Natural Wiccan Arissa Kensington takes a job at the vampire club, Fang, in an attempt to help protect the vampires’ mates who are being targeted by anti-vampire fanatics. She expects to perform protection spells and help out around the coven’s office, but she never expects to meet her mate or that he will have flashing purple eyes and double fangs.
One thousand-year-old vampire Brone has spent the better part of his immortal life with a sword in his hand. One look at the beautiful Wiccan, Arissa, and he knows that he’s found his beloved mate, and he’s willing to walk away from everything that he knows for her. When the coven’s enemies attack the one meant to protect them, can Brone get to her in time?
This story contains a vampire assassin, the Wiccan who loves him, a dragon who needs saving, and a heart-stopping battle. Expect possessive vampire behavior, spell casting, a sassy Wiccan, and plenty of neck biting.
Ms. Butler has surpassed all my expectations, she has always been one of my favorite authors but she outdid herself with this story.
Who could imagine that so much brawn could be full of so much sensuality.
Brone is a very ancient vampire with a reputation for his coldness and ruthlessness, but one look at Arissa a witch turns him into a dolting pup...Arissa is swept off her feet when she sets eyes on that big hunk of a vampire, They can't wait to get at each other.
There are dark forces at work though, will he be able to protect his witch, will she be strong enough.
This story is very compelling, kept me in suspense and constantly swept me off my feet with the sensual passion and the love. I never had a story curl my toes. The action kept me on edge and I could not put it down till the end.
Arissa got her Knight in Shining Armor in the guise of a vampire.
I love the mix of dragon, panther, wolf, wiccan and a couple more like a fallen angel and a seraphim, oh and don't forget the vampires.
I highly recommend this book, you have to read it to appreciate how good it is....Kuddos to you Ms Butler
What can I say... R.E. Butler has done it again! She writes the best books, I love all of them! I'm so glad Brone got his HEA, he so deserved it! Arissa was the perfect mate for him, and I absolutely loved Sang! I will read ANYTHING with Ms. Butler's name on it! Can't wait for the next book!
Another fantastic book by R. E. Butler!!!!! A Slash of Savagery is the 8th book in the Wiccan-Were-Bear series and it was well worth the wait. Brone is a the right hand vampire to Mishka, the leader of their coven. Arissa is a natural earth witch that just moved to the area and to seal the alliance between the witches and the vampires, Arissa goes to work at Fang, a vampire club, owned by Mishka. As soon as Brone and Arissa see each other, they know that they belong to one another, this was very fast paced but didn't feel rushed. The chemistry that Brone and Arissa had was off the charts, I liked how accepting they both were of each other. It was pretty refreshing to read about a relationship with no friction or doubts, the both knew 100% that they were made for each other and that was that. If you are looking for a great book to read, you won't regret picking any/all of R.E. Butler's books, I have yet to read one that I didn't highly enjoy.
R E Butler continues to wow me. This book has it all, magic, mystery, dragons, weres, vampires, alpha males, a feisty heroine, evil, and love. Did I miss anything? The only complaint I have is I wish it was longer. Not that anything's missing I just was enjoying it so much I didn't want it to end. I won't give away the story except to say you've got to read this for yourself. I read this in one sitting just couldn't put it down. Am I gushing yeah it was that good! Bravo Ms Butler Bravo! I received this gratis for an honest review.
RE Butler spins a good tale. For me it just does not get old because it is about the characters, understanding them and feeling what they feel. A thousand year old vampire who has known little but fighting and protecting his own meets his true mate witch. But the vampire mates are being attacked by human extremists. There is also a nice twist to this plot. Great story.
Wow. This was the first one in this series I've read. I know its the 8th which is why I was amazed at being able to come in and not feel lost. Her characters are amazing even the secondary characters are well thought out and described so u can understand them. I love the way she used so many different paranormal creatures and yet the story was believable amongst its genera. I will definately go back and read the others. A must read in my opinion.
This is the 8 book in the Wicca-Were-Bear series. This story is about Carisa,a witch and her mate Brone. Carissa is new to the Coven and the town. Brone is the right hand man of Mishka, the city's head vampire. The Coven and the vampires want to seal an alliance so Carisa goes to the vampire bar, Fang, to work. When she sees Brone the whole world changes for them both. Although there is a hidden danger for them all, love usually prevails, will it this time? A must read in this series.
R.E. Butler has done it again!! I love the latest addition to her Wicca-Were-Bear series. This story, featuring Brone a 1,000 yr/old vampire and Arissa a modern Wiccan, draws you in from the beginning and keeps your attention until the end. I actually read it in one sitting...then had to go back and read it again!
