This was more of a novella than a full book, which was disappointing. The premise was actually intriguing, though it didn’t end up being as edge-of-your-seat than promised. Alex’s past came out pretty easily considering all the angst we went through to get there. There also wasn’t much emotion; this sounds weird, but the characters were pretty flat in that they just kind of responded to the situation logically and didn’t express much emotion, except for the points where there was sooo much emotion. Overall, not my favorite.

The only thing I can think is I've read better.
- A distinct problem with editing/proofreading.
- Unfulfilled plot threads .
- Lack of respect.
- Too rapid a relationship development for the characters.
- Unbelievable HEA.

I just really didn't feel it.

...trying some of her other books to see if this is an anomaly...

It was nice to read a romance story about a hot male and attractive female without the copious amounts of sex added to it. It was refreshing to read a story build up a relationship and make it believable although it happened in about a month.

Page turner, the character feel real but the plot is not believeable.
I don't understand how Alex has lot free time for Andrea's interview and Andrea's questiom is not good enough. She seems interesting in Alex's past.

Andrea was a reporter for the World News Today in Los Angeles. She had been working on a story to take a company down for making subpar baby seats, but had not come up with the information. Her editor-in-chief took her off the story and told her if she wanted to keep her job she would do the cover story of Alexander Donovan who was the magazines man of the year. He agreed to be interviewed, but the magazine wants something besides the fluff he has already given to other reporters. Andrea meets with Alex and he is more handsome than he was in his pictures. She senses that he is hiding something, but every time she starts asking questions, he steers her in another direction. Alex realizes that Andrea may be beautiful, but she is smart and he can’t give her fluff like the others.

This is a very good book that you keep wondering what is Alex keeping a secret about. Ms. Freethy does a wonderful job of pushing and pulling the feelings between Alex and Andrea. Alex has been hurt as a child, and he is so good about helping others. Even though he brought himself up, he has a good nurturing ability. Andrea became a reporter like her father was, but she is trying to make her own name. She has a twin sister that is getting married who is different as night and day, but the two of them are very close. I enjoyed the book very much and was glad I won the book. I voluntarily read the book and wrote a review.

The more I read, the more unsettled I became with the idea of a romance between a reporter who is doing her utmost to find the secret that Alex is clearly hiding.

I find her behaviour abhorrent actually - I knew the story revolved around Andrea trying to dig the dirt on Alex, but I hadn't realised up to this point just how uncomfortable I was, reading this. Alex is also a bit creepy though - I mean, he KNEW what she wanted and he should never have agreed to be interviewed.

This is going to have a HEA but think about it... Could YOU trust someone who is trying to find out all your hidden secrets just so she can save her job? I don't think I ever could.

I'm not (currently) going to rate this. I think Andrea's belief - that its okay trying to ruin someone's life simply because you want to hang on to your job - is pretty despicable and it doesn't make for a pleasant read.

( I am SO hoping that this ends with Alex telling her where to go and finding someone with a decent moral stance, but I doubt it. So I am not reading on.)

I loved this book, now I want to read the whole series. I read it in less than 24 hours because I could not put it down. A charming story - Andrea is tasked with writing the article of a lifetime to save her job. Her subject, multimillionaire Alex, fights her from the start worrying that the secrets of his past will be discovered. All while they dance around the fact that they are quickly falling in love. Its a must not miss story!

I loved this book. Andrea is a writer and Alex is her subject. They have an interesting relationship. She has to struggle with how much of his truth she wants to write about. I can't wait to read more about the other characters in future books.

The first book in a new series by Barbara Freethy introduces us to the characters. It's contemporary romance with women of today, professional and strong. They know what they want and are working to make it happen.

"Kiss Me Forever" has an interesting premise with characters that have potential; but the plot timeline isn't believable. The two main characters aren't fleshed out enough for me to care about them even though I read the entire book..

<><> Story Overview <><>
^^ ~ Andrea’s investigative report on faulty child car seats was going nowhere, so she got assigned to cover the magazine's Man of the Year story. Doing a cover story on Alexander Donovan was not what she wanted to do, but when she was told she could take the gig or find another job she didn’t have much of a choice.

