A short short story/ It is Halloween and the trick or treaters have all left. The adults decide to pull out the Ouija board (against the better wishes of some of the adults) and an evil spirit makes itself known. Jeff Resnick once again has to deal with a spirit.

Usually short stories are just fun filler between novels, but I was surprised that this one actually had a really important character revelation at the end.

I love Resnick and co. so any extra content is a plus for me!

The story itself was fine, but to pass it off as a "book", was a stretch.

This is a short novella in the series of the Jeff Resnick mysteries. It takes place three weeks after Volume six (Dark Waters) ends.

Baby Betsy Ruth Alpert is now three weeks old and she is dressed up as 'Hello Kitty' for her first (highly photographed) Halloween! After the Trick o' Treaters have left for the year...the family gathers for their own small party with a yummy sounding pizza.

The group consists of Jeff, his brother, Richard, Sister in law, Brenda (a Good Witch,) and Jeff's girlfriend, Maggie. Being Halloween and all...Maggie brought along some games they could play.

To Jeff and Richard's dismay...out comes the infamous board game "Ouija." Both ladies are excited as they feel it is just a game...Jeff and Richard know it is far more and a portal to the other side that is best left unopened. The men are over-ruled and the game is begun.

The last ghost that Jeff wants to re-visit comes through with a reason. Jeff rushes to protect his niece, but why? Well, I'm not going to tell you. It is well worth the dollar to find out for yourself. These novellas/ short stories leave me always wanting more, however, they are a great bridge to keep you updated with the main story line while you are waiting (however impatiently) for the next volume (#7) to be published. I enjoyed the tale.

Halloween...a time of ghosts and ghouls and spirits walking the night. But this Halloween, Brenda and Maggie think it would be fun for the four of them to try a ouija board after the trick or treaters all go home. Although Richard and Jeff think it is a bad idea, the four of them start asking questions but soon the answers they get will no longer be fun. This is a short novella in the Jeff Resnick series, taking place shortly after the events of Dark Water and including Jeff's adorable new niece. Fans of this series will appreciate this short haunted tale that again highlights Jeff's new eerie talent.

It's Halloween and Jeff handles a situation only he is capable of handling......a visit from Richard's deceased grandmother. She wants everyone to move out of her house, especially Richard's wife who is black. In life this was a woman who hated everyone who didn't bow down to her and in death she hasn't changed a bit.

What happens after the trick and treat hours are finished?
What do adults do to get in the Halloween spirit? Speaking
of spirits, Jeff Resnick’s girlfriend brought a Ouija board to
amuse their little group. What spirit lurks to haunt them?
A quick, short novella that will entertain you!!! This is part
of the Jeff Resnick Mysteries Series.
Thanks to the author for this eBook. My opinion is my own.

I loved this short Jeff Resnick story, and just in time for the spooky season! It may be short, but it filled in some things in Jeff's history...and Richard's that were very interesting...you'll have to read it to see!
