The pain of loss and the many secrets she kept from me would alter my life and heart forever. I just wish I would have known what was coming.
Jayde is a typical teenage girl. She's seventeen, popular and has the life anyone would want. As her eighteenth birthday approaches her mother begins to become detached and afraid. After her father is killed everything begins to deteriorate rapidly. A whirlwind of events turns her whole world upside down. Between her fathers death, her mothers detachment and those darks eyes watching her, Jayde has a lot of unanswered questions. Who could have known that those hypnotizing dark eyes would have all the answers.
My whole world just crumbled around me. There are tears flooding my eyes. I'm numb and I can't breath. I need some air. I run from the house feeling the ache of my broken heart. My chest is heavy and the pain is crushing. The night air is thick with humidity and awash with the pale moonlight. The heat of August mixed with the truth about my family is unbearable but I can't be near them right now. I push away the heartache to try to numb the pain. I use my sleeve to wipe my sweat and tear drenched face. I look to the sky for resolve. I hear footsteps and I know Bently is behind me. "I need some space." "I'm so sorry, Jayde." I just hold my hand up. The hot tears begin sliding down my cheeks once more. "We'll tell you everything, every truth. You need to trust us." "I need some time to process this. Leave me be. Tomorrow I'll be better. Give me until tomorrow." "Very well, love, tomorrow," he says turning to leave. I sit staring at the moon and glittering stars. I don't know how long I've been out here. I can only assume dawn is closing in. I run my fingers through the dewy grass and feel all the hearbreak all over again. I try to convince myself this is all a bad dream and I'm going to awaken soon. As the sun peaks above the horizon I know they are cautiously approaching. I can smell his sweet aroma and feel her magic swirling around me. I don't take my eyes off the moon. It still shines as brightly as it did in the complete darkness. The brillance of it seems to be defying the rising sun.
Hello. I'm Sabrina! I'm a mother of three ages 3, 6 and 9. I'm a full time cake decorator, full time mom and have recently written my first official book. I've written for years and have always wanted to be published. It's a dream I've had since I was diagnosed with leukemia at 11. Here I am 23 years later finally fulfilling that dream. I studied business administration and management at Gulf Coast State College. I never have been able to do much with that living in a small town. I do enjoy my job, I get to be creative and messy, ( think finger painting for adults) and it inspires me to write. My book may not be literary work of art but it was fun to write!
This book was full of magic and suspense. Sabrina did a fabulous job with creating such a wonderful, entertaining book.
I loved Jade, she was a fantastic, strong and heartwarming character. I enjoyed watching her transition beautifully into her new powers. I love that she loved coffee as much as I do!! Bonus points there ;)
Omg..who could not love Bentley. He was mysterious and lovable. Love watching Jade and his relationship grow.
There were so many great characters, you all will need to read this book to enjoy them as much as I did ;)
I think Sabrina Archer did a outstanding job with this book. Great young adult book, I think everyone will enjoy.
I received this from the author in exchange for my honest review.
This is the first book by this author that I have ever read and I believe this is her first book released. If I am not mistaken the author didn't use an editor for this one and it shows in little snippets here and there. An editor would have probably picked up on some of the choppiness and made various change suggestions. There are also some missed opportunities when it comes to Jayde and Bentley's relationship. They sort of just fell into the relationship immediately, there was no leading up to it or anything. I could kind of see it from Bentley's perspective (a little), but not Jayde's.
All of that being said I will probably read the next one since it looks interesting, and I would love to see more of the story :) This author has some potential and with a little help she could be great.
This book had potential... but lost it quickly. When something important happened it happened so quickly that you would have to reread the paragraph just to understand what happened. It was hard to tell who was talking, and what in general was going on.
This is my first YA book of the year. And what can I say about this book. It is a sweet book which introduces us to a you witch, who doesn't know she is a witch. Jayde is a seventeen year old, who is reeling from the death of her father and a mother that is determined for them to move. Jayde thinks that she wants to move to get away from all the memories of her father and the tragedy that has happened Boy was she wrong , they move and Jayde keeps running into a green eyed stranger. Which at the beginning she doesn't think she saw him because one min he is there and the next he is gone. Until the day that her mother is run off the road and killed . Ok now what is a girl going to do she has no parents and this green eyed stranger shows up and tells her that when she turns eighteen . She will receive magical powers . But there is a catch, there are people out there that want that magic and will do anything to get it. So what is a girl to do? She finds her new family and gets the help with the magic. Oh yeah save the day and her best friend Scarlet, from her power hungry birth mother and also fall in love with the boy who is there for her.
