She's not just my mate. She's my property.

When my newly purchased mate bit me as I led her from the auction block, I spanked her bare ass in front of everyone, but I didn't claim her right then and there as would have been my right.

I want her all to myself when I enjoy her virgin body for the first time.

Because I'm not just going to breed her.

I'm going to make her beg to be bred.

Publisher's  Purchased is the third book in the Bound Mates series but can be read as a standalone. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

This is my second Loki Renard book and God, I still don't know exactly how to rate it 🤣 I do think this time around I was better prepared for what to expect, also, the pen name "Loki" just makes so much more sense now. Everything in this book is farcical, it takes the cliche' shifter tropes and, like spinal tap says, turns it up to 11. For me personally, it was hilarious, but not romantic or sexy, so while I was cracking up all book, I wasn't getting much from it that I look for in a romance. The MCs were pretty insufferable, which is understandable since it's basically satire, but the FMC gave self-righteous monologues that would make John Galt proud in their verbosity, if not their actual content. I think that if I liked the characters more, it would have drastically increased the score. I'll definitely look into more books by this author however, because I can see how with the right characters their writing style would be magic. They kinda remind me of Kate Raven books, which is probably why I enjoy it.

WHAT HAPPENED 😖😫😩😤🤯

Wow—let me start by saying this book had a strong beginning and a promising premise. The spice was there, the heroine was fierce, and the male lead had that dominant Alpha energy many readers love. I was hooked… at first.

The setting, a shady orphanage that secretly auctions off girls (yes, only girls—go figure), was dark and intriguing. The male lead is a powerful Alpha searching for his mate—yes, a bit cliché—and then boom, he finds her: beautiful, wild, stubborn (all the good stuff). She’s always known she was a wolf, but the orphanage had been suppressing it.

Their connection? Pure heat. He’s determined to tame her—with sex and a hint of BDSM (honestly, that part was mmm, good stuff). But that alone couldn’t carry the story.

Then things took a weird turn.

Suddenly, she’s killing humans like some kind of daredevil/spider-woman/super vigilante hybrid. And the Alpha, her mate, kind of condones it? She only submits to him if he’s rough during sex? 🤬 That was a hard no for me.

What happened?? The plot just unraveled. I honestly don’t know what the author was thinking with that twist. Such a great setup, but the follow-through completely missed the mark.

Purchased is the third book of author Loki Renard’s Bound Mates series and a steamy decadent read that was throughly enjoyable.
The girls of Honourhall home for lost ladies, a supposed orphanage are excited for the Honourhall ball on this night where they’ve been told they will meet handsome, rich husbands.
MFC Beatrix knows what is really going on, they are all being sold off at auction. Unfortunately no one believes her until up on the stage and being sold off to the highest bidder.
MMC Armand de Lune is alpha of the de Lune pack and is only at the auction in hopes of finding his mate. He despises the whole process but has been advised there will only be one wolf shifter auctioned.
After failing to escape Beatrice is dragged onto the stage and Armand has found what he has been urgently seeking… his mate.
Armand offers up a whole lot of money for his feral little mate and dares anyone in attendance to outbid him on pain of death.
Loved this newest story and the well written narrative as much as I enjoyed the lengths the patient Armand has to go through to tame his mate into submission.
Told all her childhood she was crazy believing she was a wolf and medicated for it Beatrice will soon learn the truth of who and what she really is, and it isn’t just any wolf shifter.
Danger, secrets, revelations, lots of steam, passion, and pack politics take shape in an a very good paranormal read. HEA.

Armand didn’t plan to go to the orphanage nor did he expect that they would be having an auction. When he sees his fated mate collared and dirty, he didn’t hesitate to get her out of there. Beatrix knew she was different. She tried to tell the others that the “ball” that the orphanage was having was an auction. The other girls didn’t believe her till it was too late. Being collared and sent out to be sold only made her rage but there was something about one man that calmed her. When Armand takes Trixie home, he is in for an adventure like none other. She is feral and isn’t about to let anyone try to tame her.

I have to say that this one was a major change. I certainly didn’t expect Trixie to be an assassin. Her wolf is stronger and built to make those that hurt others pay. Armand tries so hard to find out about her passed. How is it she was able to transform before even finding her mate? Every time he tries to get her to talk, she goes blank. It is totally different. Usually, the male is the assassin and feels the euphoria. With this story, Beatrix is the one that feels the thrill. She definitely makes Armand’s life different. When these two are together though, it burns hot. They can’t keep their hands off each other. Both loving the pain and pleasure.

Beatrix is a unique individual. Although forced to deny her own natural instincts, she is a female wolf-shifter. Beatrix has grown up in a girls orphanage, which turns out to be an auction house for girls with no family. Bea tries to escape the auction, but she is captured and forced onto the stage where Armand feels her mate call to him. Determined not to leave with him, she sets up quite an unacceptable drama of disrespect that Armand is forced to control.

Armand cares very deeply for Beatrix. After all, she is his mate. But she is a rebellious, cynical, perceptive, smart, arrogant, primal individual who refuses to tell her alpha mate anything about her past. Stollen as a baby, raised under sever conditions, Beatrix reverts to her primal nature when necessary. After Armand takes her to his elegant chateau, she again takes a life. Somehow, Armand MUST find a way to control her. To rectify this situation, Armand sets out to find her orphanage files. He also hires a therapist to council them both. Although Beatrix hates this therapist, other members of the pack have found him useful.

The therapist is a complicated person, with secrets in his past. He does help to turn this exciting, intriguing story into one I highly enjoyed and definitely recommend.

