When snow falls, sparks fly…

❄️ ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ ❄️

Ivy’s first term at art college hasn’t gone to plan. Lacking in friends and inspiration, she’s looking forward to a quiet, cosy, antisocial winter holiday working at the Wildest Dreams Bookshop.

Except, her sleepy small town is suddenly full of chirpy tourists, including Trip – her most annoyingly sunshine-y (and annoyingly handsome) new customer of all, who’s desperate for Ivy to show him the sights of Fox Bay.

Ivy doesn’t think there’s much of interest in her hometown, but can seeing it through Trip’s eyes give her a fresh perspective? And when they both get roped in to helping save the local school show, might Trip be the unlikely inspiration Ivy needs to get her creative sparks flying again?

I received a free copy of, Snowed in at the Wildest Dreams Bookshop, by Gracie Page, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Ivy is working at the Wildest Dreams Bookshop while going to college. Ivy is not the most likeable of characters at all. I wanted to like her, but she would not her out of her own head.

This was a sweet little English seaside village cozy romance.

Ivy is the quintessential small-town girl who can't wait to leave, only to discover that things aren't exactly easy in the wider world. Ivy is an aspiring artist who finds herself in a creative block after having a tough first semester at college.

She returns home for the winter holiday to find that her sleepy seaside village has been overtaken by tourists drawn to the real-life setting of a recent popular novel that is set to be adapted into an upcoming film. She gets a job at the local bookshop that has been turned into an AirBnB housing an American tourist and her outgoing younger brother, Trip. Trip takes a liking to Ivy and the community while his sister enlists Ivy to show them little-known local spots around the town.

Ivy was a bit of an annoying character at first. She's very cynical and bends over backwards to find fault with her hometown and the people that live there. She has moments of being overly judgemental, even towards her love interest Trip.

Trip is absolutely the golden retreiver to Ivy's black cat. There really didn't seem to be that much chemistry between the two, but with the Hallmark-style story, you still couldn't help but root for them.

The seaside village setting was like another character to the story and the atmosphere was delightful.

Ultimately, this was a sweet little romance and a quick, well-done audiobook listen, but it's fairly unremarkable and I can already see myself forgetting this one. I may attempt the other two books in the series though, because the setting really was delightful.

This is the second book in the Wildest Dreams Bookshop series! It can be read as a stand alone, but I definitely recommend reading the first book the series!

This was the cutest grumpy-sunshine YA romance Ivy and Trip were so sweet. Both easy characters to love. I think a lot of young readers will be able to relate to Ivy’s feelings of being an outcast and never really understood. The story also touches on grief with the passing of Trip’s beloved grandmother. I thought the town play was a fun way to bring these two together! Loved all of the quirky side characters too.

If you are looking for a cute YA romance with a fun setting and sweet characters, then I recommend giving this one a listen! The narration is wonderful!

My final read of 2025. A beautiful one. A small town im familiar with from the previous book (The Wildest Dreams Bookshop). It's an easy short (250 pages) read. A community coming together for a play with some new tourists helping Brooke and Trip. Ivy is back home for the winter break and has forgotten the beauty of her small town, but optimistic and golden boy Trip who everyone loves makes her see everything differently and there may just be some romance between them. A happy ending for all the characters and the town as a whole. 4 stars.

Thank you to the author, narrator, HarperAudio Children, and NetGalley for providing me with this ALC. This YA book was light and atmospheric for the approaching holidays. I didn’t particularly like the FMC, but it didn’t get in the way of reading it. I wish it was a bit more Christmassy and that it had more depth. I don’t think this one will be very memorable. The narrator did a nice job though.

Audiobook 🎧

This was short and cute but it gave nothing. I know its a YA so i am for sure not the target audience but it just wasnt good? Ivy was SO FREAKING NEGATIVE. I get that she is young and probably has alot of self-doubt but she was just always in her own head about literally everything. It was exhausting. I wanted to shake the girl and tell her to be nice for once!

I should have DNF'd this but it was so short i pushed through.

This was a cute story with a slightly misleading title - it doesn’t snow much in Cornwall! But the setting was charming and it made me feel Christmassy as intended.

It was an easy read, that I finished with perfect timing on Christmas Morning, and the cool weather in Sydney almost matched the cold weather in the story!

I definitely cried a little at Ivy’s loneliness and college experience but was confident she would find her inspiration somehow.