This is the first book in the series and the author did a very good job. This is a sweet young adult paranormal book. There is magic and a very sweet romance , the first love. Bently and Jayde as such sweet characters and you see them grow closer and closer. But there is also magic and intrigue . A kidnapping of her best friend. You feel for Jayde, you want to wrap her up in your arms and hug her . You know her feelings as she is being taken away from what she know . As the story continues you see her grow and become a strong young woman that will do anything to protect the ones she loves . Even though sometimes she doesn't know what she is doing .
The author did a great job with the characters and story line , but I think that someone younger would like this book also. The way the author writes the conversations make it an easy read for some one from the age of 13 and up. The dialogue was just a little choppy for me . Overall I really liked this story and the characters . I can't wait to see more from this author and her characters . The story line was a great introduction to paranormal romance for young people.
This is a great book for your teenager to get them started in reading paranormal. This is a great introduction. I am going to be giving this book to some teens in my life. I am thinking this book would be a great read for some one between the ages of 13 to 17. So if you want to introduce your young reader to paranormal this will be the book for you. So check it out
Moonlight Lost is a young adult paranormal book written by Sabrina Archer. It is the first book in the Moonlight trilogy. The book starts off with the death of Jayde’s father, which becomes the reason that Jayde’s mother decides that her and Jayde could use a move and start fresh. This doesn’t sit well with Jayde, she is in the middle of her senior year of high school and about to turn 18, but she decides to do it for her mother without much of a fight. Days before they are ready to move Jayde sees a guy at her school with dark eyes that seems to call her, but he disappears so fast that she doesn’t really believe that she even saw him, at first anyway. She then runs into the same dark eyed stranger when she and her mother stop at a hotel on their move to Florida. There seems to be something about this stranger that she just can’t shake. Soon after Jayde and her mother start to settle into their new home in Florida Jayde gets a startling message. One the way to get help from an old friend of her mother’s their car gets run off the road and Jayde is left without either one of her parents. But Jayde is saved by the same dark eyed stranger that she keeps running into. He informs her that when she turns 18 she will receive the magic that she was born into. This magic comes at a price though, and people who want it. What will happen to Jayde? And what will become of the romance brewing between her and her mystery man? This is a really nice young adult paranormal romance and a very enjoyable read. The relationship between Jayde and her dark eyed man is really sweet and so reminiscent of that first teenage love. This book is also a really nice introduction to someone who is interested in paranormal reads. That being said, if you do not like YA paranormal romance this is not the book for you! But if that is the type of book you are looking for that this is a must read! I plan on buying a copy of this for my niece for the upcoming holidays. Archer is a talented independent author, and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
This book has a lot of really amazing details. This author is dedicated and i as a young reader really love how she uses the feelings and emotions. Throughout this book i was completely amazed. It is really hard to tell that she is new at writing. Sabrina is wonderful. The next book will be twice as good. She really puts a mental picture in my mind. I can see this plot becoming a new movie maybe the book that hits hard at high school. They might even teach it in schools as an example to be anything you want to be. This book just keeps everyone wishing for more. This is a must read especially for those new to reading or looking for innocent fun.
Jayde Thomas is a young soon to be adult who always wanted to be normal. She learns of her fathers death early in the story. she has to move away from her best friend and a recent hot guy she has been secretly crushing on. when she moves she learns of her true past. She isn't a normal teenager she has to beat her own mother and father in order to survive. she even learns that she was adopted. How much power could one 18 year old have?
can she ever avenge her adopted parents?
Bently is the hottest guy ever. He makes jayde's skin rise. His big dark brown eyes they are almost black and they sink in her attention. Bently keep Jayde wanting him. Bently was to watch her. That shouldn't be hard because he can't keep his eyes off of her.
"I stare at him losing myself in the rich, ebony hue of his eyes. The way his long, inky lashes frame those eyes give me butterflies."
" You are the one true hope for this world, human and supernatural alike, but you don't have to try and do it alone"
will Bently and Jayde wind up forever?
Will Jayde wind up able to defeat her birth parents to avenge her adopted parents death?
Will jayde a simple teenager have the ability to defeat people who have had powers centuries longer than she has?
This is surly a book I think any young girl would love to read! It is full of great sadness along with great friendship and love. The storyline flows well throughout the book and you don't find yourself getting board. The uniqueness of the characters and their different powers making them all work together is really nice also. It's a true story of friends and their teamwork to protect each other. I may not be a young adult anymore, but that doesn't mean I can't like this story. It would make for a great book for a reading group. I think it would give the young people something fun to read and really be able to talk about. I will be suggesting it to my son's reading group at his school. Even though it's YA I feel that it would be suitable for children at least 10 and up to read. I really loved the way she used description words so you can feel like you are right there with them. If you want to pick up a book you know you and or your YA would love, this would be that book! Now I'm off to bed. Tomorrow I'll be starting the next book! I'm excited to read about her friends Necromanceing powers just from the prologue at the end of the book! You can tell it's going to be one heak of a story about an inward struggle between the dark side of her powers!
