Rate this book
She came looking for the truth. What she found was a man worth risking everything for.

Tabitha Whitlock never expected to be sent off as a mail-order bride. But when her newspaper article investigation of a notorious horse thief puts her life in danger, she’s sent to Lincoln, Nebraska, where the man she’s to marry might hold the answers she’s seeking.

Elijah Brandt is a quiet, enigmatic rancher with a past he refuses to share. Yet, in the shadows of his land, something dark stirs—a connection to the very criminal Tabitha is determined to expose.

As horses continue to vanish and her town whispers secrets, Tabitha is drawn deeper into a tangled web of lies and deception, where her heart and safety are both at risk.

Is Elijah a man she can trust, or is he hiding more than his feelings for her?

In a town where nothing is what it seems, Tabitha must navigate betrayal, desire, and danger—uncovering not only the truth about Jack Dudoso, but also about the man she’s about to marry… and the love they’re both afraid to admit.

What a feel good story! The only reason Tabitha is allowed to write articles for the local paper is because her dad owns it. Rare as that is, she has a reporters instinct. She is on the trail of the head of a horse ring run by the elusive Jack Dorso. Her discoveries put not only herself in danger, but her dad and the paper. Dropping hints in her articles push came to shove. She has no other option but to answer the mail order bride application her dad filled out in an attempt to get her to safety. But does it? Her soon to be husband, Elija, just like Tabitha, has a deep secret. Unbeknownst to them both, they both have a secret that is life threatening. I really enjoyed this book. It actually focuses more on suspense and action. Romance is the product, but the journey there was page turning

Secrets and Mystery

Wonderful story and story line. Suspense with a little bit of mystery. Tabitha uncovers a corrupt plan and is forced to leave the only town she knows to marry a man as mysterious as the secrets she uncovered. Great story.