I enjoyed this easy Christmas read

This was an easy heartfelt read with likeable characters who are all varied and individualistic. I enjoyed their depth too. I just don’t think this book was super memorable though and wanted more Christmas vibes than what I got. I also felt like there were some forced tropes in this book too.

Better than the first book but why is the MF SO ANNOYING????
I mean she’s arrogant and childish and judgementale and mean to people that only exist and are nice to her.
She’s better on the last chapter tho.

exactly what I needed to try and get out of a reading slump. title is a bit misleading considering no one is snowed in at a bookshop throughout the entirety of the book and it's consistently mentioned that there is never snow in the town. otherwise it was pretty cute. VERY slow burn- the characters don't miss until the very end of the second to last page

Ivy ’Pearson’s first term at Art College hasn’t gone as plan. She has classmates but no real friends and worst of all lacking inspiration. She is looking forward to a quiet winter holiday working at the Wildest Dreams Bookshop back home in sleepy –Fox Bay. However, Fox Bay had changed and is full of happy tourists,
When she meets Trip a new customer to the bookshop who is on winter break from the US College he is attending she finds him handsome but annoyingly cheerful.

Since Trip is new to town he would like for Ivy for show him around. She gives in shows him the sights and finds there really is a lot to see in her little hometown. However once she sees Fox Bay through Trip’s eyes she finds she is enjoying it.
Next thing Ivy finds she has been volunteered to help with the elementary school’s Christmas Show by doing set design-painting props etc. – Soon n more help is needed as the production director has been rushed to the hospital with appendices. The production is a fund raiser for the Library and many tickets have already been sold. Trip volunteers and is excited stating he has directing experience. Directing an elementary school’s Christmas Show put on by 10 years old will be fun. Ivy tries to warn him that it won’t be easy as she has been worked with these 10 year olds and knows working with them is a lot like herding cats on catnip~

As Ivy and Trip’s relationship bloom his sister Brook is not as excited and fears Trip will get hurt. Of course drama occurs. The story has a bit of a twist.

It was an enjoyable Christmas story and I looking forward to the next story in this series.

Want to thank NetGalley and HarperAudio Children’s/Avon a

I went into this expecting a light rom-com with Hallmark vibes and festive Christmas cheer—and while it had some of that, it ended up surprising me in the best way.

What really stood out was Ivy’s journey. Watching her reconnect with her hometown and rediscover her love for art was so heartwarming.
There’s a line in the book that stuck with me: “Sometimes a break from a place isn’t a bad thing. You come back, you see it differently.” That’s exactly what happens to Ivy, and it made her growth feels genuine.

Fox Bay itself? Total comfort-town energy. The cozy bakery, the local bar, the bookshop—it all felt so warm and welcoming.
I wouldn’t mind revisiting this place again if there’s a third book in the series. And if you’re wondering, yes, you can absolutely read this as a standalone. That’s what I did!

One tiny thing I noticed: the text exchanges between Ivy and Trip were written in paragraph format, which made it a bit tricky to tell they were messages.
I kind of wish they were styled like phone bubbles—it would’ve made things clearer. But since I read an ARC, maybe that’s something that got tweaked in the final version.

As much as I adored the town and the vivid descriptions that made me want to pack my bags and go there, I did wish the romance between Ivy and Trip had a bit more depth. A few more heartfelt conversations would’ve made their connection feel stronger.

Still, this was such a cozy, quick read. I could’ve easily finished it in a day if I’d picked it up over the weekend.
It’s the kind of book you want to curl up with on a chilly day, wrapped in a blanket, sipping your favorite drink by the fire!

I received a review copy through Netgalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Huge thank you to the author and publisher!

Could Gracie's books feel any more cosy and comforting?

I'd be game to read 10 more books set in Fox Bay, the absolute sweetest setting!

This time we follow Ivy, whose first term at art college hasn't exactly gone to plan. She's reluctantly back in her home town for the winter holidays and working at the Wildest Dreams Bookshop to earn a bit of extra cash before she heads back for term two. Her home town is looking a little different and busier now thanks to a certain author's book launch blowing up on social media. One such tourist drawn to Fox Bay is Trip, an American who is town with his older sister Brooke and staying above the bookshop. Cue the forced proximity!

Ivy is a whole lot of grumpy and Trip is a whole lot of sunshine. Ivy is initially annoyed by Trip's positive demeanour and what she perceives as his complete ease with all aspects of life. Gradually they get to know each other and spend time together trying to save the local holiday play and Ivy realises just how wrong her preconceived notions about Trip were.