—“"So Alexander Donovan is my get-out-of-the-doghouse card?"
"Exactly."

So if she had to do this assignment, Andrea was bound and determined it wouldn’t be another fluff piece on the sexy playboy. She was going to find some dirt.

<><> Characters <><>
Hero: "Alexander Donovan; Age: 32; Occupation: owner of a company that creates video games and constructs some of the most sophisticated model trains in the world

* The following words/phrases were used to describe Hero: philanthropist, the embodiment of generosity and hope, his parents died when he was 12, on his own since 17, no family, no close friends, made his first million before he was 25, ranked among the top thirty wealthiest men in the country. charming, doesn't take himself too seriously, intensely loyal, protector

Heroine: Andrea Blain; Age: late 20’s, I think; Occupation: reporter at World News Today

* The following words/phrases were used to describe Heroine: has a twin sister, workaholic, father passed away when she was 13, has a passion for her career, honest, curious, speaks from the heart, ambitious

<><> A Few Thoughts <><>

^^ ~ what happened to her child seat story? It was brought up and then never revisited.

^^ ~ the big dilemma was predictable. And, Andrea kind of ticked me off when she had to “think” about what she was going to do

^^ ~ Alex had a bit more to his character than I was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised.

It was a good story

This romance book is one of those books that are ideal to read when you feel a bit stuck with other books you already have started.
The story was easy to follow, the characters well built, we had romance and it wasn't explicit.
I would say that the main character is Alex, because is the one with more depth and the one in my opinion who grows more.
The charcter arc of both Alex and Andrea wasn't impressive but it was good. I would have loved to actually read the article she wrote about him, and see his reaction.
Also there was the other article she was writting about, and the question of if the PI of the news company was actually good or not. I would have loved seeing Alex helping Andrea with that case.
They were instantly atraccted to each other and they fall in love in 10 days. I always have a bit of a hard time beliving the instalove in stories, but I guess if you enjoy charcters falling madly in love in no time, you will enjoy this book a lot.
The ML's story is very touching and inspiring in many aspects. For him to have gotten where he was with that past was beautiful to see. Also the lesson Andrea learns about what is more important in life is very nice. I think overall the book has a good message, the characters act like adults and is a fast book to read.

This is a beautiful story about Alexander who is a very successful man and Andrea who is struggling in her job as a writer. Andrea gives her all on each story and without getting any results on her current story her boss threatens her that her next story needs to be above par or she could loss her job. The new story is the cover story, Man of the Year, about Alexander who is very private and no other writer has been able to write anything other than superficial details. Alex has secrets about his past and is hiding them for unselfish reasons. After meeting and spending some time with Andrea, Alex finds himself opening up to her and sharing his private life and hoping she does not dig too deep. Andrea figures out that Alex is trying to distract her with the time they spend together so she pushes and happens to be in the right place to learn more about Alex. Once Andrea figures out Alex’s past will she chose Alex or her career? I loved these characters and all they stand for! I look forward to reading additional stories by Ms. Freethy. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Andrea is a writer that's been given one last chance. Her source for her story has disappeared & her employers want her to drop that story since it's taking too long. She's given the task of writing the cover story for the Man of the Year, Alexander Donovan. No one has been able to get more than superficial information on him & the editor is hoping Andrea can come up with more.

Alex is hiding his past. He's been able to keep the other reporters from digging deep but he senses Andrea will be different. He feels he has to keep her so busy she can't look into anything on her own. So why is he taking her to places & introducing her to people he usually keeps reporters far away from? Why can't he stay away from her?

I really enjoyed this one. The two main characters are both hurt by their past & have to learn to get past it. The chemistry between them is intense. The interactions between them & the secondary characters add dimension & additional insights into their character. Sweet romance!

Kiss Me Forever is the 1st book in the Bachelors and Bridesmaids series and what a great way to start the series! ! Can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

Andrea is an investigative reporter that has to do a cover story on the “Man of the Year” Alex Donovan. If she doesn’t find the in-depth story that will sell millions for World News Today she will lose her job. When she meets Alex, he isn’t what she expected and soon feelings come into play and she is not sure that exposing his past is the right thing to do…..but….does she want to keep her job?

