Byzantine Based and Accuratea
The WEB New Testament is based (99%+) on the Byzantine Text, representing the majority of extant Greek manuscripts. Thus while the WEB's NT base-text contains some non-original additions, they tend to be benign and contribute to the clarity of the text. The translation-method is consistent with the best technique - as literal (and elegant) as possible; as free as necessary. Readers of the WEB New Testament may be assured that, given careful Spirit-led interpretation, they receive the same message that the original documents of the New Testament were intended to transmit.