I love it when an ice queen melts a bit for a warm and genial king. Ivy also opens up to the people of her hometown more and in doing so rediscovers her passion for art and a zest for life.

Really enjoyed the little tours Ivy took Brooke and Trip on throughout Fox Bay and the slight mystery aspect of why the siblings were actually in town in the first place, a fun twist! Perhaps we'll get to see that reveal explored more in the next book...

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC. This type of book really puts a smile on my dial.

Curl up this winter with Snowed in at the Wildest Dreams Bookshop, a cosy grumpy sunshine small town romcom for fans of Lynn Painter, Jenny Han and Gilmore Girls. I didn’t realise this was book two in the wildest dream bookshop series (standard Rebecca) but it can definitely be read as a stand alone. The perfect Christmas read!

Ivy’s first term at art college has left her feeling stuck, uninspired and more than ready for a quiet winter back home. She plans to spend the holidays working at the Wildest Dreams Bookshop, keeping to herself and enjoying the calm of her sleepy seaside town.

That plan unravels when Fox Bay fills with cheerful tourists, including Trip, an endlessly sunny and frustratingly charming newcomer who is determined to experience everything the town has to offer. Ivy insists there is nothing special about the place she grew up in, but seeing it through Trip’s eyes begins to shift her perspective.

When the pair are roped into helping save the local school show, Ivy may just find her creative spark again, and discover that inspiration can come from the most unexpected places.

Did I absolutely love this book and totally blanked out my entire train trip because I was so absorbed into the story? Yes. That was that the fastest 5 hour train trip ever.

I barely even noticed the passing of stations - this book was just so lovely. I really enjoyed getting to know Ivy as she returns back to her small town world after her venture into the expanse of art college, opportunities and adventure. But she’s loathed to admit that perhaps it isn’t quite as she imagined and returning home for the holidays seems to be her only option..

Enter Trip stage right, a bubbly, warm and friendly American staying in her quaint little town. They’re yin and yang and aw did I love his character! A waggy tailed Labrador he definitely was and it was so nice to see him merge with the community of the small town. It’s not often I read Grumpy x Sunshine when she is the grump and it was a refreshing read!

Super heartwarming and an all round joy to read.

Thank you to the author and publisher for this book on NetGalley in return for my honest thoughts and review.

4.5 stars coz I’m so sick of Taylor Swift references everywhere in romance.

This was so charming and I breezed right through this. Ivy is a loner, arty cynical type who longed to escape for art school, only to find herself lonely and struggling. I really felt for her. She has a carapace to protect herself, but it stops her from seeing that people want to know her. I really enjoyed the slow-burn romance not just with Trip, but with herself as she slowly learns to open herself up. I really appreciated that she also apologised when she was wrong and learnt from her lessons. I adored the outgoing Trip, slowly pushing Ivy out of her comfort zone in an open and big-hearted way without also disrespecting her boundaries.

A book for anyone who ever felt like they didn't fit in. Loved it. I'm going to go and buy the author's first book.

Thanks to HarperCollins UK, Children's | Harper Fire and NetGalley for the ARC.

This YA Christmas story is cozy and sweet, and very PG. Very Hallmark Christmas.
The setting may say bookshop, but it really the small town, think Gilmore Girls' Stars Hollow.

Like many freshmen in college, Ivy's first term at art college hasn’t gone to plan, and is looking forward to returning home to work at the Wildest Dreams Bookshop. However, the owner her decided to rent out the space above the book shop for the season and would like Ivy to assist with that as well. She ends up acting as tour guide to the chipper brother and sister staying there, forcing her to reexamine her life and what she really wants.

Venice Van Someren's narration is done well.

Thank you to NetGally and HarperAudio Childrens for the ARC of this book. Get your copy on November 25, 2025.

This was really cute and a good YA. My daughter is only a tween so it’s nice to know what I can safely recommend her and what not too.

I read the first book in the series and had to continue and was delighted yet again. Ivy is a flawed but lovely character home for the holiday break and working in the Wildest Dreams bookshop.

Trip, an American tourist, is staying above the shop with his sister. He’s the sunshine to Ivy’s grumpy. Her grumpiness is more of a self esteem thing which she eventually figures out.

His sunshine is based on how he was raised by his grandma (I too was raised by my grandma). Ivy doesn’t treat him the greatest but he perseveres. We can’t really hate her for it either because when she tries to prove below the sunny exterior, he gives nothing away.

