He came to Atlanta to close a deal. He didn’t expect to catch feelings.
Damien’s only goal is to lock in a career-changing opportunity and get back to D.C.—no distractions, no detours. But when his Lyft driver turns out to be Suni, an effortlessly cool artist with dreams bigger than her city, his plans get rerouted in the most unexpected way.
She’s just trying to make it to the end of the day with her dreams—and sanity—intact.
Suni’s used to hustle, not heart-thumping encounters with out-of-town charmers. But Damien’s wit, ambition, and genuine vibe throw her off course. He sees her. He listens. And when their day spirals from small talk to shootouts to mural reveals and milkshakes... it’s this ride might change both of their lives.
One city. One spark. One day that could rewrite everything.
Told over the course of one electric, unpredictable day in Atlanta, *Drive Me Crazy* is a modern Black love story that blends humor, hustle, and heart—proving that sometimes, the best detours lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.
Big thanks to Tay Moore for sending me an ARC to read!
If you love stories where two people cross paths by chance and end up changing each other’s lives for the better, this book is definitely for you. It's sweet, real, and full of heart.
From the moment Damien and Suni meet, you can feel the spark between them. They’re both driven to follow their dreams, but in different ways—Damien is working hard, while Suni, though a driver by day, is also an artist at heart. Watching them push each other to chase what they truly want in life is both moving and inspiring. The chemistry between them is undeniable and just perfect.
However, my only critique is that the pacing felt a bit rushed. The connection between Damien and Suni is so beautiful that I wish we could have spent more time exploring their relationship and personal growth. If the story had slowed down a little and let their bond develop more organically, it would have been even more immersive and emotionally impactful.
Still, it’s a heartfelt story with so much to offer—definitely worth reading if you’re a fan of romance.
This book is full of very descriptive scenes. Following Suni's and Damien's day through Atlanta. They have an "inst-love" type attraction together and act like they have known each other for years. The story has great diversity representation, too. For me, it felt like Suni and Damien acted as though they always knew each other in an unnatural way. Their relationship was very fast-paced; this was no slow burn. A lot happened in one day, and although it might be possible for it all to happen, it seemed a bit odd to me for all of it to happen in one day and for them to be as close as they were. The book felt like it was 90% descriptions, 8% dialogue, and 2% plot. Describing the color of the toothbrush being used and that it was specifically Oral-B felt a bit overkill to me. Everything was a specific brand. It felt like an ad at times. Overall, it was not for me, and I don't think I would recommend it to others in my life. I like insta-love, usually, but this was too much too fast for me. I might just be used to slow burns, but that's just my opinion. If you like the blurb, a fast-paced insta-love, and a very diverse character set, then this book might be more suited to you. One of the few things I did enjoy was the diversity and cultural rep it had.
To me, this was a romance book written by someone who has never truly been in love. It lacks sufficient build-up and emotion, as well as the thoughts going through the characters' heads. However, this author truly does have the potential to write and create an excellent book. You can tell the passion is there, and they have read some excellent books in which they have incorporated many parts. As another reviewer noted, it often felt like an advertisement, as it discussed unnecessary information in detail, frequently mentioning brands, while the emotional aspects were perhaps skimmed over too quickly. Some parts of this book were logically inconsistent regarding timelines, and previously mentioned elements did not align. If you are going to read this book, be aware that it feels like an early draft of a romance novel, missing the mark on being something extraordinary. I can’t wait to see this author grow and improve. I truly believe they have what it takes to write a phenomenal book. I was kindly gifted this and am beyond grateful I was able to read and review it.
Modern day romance in the backdrop of ATL. Two strangers and a chance meeting sparking natural chemistry and good vibes. Suni just like her name is a brilliant, crafty, smart young lady with a beautiful mind. As her counter part Damien on a mission proving just as driven, smart and kind. As the plot thickens, its intricate details masterfully capture the nuances of a genuine relationship, presenting characters and close call situations that resonate with real-life experiences. The easy going flow, sweet amped up engagements and humorous situations left a captivating narrative standing out offering remarkable depth and authenticity. Its portrayal of everyday life feels remarkably true-to-life, drawing you in that feels both intimate and relatable. So get your wine and cozy up for this delightful read.
“Drive me Crazy” is a short romance novel surrounding Damien and Suni. Gives she fell first, but he fell harder love vibes. I love the chemistry between the two leads, it had me turning the pages to see what the outcome of their status would be.
The author tells the story from a multiple-character point of view. As a reader, if it’s not done right it makes it harder for me to follow along. In the beginning, the multiple POVs worked, but in the end it was a bit chaotic. This will be my only con to the novel. While I loved the story, I can’t rate it a 5 due to this.
I would recommend this book to all love-at-first-sight readers.
For this to be Tay’s first fiction book, I’m beyond impressed! Drive Me Crazy is a true page-turner,the kind of story you don’t want to put down. The details are sharp, vivid, and immersive, making it easy to fall completely in love with the characters. Damien and Suni? They’re not just characters anymore they feel like family. I wasn’t expecting to be this hooked, but here I am, already anxiously awaiting the next installment in the series. Tay has something special here, and I absolutely cannot wait for what’s next!
First I want to start that I did receive this book as an ARC.
The ending is perfect. The chemistry between Damien and Suni is absolutely amazing and perfect in my opinion. She’s an independent woman who has the most amazing work ethic and to top it off, she’s an artist. Reading this book reminds me that love out there does exist for others and not just me. Their blossoming love is beautiful. Thank you Tay Moore for giving me the opportunity to read for very first Romance Novel. It’s beautiful and amazing. I highly recommend this book when it releases
The chemistry between Damien and Suni is electric, with their witty banter and deepening connection adding depth to the fast-paced storyline. The novel also delves into themes of ambition, self-discovery, and the transformative power of unexpected detours. This is such a wholesome love story and very realistic.
I enjoyed this fast paced read about an unlikely match made on a business trip! I love the banter and relatability of the characters. Although some scenes were a bit drawn out, I did enjoy the storytelling, which allowed me to feel as if I were right there with the characters! Drive Me Crazy was both fun and refreshing!
I read this an ARC an I loved the urban meet cute between Suni and Damien. It was very relatable in terms of relationships and I loved their communication style! Easy and fun read!