R.E. Butler has an excellent book with this 8th book on the werebear series. Brone is a vampire assassin for the Cleveland Coven. Arissa is his beloved and a wiccan of the earth. Arissa is offered a postion at the coven to help protect the mates of the others from being attacked by the church. This story also includes dragon shifters. The story will keep you engrosses from the begining.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I LOVE THIS AUTHOR!! Arissa and Brone = PURE FIRE. I didn’t expect to love a vampire-Wiccan pairing this much, but their bond was electric from the start. Brone’s quiet intensity and Arissa’s firecracker energy balanced each other beautifully, and I adored how willing he was to change his whole life for her. Plus, we got some serious action with a dragon in danger, a Wiccan standing her ground, and a vampire assassin being a total swoonfest. Absolutely delicious from start to finish.
Absolutely brilliant addition to this series. Loved the action, the characters and the storyline. Hope some of the characters from the Coven get their stories too. Kidnapped baby dragons, oaths of allegiance, nasty vampires and evil wiccans made one of the most exciting stories in this series for me. I have owned this book for a while and have read and reviewed it before but reviews submitted from the back of books seem to be missing. No hardship to reread this one at all.
Bro he has met his beloved! Arasia A natural Wicca has come to work at fang! The live between the vampire assassin and the Wiccan is a whole lot of fun and intrigue!
Arissa is a powerful Wiccan who has recently joined a new coven. In order to create an alliance between wiccans and vampires she is asked to take a job at the vampire club called ‘Fang’. Arissa takes the job working nights as a receptionist where she uses her Wiccan magic to protect the vampires’ mates who are being targeted by anti-vampire fanatics. When Arissa meets Brone, a thousand year old vampire, sparks instantly fly. The pair are beloved mates destined to be together, making Arissa an even bigger target for the coven’s enemies. This is the 8th book in the Wicca-Were-Bear series; however you do not need to read the whole series to follow the book. The romance scenes between Arissa and Brone build up rapidly. Their understanding of the beloved bond helps the fast paced romance heat up quickly without feeling rushed. Brone’s change from cold alpha male and deadly assassin to a sensitive, caring and protective lover, who’s willing to do anything for his mate, creates a heartwarming and white hot passionate romance. Butler has created the long awaited perfect mate for Brone in Arissa, this loveable but feisty pair complement each other beautifully. Butler mentions in the characters from the previous novels without going into any depth; it would be useful to know a little more about Elizabeth, her family and some of the other characters. This information would contextualize the novel by connecting it to the previous novels, and their shared world, without disrupting the plot or confusing any new reader. Butler’s fiery romance and use of so many diverse mythical creatures adds to the suspense of the fast paced, action packed, plot, creating an exciting and believable world with compelling characters.
I received this book for free by the author for an honest review. Thank you, R.E. Butler.
A Slash of Savagery is a love at first site; love and attraction that keeps you smiling though out the entire book. The character Arissa Kensington is so refreshing. She is such an easy going character, I love the way she is able to except her instant attraction to the very old vampire, Brone. I guess being a witch you just go with the flow in the supernatural world! She cares deeply about everybody, whether it be supernatural beings or humans.
When Arissa first meets Brone, it was at The Cleveland Mother Earth Store. Well, not meet exactly, more like glimpsed. Mishka, the head of the vampire coven, needed a favor from the North Corner witches; he needs them to help protect the mates of the vampires. As they are still human, this makes it hard to protect the mates from the growing anti-vampire movement spearheaded by the First Church of Humanity. Arrisa agrees to help the vampire coven, which is dangerous because vampires love the blood of witches. She helps them, not the slightest bit intimidated, caring more about the safety of others then her own. She quickly became friends with the mates and their vampires. Casting spells around the club to protect the innocent from others who wish to do evil harm.
I can’t begin to tell you how much I love this book. The characters were brilliant and I easily fell in love with Sang. I really liked Arissa; she was the perfect match for Brone as his mate. I liked the author’s writing style and I refused to put down the book! R. E. Butler introduced me to some great characters in her supernatural world and I’m delighted
In an attempt to protect the vampires’ mates, natural Wiccan Arissa takes a job at the vampire club Fang. Brone took one look and knew he had found his beloved mate and willing to walk away from everything for her but their enemies are now targeting Arissa in this thrilling paranormal romance.
This fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on their toes with suspense, drama, action and passion. The author brings the story to life with well written scenes and details that capture the imagination and the strong compelling characters invite the reader to visit their world and well orchestrated believable action scenes add lots of excitement.
The attraction between Brone and Arissa burns up the pages from first sight and well it builds to an explosion of red hot sex scenes that scorch the reader with a fiery inferno of passion. Finding his mate, is the best thing that ever happened to this broody, alpha vampire male and after a thousand years I think he deserves one and Arissa is a perfect fit.
