read.

I loved everything about this story but especially Kate because she has no time for fools or those who think they can intimidate her. She is an equal to Hudson and that makes them the perfect Alpha couple. The story drew me in and held my attention mainly because I wasn’t sure what was going to happen next, whether it be good or bad. The danger has temporarily been tamed but still hiding. There was a secondary characters that I absolutely loved and it was Hank. I can’t wait to read Luke’s story. Overall, it was an excellent story and I absolutely loved it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksirens and are voluntarily leaving a review.
Something is underfoot and unsettling the atmosphere of the forrest and small town of Wile Hollow. Hudson has returned to take on his role as the alpha of the Rawlings family and the position of the new sheriff. Kate after her stand of saving the marked Christmas goose 13 years ago and inserting her place, goes on to run the McKinley family store. A run in with the new sheriff sets the scene to the beginning of a sinister atmosphere surround the area. At times a tense read and I couldn't decide which family could be lying at the bottom of the unrest. I received a copy from BookSirens and this is my honest and voluntary review

A returning military Alpha wolf, Hudson, and an outside the law fated mate wolf, Kate, join forces to find out what is happening in their town. I like the way Kate continually stands up for herself and her beliefs. The interaction between Kate’s unlawful pack and the ruling pack is interesting and insightful. The way Hudson stands up for Kate and lets her be herself is telling amongst the interactions of the elders of the pack and Luke’s beliefs. The introduction of Kate’s missing brother, Luke, adds to the story and kept me on edge even though it ends with a to be continued.
