It's time to learn the truth about what happened that day in The Cellar.
Taryn and Thanos are the formidable Ambassadors of House Orion. Taryn was born into power, bred from birth to lead the people of Greece along with his sister, Theresa. Thanos was never a part of his mothers’ plan. The son of a fisherman was not a suitable match for the son of Greece as far as their mothers’ were concerned, but Taryn usually gets his way.
The Cellar is the story of how these two men met and fell in love, and what lengths Taryn went to, to ensure he kept his man. This novella also contains a more detailed accounting of what happened the night Raven and Tanis went for a walk on the beach, and a NSFW version of Mistletoe and Mayhem.
The Cellar is a novella in the Opposites series, the series must be read in order. It is an adult, dystopian majorly M/M series that encompasses all manners of relationships (including M/F and F/F). In this world logic is irrelevant, love is key, and things get broken—just ask Aiyan and Kaden.
Other books in the series and reading order... Opposites - book 1 The Library - book 1.5 Appearances - book 2 The Cellar - book 2.5 Snapped - book 3 coming January 2017
A military brat born and raised at Ft. Benning Georgia; Smith is an avid reader that just happens to write sweet & sexy gay romance. A Texas transplant, she now calls DFW her home. Most days she can be found curled up with a good book, or ticking away on her next novel.
Smith is a single mom of three disturbingly outspoken and decidedly different kids, one of which is Autistic. Besides her writing, she is passionate about Autism advocacy and LGBT rights. Because, seriously people, Love is Love!
The Cellar-2nd novella in the Opposites Series! I recommend to read this series in order to full appreciate the characters and stories!
The beautiful Taryn was born into power and trained to lead his people of Greece with his sister Theresa. They are also the ambassadors of The House of Orion. Thanos was never part of the plan that Taryn's mother had for her son as she always felt that Thanos was not good enough for him. Taryn always gets what he wants and Thanos is exactly what he wants and nothing or no one will get in his way, not even his mother.
The Cellar is the beautiful and hot story of how Taryn and Thanos met and fell madly in love with each other and the degree to which Taryn went to for his love. Taryn and Theresa come up with a plan and if they are successful then Taryn and Thanos will be together forever. I loved that these guys were the strongest characters in the series and I instantly fell for them. The author gives us a great story of how Thanos the fisherman's son became the powerful man that Taryn needed and desired. So beautiful that this novella starts with Taryn and Thanos on the beach and the hot connection between these men before they even speak was OMG hot and the way Taryn chased Thanos was so sexy. I am so thrilled that TM Smith brought back Kaden and Aiyan to the story as it wouldn't be an Opposites book without these guys as I love them so. Taryn will never let Thanos go even though his mother goes to great steps to make sure their union doesn't happen but nothing will stop Taryn from being with his true love. We even get to see Raven and Tanis and their surprise answers some questions we had.
I have said it in every review for the Opposites series and I will say it again that this series is my ultimate favourite series as I can't get enough of these brilliant and amazing characters and their stories. Taryn and Thanos story will keep you completely riveted page after page and your heart pounding for more, trust me you won't be able to put this novella down. What I loved about these guys is that there is an amazing connection from the very start and no denying their passion, desire and love for each other. In my past reviews I have gone on about this genre that the author so brilliantly writes about. In this Dystopian era, it's illegal for opposite sex (M/F) to be together and as a gay man...I love it!!! For one it's about time someone had the sense to write a story like this one and two, it gives it to the straight community.....one for the gay community! So basically same sex couples/pairings is the norm in this fantastic world and the opposites have to hide their sexuality!
I couldn't recommend this novella, The Cellar by TM Smith enough and everyone must read this series as trust me you don't want to miss out on this amazing, hot, sexy and brilliantly written series.!!!!

Oh my goodness, what is a properly brought up prince to do when he falls passionately in love with a simple fisherman? Anything and everything to make it possible to keep him forever. Never mind what the moms and dads have planned for him Prince Thanos is determined to have his man so he does what any man would do, get caught in a compromising situation in front of enough witnesses to force a marriage to happen. For once this oft trotted out scenario works for the lovers involved and they go on to make a great life together full of happiness and go on to birth Tanis and Maeve and get their happily ever after.
With that said , I have to warn you that there must be another book to this series I haven’t seen come out yet as all the open storylines have not been closed in this novella. I can’t wait to see what comes next!!