Spine tingling tension builds throughout the story as the danger escalates and I must stay that some of Arissa’s protection spells are very cool and the bad guys certainly get what they deserve. I was completely caught up in the story from the very beginning and the reader threw in a few surprises that I really enjoyed as well and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Some short novel authors expect you to just jump in to a story and accept what is being stated. RE gave an intruging beginning. I am not one to focus on grammer, puncuation, etc. I want the meat of the story. I was expecting to devil into Mischia's story, but instead she leads you into the #1 bodyguard. I enjoyed who she paired him with based on her ablities as a witch. There were many parts to this story and interwoven very well. I enjoyed the humor and even laughed aloud at some. I actually felt like part of the story instead of a reader. I am impressed that she went ahead with more instead of stopping after they found each other. She took us through their bond and adventure as well as introducing more heros and heriones to this short story I loved this book and I will be looking forward to reading more from her.
Mates to the vampires are being taken during the daylight when they aren't as protected. Mishka, the vampire master, has asked the local coven of Wiccans to help protect the vampire's mates.
Brone is one of Mishka's right hand vamps. when he meets Arissa he has found his mate. Arissa is totally taken with Brone as well. When a master from another coven, Restik, comes for a visit. Arissa is able to tell that there is something that they brought that is hidden with magic. It was a dragon shifter child. Arissa and Brone save the child and in doing so Mishka has to appease Restik . The dragon shifter child bit Arissa to mark her to show his life-debt to her for saving his life. Restik is not happy about losing his "pet". Can Brone keep Arissa safe? Will he lose his mate after finally finding her after all the years of being alone?
Love when different super naturals get together This is a very well written story with love and hate along with witches and vampires, shifters to include dragons and a lot more. Humans fanatics trying to kill off helpless mates and a new witch becomes a vampire mate. But she’s is very special in just being her. I love how this story brings so many different beings together for a common cause, to protect. Even though this is part of a series of books, it is a self-contained story and can be read separately from the others and still thoroughly enjoyed. I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Arissa is a powerful natural wiccan an a couple of months ago moved to Ohio to be a part of the Northern Ohio Wiccan Coven. Then she meets Brone a vampire and she can't stop thinking about him. Ariss a volunteers to join the vampire coven for an alliance between the vapire and wiccans. Brone is a thousand year old vampire and he lived through a lot in his long life. When he met Arissa he new she was his beloved. When the made an alliance line Wicca covent he was hoping it would be Arissa who Lorene would send. A Slash of Savagery is a wonderful love story with a lot of drama and a fabulous twist to it!!!
The only reason this book gets only four stars is because it is too short. That said it is a fun, sexy, if fast read and if you have read any of Butler's books you know that is how she writes. The characters are also fun and sexy. There is nothing deep or powerful in these books but that is ok because sometimes you just want to be entertained. Butler's books entertain with capital E. That is why I have all her series and will keep buying them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Loved this new addition to the Wiccan-Were-Bear with a more in depth look at the vampires. I look forward to more. There is just something about R. E. Butler's writing style that I absolutely love. She pulls you in and doesn't let go. I like how she introduces new things, but doesn't overwhelm you with it. I would LOVE if she started a Dragon series. There was a small peek in this one. Overall a good book and I can't wait for more!
This series is always a quick read and I am always surprised at how much I like them. This was much better than the last one. The author is back on track and telling a story that is filled with passion and battles. I love the hot hot hot men. Brone isn't too likeable in the past stories but it turns out just the right woman was all he needed to show his likeable side. Arissa is strong but not unbending and so likeable it is no wonder Brone turns all sweet.
I have enjoyed the Wicca Were-Bear series and this one is no different than the rest. I loved seeing the dragon shifters and how special their loyalty is. Of course having the toughest, scariest, baddest of the bad vamps find his beloved was swoon worthy.
Three stars for the storyline and four wet panties for some super sexy supernatural smut.
This book was another amazing addition to this great series! Arissa and Brone were absolutely perfect together. Brone was extremely sweet and protective! She was so giving to everyone and it was extremely touching. I loved getting to see Tosh and his nest. I look forward to seeing more about them!
Another great book by Mrs. Butler and I can't wait for more :D
This book deserved all 5 stars, once you start reading this book you cannot put it down.Brone and Arissa were meant for each other, all the vampires were in trouble, they were being attacked by some Looney tunes church.Enter the little witches saviour,if not for them she would have died.I sure hope Mischka gets his own book.
Loved this book....My favorite vampire Brone got a story and what a story...Witches, wolves, dragons and even angels, what more can you ask for...oh yes hot sexy scenes...got it. For a reading gooooood time, R.E. Butler's A Slash of Savagery is it. Anything by R.E. Butler is good to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Five stars, not enough. Rating in my personal book is one hundred stars. There is nothing I didn't love about this story. Everyone who begins to read this story won't stop reading until they have read to the last page. Thank you R. E. Butler, am waiting for next (Wiccan-Were-Bear Book)