She is his mate, but will he be able to keep her

Purchased is the third book in the Bound Mates series. The story is a mix of PNR wolf shifter, billionaire, auction, mates, and some stiff punishments. Beatrix grew up in the House of the Lost Lady orphanage and is at the age when a ball is thrown for the girls. But this is no ordinary ball as it is really an auction of the girls. She tries to run but is caught and then put on the stage. Armand is the DeLune pack leader and is older, handsome, and looking for his mate. He attends the ball/auction because there he is told a shifter will be up for bids. When he sees Beatrix on the stage he knows he has finally found his mate and he is not about to let anyone else have her. But getting the winning bid is one thing, it is a totally other thing to get Beatrix to accept him and not try to escape. Things will get complicated as secrets about Beatrix are discovered, some beliefs become false, and a whole lot of animal magnetism swirls throughout the book.
I really liked this story. It is something different, with some twists that you don't see coming which add so much to the enjoyment of the story and the characters.

He paid for her.

Loki did it again! She wrote a lively shifter romance, with a range of characters from soft, deep alphas to an almost feral omega. They have no future, raised isolated at the Home for Lost Ladies (Honoruhall Home). An orphanage where they are kept until their eighteenth birthday. They have no families. They all look forward to the Honourhall Ball when some may meet the happy ever after or receive a ticket to freedom supposedly. Bea is different, always has been, always will be. She is a shifter. She not getting prepared for the ball, because she knows what is going to happen and she is running. Bea gets caught and is brought to the stage with a silver collar and a gag. It’s finally Bea’s turn. She is dragged on stage. Armand, a pack leader scents her immediately and he bides ten million dollars stating she is his. Only his. Armand doesn’t know Bea and Bea’s suspicious nature doesn’t like the idea of being bought. Neither one knows where this is leading but Bea has a “home”. If you like what you’ve read so far, you're going to love this book!

Action is a huge part of this story, some of it good and some bad, nonetheless it is an attention magnet. I was pulled into the story at the very beginning and the action is literally nonstop. There are surprises through the story and some people are not what they claim to be. The story is well written and very entertaining. Armand and Beatrix are two strong personalities who clash but can’t fight the fact they are fated mates. This is definitely a story worth reading that has a slightly different twist on shifters.

Armand stumbles upon an auction he didn’t expect. Spotting his fated mate, Beatrix, collared and disheveled, he acts swiftly to free her. Beatrix, aware of her unique nature, had tried to warn the other girls that the orphanage’s “ball” was actually a human auction, but they dismissed her until it was too late. Collared and put up for sale, her fury burns, yet something about Armand soothes her. When he brings her home, Armand faces a wild challenge—Trixie is fierce, untamed, and determined to resist control. Their story unfolds as a thrilling, intense adventure.

Loved it

There were a few more murders than I’m used to seeing in romance books, but I loved the book. Beatrix is a heroine I will remember for a long time to come. It’s rare, lately, when there is a strong female presence in romance books. Usually, it’s the women who are in desperate need of help and the hero who solves everything. This book didn’t work that way. Beatrix needed a stabilizing influence, but she was always true to form and did her best to care for everyone around her. She did what needed to be done regardless of what anyone else thought of her.

This is a great book.

Civilized Savages
Beatrix has always been a little different, but her life is about to take a complete 180. Armand knows as soon as he sees her, he has to have her. But are these two good for each other, or toxic? That’s really the question, is Beatrix causing Armand to devolve, or freeing him? This story really makes you think about human (“wolf”) nature and the thin lines between right and wrong. I found myself challenged by my feelings for the main characters - they’ve got their “good” and “bad” - and they story line was twisty and entertaining. A solid read.

not another alpha story

A solid 5 ⭐️read. One of those book you reed and night that is soooo good you can’t put it down and in to late to try to sleep when the sun in coming up.

Love the MC. there’s an age gap but not that important. The FC is feisty and dark crazy and strong … just wonderful. The MMC is so full of love and comprehension and power.

One of the best reads I’d had this year. Had laugh a lot and simply enjoyed myself a lot.

This was simply a brilliant book !

Wow, has Loki developed! I don’t normally read shifter stories but this one transcends other paranormal books! It has everything…two young ones discovering each others histories n quirks, learning to care for each other then falling in love, believable settings n backgrounds n a history established. Beatrix n Armand are wonderful characters, n the whole plot is beautifully convoluted.
More please, Loki!

Beatrix has grown up in an orphanage where the girls are auctioned off when they turn 18. Armand de Lune is the alpha of his pack but he hasn't found his fated mate. He reluctantly calls in to the auction but is surprised to realise that Beatrix is his mate. He buys her but her life has been so bad that she doesn't believe him. Armand is going to need to tame her.

A wonderfully creative wolf shifter romance…
Beatrix grew up in an isolated orphanage on a small island, sheltered from the outside world. She’s ultimately sold at auction to Armand, the Alpha of the de Lune pack. A disturbingly violent personality trait leads to drastic actions… I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.

DNF

The premise was interesting, and started out ok. Then when off the rails. The FMC murders indiscriminately and the MMC is more interested on if she was a virgin. Neither are particularly likeable. I skimmed the last half of the book hoping for something in the plot to make sense, but nothing materialized.

A hot but dark romance - true mates, shifters, steamy adults only romance and a twist in the tale. What more could you ask for?.

This was better than I thought it would be. It actually has comedy in it. It reminded me of a movie with Cary Grant and Kathryn Hepburn and her brother's leopard.