My Rating: 4 of 4 Stars (Based on the Short&Light Read Category)
This is not as steamy and not as naughty as The Library but it is just as devious and as erotic. This is the back story of Taryn and Thanos, two of the more imposing and stronger characters of the Opposites series. It does not leave much to the imagination but with only a few pages to read through and a whole lot of plot changes, this is the read that will change the course of the whole arc of such an outstanding series, this should not be missed.
This tells us of what exactly Taryn did to guarantee his beloved Thanos, a lowly fisherman's son, become the formidable partner and husband we are now more accustomed to. He is shown here in all of his young inexperience, we catch a glimpse of his insecurity of being not good enough for a Prince and also his determination to stay with his love forever.
For the present, we move on to find out what these men and women do to make their Houses stable after the betrayal. We also get a step up on what may happen in the next installment, how the families deal with the changing course of lives when the big move finally finalizes.
This is a real teaser and only managed to successfully get me more impatient for what's to come next.
If you haven’t read the first two books Opposites and Appearances, I suggest you wait on this until you do unless you don’t mind spoilers. This is another cute compilation of a few behind the scenes. Taryn and Thanos are two hot fathers. We got a glimpse and hear hints of the story of how Taryn’s mother gave in and let them marry…here we get no holds barred details…and man are they smoking! What would an opposite book be without at least a peak of the hotties Aiyan and Kaden? We get another peek at them and their sexy hijinks with Aiyan showing Kaden what mistletoe is. OH MY! These men tear down the house with their sexiness…literally. The end gets a little more melancholy with choosing a new guard and I nearly cried remembering why. This section is a bit sad. There is so many diverse characters, lots going on in such a short book but it never overwhelmed me. I will say it’s very fast paced and before ya know it...it’s over. Kaden and Aiyan made me want to go furniture shopping. If you like Opposites and Appearances, (or don’t mind spoilers) New Adult Dystopian, A fast paced read in one sitting book and very hot man-sex this is for you.
I’ve been a fan of this series since I first read Opposites, and I was really excited for this book because of one simple fact. I just HAD to know what happened in the cellar! It’s hinted at in the other books, but to actually find out what had happened, was awesome. I do enjoy Ms. Smith’s writing style in the books, but the one thing that does end up confusing me is how similar the names are in the story. But thankfully I was able to follow along enough that I wasn’t completely lost. I also liked how there were some hints about what was going to happen in the future, and with what was revealed at the end of Appearances. I do wish there would have been some more information given about everything, but I do have high hopes for the next book to come! I do think that this was a great addition to the series, and it keeps you wanting for more of the world that Ms. Smith has created!

I love these novellas that fall in between the main stories in the Opposites series. They take an event mentioned in the main books and run with it and the common theme seems to be the parents – oh and sex! Last time round we had Cirian and Rian so it seems fitting this time to have Taryn and Thanos.
This was a couple that wasn’t supposed to be matched. Taryn’s mother thought that the lowly fisherman Thanos was nowhere near good enough for her son, she even went as far as to try and remove him from temptation but Taryn was just as sneaky as his mother and had his own plans for his future.
In The Cellar we get to see how the pair met, how they sneaked around to spend time with each and how they fell in love. We also see the often alluded to plan for them to be found in a more than compromising position in the cellar thus forcing Taryn’s mother to finally accept them.
An intimate glimpse into the romantic lives of the men of Opposites. Taryn and Thanos are often the pillars that hold this unique family of characters together. Their love for each other is an example the other couples can, and often do, emulate. Theirs is a story of romance, attraction, love, and having the strength to fight for what you know is right.
THE CELLAR is a well written tale that weaves the past into the present. It also includes, to a lesser extent, the other couples of the series and allows readers to truly see how important this special family is to each other.
Just like The Library, we get extended scenes from Appearances! If you love the series, you will love this short. Can't go wrong with bonus information and hot loving! The ARC for an upcoming blog tour and review was greatly appreciated....
We finally get the skinny on what happened in the Cellar. It has always been eluded to, but now the story is told in full. A truer love can't exist then theirs. It is a lovely way to find out one of the backstories within the Opposites Series.
This is a great listen that has expanded scenes from book 2 in the series. I really enjoyed getting more background on Taryn and Thanos and everything that they went through and had to do in order to end up together. More of Tanis and Raven is always a good thing especially when it's so HOT! I really hope book 2 comes out in audio soon because I would really love to listen to thst one n\and get a better understanding. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.
“It felt almost like your hands brushed against my heart that day.” This is such a fun peek at some of my favourite characters from the Opposites series, including giving us a better look at Taryn and Thanos and the legendary stunt that forced Taryn’s mother to allow them to marry. These characters have come such a long way since they first locked eyes, and the chemistry between them hasn’t faded, despite the weight of responsibility they both carry. Once again, these characters give us a concrete reminder that we cannot control where or when a heart will find its match, regardless of the social norms and expectations being imposed. This novella also offers a taste of some of the fallout from the cliffhanger from Appearances, so if you’re anti-spoiler, read these books in order.
If you’ve been a fan of the series, this gives us more background into the night that Taryn and Thanos broke all the rules and become lovers.
It’s told in bits and bursts- mixing present day with past recollections.
Greg Boudreaux’s narration is perfect! He’s so very easy to listen to and does a wonderful job with the myriad accents in the story.
I think anyone who hadn’t read the previous stories might be a bit lost, but for fans of the series this a must! It’s great learning about how these two strong characters bucked the system and we get peeks at the other characters as well.
I read this as a stand alone, as I didn't realize that this was series. It took a little while to gain some grounding on who was who! Interesting story of two men that fall in love. I received the audio version, which I wasn't ecstatic about because of the scenes and the voice of an elderly man. That aside the book was great and now that I have read the first book in the series, it makes more sense :)
I enjoyed this story, but I have to tell everyone that you have to read the first two books in this series to fully understand the Characters, and story line.