Sabrina Archer is a new author with much to offer to any reader, especially Middle School/Young Adult readers. Moonlight Lost is book 1 in the Moonlight Series.
I won't give away anything from the story...but, here's a little of what it's about.
Jayde is a high school senior who is uprooted by her sorrowful mother in an effort to evade memories in their home town...or so she believes.
Things quickly prove to be more than they seem, as her life is ripped into shreds and she is tossed forward into a world completely unknown to her.
She finds comfort in Suzanne and Bently, who have known her all her life. They teach her all she needs to know about herself and her abilities. She and Bently form this uncanny connection.
Just when she thinks she understands her new life, she learns the unthinkable...
Can she overcome this new devastating news and save her dear friend? You won't regret reading Moonlight Lost.
Archer has a fantastic writing style that allows to see the characters and their surroundings in vivid color, while feeling the emotions of what they are going through. I look forward to her work for years to come. I will definitely be placing Moonlight Lost in my classroom library.
I received this book from DRC Promotions in return for a fair and honest review.
This is a fast-paced, action packed and magical debut from Sabrina Archer. It starts with a tragedy which means that Jayde and her mom are moving. Jayde is none too impressed with this as she is halfway through her senior year but needs must and off they go. It is at this point when the story, and the action, really takes off. Jayde finds out more about herself than she ever thought she would, including the fact that she is a powerful witch with people who are trying to kill her.
I loved how all the characters came to be together and I'll admit to having a favourite in Ayden! One thing that caught me by surprise though was the fading away of the 'granny'. Jayde and her mom were moving back with her when things happen and she's never mentioned again. This surprised me but I guess you can't tie up everything in a neat little bow!
Moonlight Lost will take you through your paces as you participate in Jayde's life, along with all the excitement and angst that it currently holds.
Recommended for all fans of Young Adult Fantasy/Paranormal and I'm really looking forward to the next one!
"As I open the door I see a pair of dark eyes watching me. They are so dark and intense. I don't want to look away."
I fell in love with this cute YA supernatural story and cannot wait for more. It is about a young teenage girl whose life will change after she turns 18 years old. She will quickly face a whirlwind of events that will turn her life upside down.
"When his lips finally land on mine its electrifying. Every part of me melts into him. His full lips are so soft and he tastes so sweet."
Jayde will meet new people that will protect her from the new powers in the world and powers she will have herself. I love, love, love me some Bentley! Bring on more of his british accent and powerful kisses that will make you melt.
"You may be a powerful witch but you're also a girl. A girl I'm in love with and wouldn't know how to go on without."
I was gifted this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Archer has written a sweet little paranormal YA romance packed full of adventure and magic.
We start the story meeting Jayde and her mom, Constance. They've recently lost Jayde's father, and end up moving to another state. Accidents happen, and life changes course quite abruptly for Jayde while she meets Bently, the super hot love interest. She's thrown into a life of things she thought only existed in the movies, and Bently is there to save her, show her the way and root her on after discovering Jayde's best friend Scarlet needs to be saved.
I adored this story, and the only thing that keeps me from rating it higher was the dialogue. It felt much younger than the 17 and 18 year old characters, and as a result, the story didn't play out to the best of it's ability for me. I hope to read more of this trilogy in the future and can't wait to see what happens next.
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
So this is a 4+ 1/2 stars book for me.
I really enjoyed this story about a teenage witch and the secrets that have kept her in the dark. I read this really quickly as it was a simple and easy read. This is the kind of book I would hand on to my young teen knowing that he would enjoy it and have no issues with reading it.
The one thing that didn't sit well for me was that Jayde and Bentley seemed to just be in a relationship. There didn't seem to be any real start to their relationship.
Other than that Bentley was gorgeous and Jayde was a strong witch who dealt with her world falling apart around her quite well.
Moonlight Lost by Sabrina Archer was a great read that is very fast paced. I liked the storyline, and if you are looking for a short read, this book will fit the bill. There are vampires, witches, shifters, etc that come together for one common goal. I give this book 4 stars for the way the author is able to bring so many paranormal entities into one story. There are parts that will have your heart thumping wondering what is going to happen next. Give this one a shot.
Good read even though i am a full grown middle aged adult. I enjoyed the first book in the series. It was a fast, easy, enjoyable, one day read. I have purchased book 2 Moonlight Fade and am looking forward to reading what happens next in the great new world of Jayde.
I recommend this to any reader wanting an enjoyable quick read.

I purchased Moonlight Lost on the recommendation from a friend. I simply fell in love with it. I adored the relationship with Jayde and Bently. Jayde's bound with her best friend, Scarlet, was endearing and sweet. I look forward to the next book in the trilogy.
This is such a great YA book full of magic and excitement. Sabrina Archer did a great job with this book. It is one of the best YA books I have read. I can't wait for the next one!