Alex has read her stories and believes she will do right by him so he agrees to the interview and subsequent shadowing into his life. Andrea knows he is hiding something but whenever she questions him more deeply he changes the subject. Can he keeps his past in the past while developing feelings for Andrea as time goes on?

Can these two find a middle ground for her story while growing into their HEA??

Andrea’s and Alex’s Love and Trust Based HEA! 3.75*****

Andrea, an investigative reporter, was sent to follow and interview her newspaper’s ‘Man of the Year’, young, single, wealthy, philanthropic, handsomely sexy, video gamer, Alex. Alex’s charisma was thwarted at all angles as they slowly fell in love with each other, as Andrea dug deeper into his past life and got closer to his secrets. Andrea was forced to do the ethical thing as she discovered Alex’s hidden secret of abandonment by his mother, her addictive history, and her new family.
Great characters and plot, with an underlying theme of not letting ones past impede ones path to love and happiness. I admired Alex’s motive for his initial lie in protecting his half sisters’ and his mother’s new life. He does have a big heart! Also, I hope that Liz is truly the next to find love and retain control of her father’s company. Yes, another HEA!

KISS ME FOREVER by Barbara Freethy. Bachelors and Bridesmaids book 1
Andre is to write the cover story for " the man of the year" Alex Donovan.
They can't be serious, he's a playboy, computer games, even if a cover story is a plum job, no. Find an angle to write about, it will sell millions, or find another job. She is to shadow him, and what is he expecting a " bulldog" type of a reporter. Seeing her, surprises him, and the challenges. Having read her articles, they were intense and serious, so why doing this interview. Can she find the secrets that haven't been told, and if she does will she write them. How far will Andre go for a job.For Alex he needs some one to trust, could there be a woman that would. A delightful story of secrets, hope, and love. All ages will enjoy reading. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!
It is a captivating & emotional story.
It really pulled at all my heartstrings.
Andrea Blain is a journalist. She's been
after a hot story for six weeks, with no story to show for it. She's given the option, do a indept front page article on
"Man of The Year", Alex Donovan or else.
Alex is the illustrious billionaire playboy.
He has always been private about his
life. He only tells reporters what
he wants them to know. That is, till
he meets Andrea. She knows when
there's more to a story, then what is
being revealed. As Andrea perseveres
to get to the truth, Alex does everything
he can to avoid Andrea.
But, the hard part is, Andrea & Alex's connection was undeniable.

This book made me feel differently than any book in a long time. Your childhood shapes your future. You can go down, float along, or pull yourself up and do great things despite (or because of) your upbringing. Barbara Freethy has written a story that goes there that makes you appreciate your own story, and makes you want to hug that little boy and just love him.

All grown up, Alex has done well, but he carries secret scars. Andrea is a reporter – hired to uncover Alex’s secrets or lose her job. There’s a spark between Alex and Andrea, but can he trust her? Will she keep her job? Such a good read!

Good story. Good characters. I love how Barbra Freethy doesn’t use lies and lack of communication to further her stories. I love that Alex and Andrea were no exception. Any lack of information was rather upfront. If that makes sense.

One thing that did bother me a little was the reason her sister, Laurel, needed a new wedding photographer. Blaming it on the photographer being pregnant and worried she’d having morning sickness? Eek. That was rough. The opposite of girl power and all that. The same twist could have happened if the photographer had cancelled herself or whatever reason. But not being fired because she’s pregnant.

This book has been on my to be read list forever! I have been in a reading slumped and this was the book I picked up to try to get out of it. And this book just did that! Check it out now if you have not yet!

This book was amazing and shows that work and pleasure don't always go together. I could feel the passion and love explode from the book between the two main characters: Alex and Andrea. The two most stubborn characters you meet. And sometimes secrets will come out that make the bond even stronger.

Kiss Me Forever is the first book in the Bachelors & Bridesmaids series. Andrea is a writer, and somehow things just always seem to happen when she is covering a story. She is given one last chance: Do a story on Alexander Donovan. Andrea is determined to uncover all of Alex's secrets and write the best story, one her editor will be thrilled with. But as she gets to know Alex, she may find that is harder than she thought. She could lose everything that really matters. This story was really good. I highly recommend it.
