I've had the pleasure of meeting Rik a few times, and his knowledge and gentle spirit really come through in this book, his latest offering, which I found extremely interesting. Rik also treats his readers, and the individuality of every practitioner, with a great deal of respect. He believes in their ability to live a magickal life themselves: they only need to be willing to see the magick within their own being and without in the whole universe. He deals with his subject matter with a lot of creativity. For instance, he writes, "Some traditionalists would cringe at the thought of using colored pencils, stencils or rub-ons in their Book of Shadows, but I use them frequently." He stresses the importance of finding a Book of Shadows "that represents you" (it doesn't have to be exactly like what one sees in films or on television). He shares his experiences and preferences, all of which lend his book an authenticity I especially enjoyed. Walking a Magick Path is a book I'll consult on numerous occasions.