It ends with a few delightful surprises and as with the last book, I would have really liked an epilogue.

This series is just so lovely, after reading the first in the series I immediately pre ordered Snowed in at the wildest dreams bookshop. This time it's Ivy's turn and after a difficult term at art college she is home for the christmas holidays unsure of what it is she is doing or if she is good enough to be at art school at all. Once home she starts helping out at the bookshop she meets Tripp who is staying there with his sister for the holidays. He is annoyingly pleasant and of course handsome.

This was such a lovely story, it definitely was a lovely addition to the series

This was such a cozy read. The main character was easy to relate to and understand. The growth throughout the story was also super understandable. If you are looking for a simple cozy read near the holidays I definitely recommend this one. The side characters were unique and had really good personalities that made it easy to understand why the main character was acting the way she did. Ivy was honestly a great point of view for a friend of mine growing up it made me think of her and wonder if this was how she felt for awhile.

This was a cute, feel-good YA coming of age romance that takes place over the winter break and has a struggling college artist falling for the American boy who is visiting and volunteers to help with her small Cornish town's Christmas play. While this was good on audio and had some sweet moments, overall it won't be a super memorable book for me this year. I did enjoy it and would read more by this author in the future though. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review. Recommended for fans of authors like Rebekah Crane.

This was a cosy hug of a book, it gave me all of the feel good vibes and more. I loved being back in Fox Bay and seeing some of my favourite characters again.

I just love the way the characters lives are interwoven, how everyone in the town just cares for and supports each other. I adore the fact the story is based around a book shop.

The plot for this was such a treat and felt so lovingly nostalgic. This was just the perfect, feel good cosy romance.

Snowed in at the Wildest Dreams Bookshop by Gracie Page
This is an entertaining small-town Rom-Com.
Ivy’s first term at art school did no go as planned. She is lonely and un-inspired.
With few friends she plans a quiet winter break working at the local bookshop.
When Ivy arrives, she finds her sleepy little town is bustling with tourists.
Her most annoying customer presents a chipper ray of sunshine. Trip wants to see everything and Ivy doesn’t recognize what a gem her town is until she sees it through his eyes.
They both get cornered to save the local school show and Trip proves to be an unlikely source of inspiration for Ivy. As the creative juices flow, Ivy tries to save her final project for art school and her future spins in an unexpected direction.
I had the pleasure of reviewing the audiobook and the narration was wonderful. The characters were given individual voices and the narration was well done. It made the story entertaining and light. I really enjoyed it. 4/5⭐
I would like to thank NetGalley for the opportunity to review an ARC of the audiobook for this title.

Snowed In at The Wildest Dreams Bookshop is a charming small‑town romance that feels warm and inviting. I loved how the close‑knit community shaped the story and made the town feel alive. Meeting Tripp helps Ivy rediscover the beauty of her hometown, and their sweet, gentle romance adds just the right touch of magic. It’s a cozy, heart‑warming read perfect for anyone who loves small towns and soft winter love stories.

Snowed in at the Wildest Dreams Bookshop was an easy, enjoyable listen. I found myself rooting for Trip and Ivy the whole time—their dynamic was sweet and had a nice cozy vibe. I ended up giving this one 3 stars, mostly because the storyline dragged in places and felt pretty predictable overall. Still, it had its charm for a light, wintery read.

An enjoyable story about Ivy, young budding artist who is struggling with everything and everyone until she meets Trip and his sister Brooke who are staying at the bookshop where she is temporarily working during Uni holidays. Lovely to read at this time of year though was a little disappointed that the title of the book didn’t exactly reflect the story. Other than that worth a read

Snowed In at the Wildest Dreams Bookshop is a heartwarming return to a place I’d love to visit, with more opportunity to get to know the characters and the community, and to see growth in both. These are people you genuinely root for—the kind who show up for one another in quiet, meaningful ways when life threatens to derail plans and dreams.

The bookshop remains the heart of the story, a warm refuge amid the cold, while the town reflects a real sense of community—neighbors who don’t always get it right but still choose to pull together. The author allows relationships to deepen naturally, and the growth in the main character feels earned, shaped by small choices, conversations, and the influence of the people around her.

With its quirky charm and deeper themes of belonging, care, and seeing the best in others, this is a gentle, comforting read about connection and finding your place among people willing to walk alongside you.

Thank you to #netgalley for the opportunity to listen to this book. All opinions are my own.
