Moms of the Bible is the second book I have read written by Rhonda Stoppe. I loved diving into the different moms of the bible. Looking at moms like Rahab, Jochebed, Mary, Esther, Herodias, Lot’s Wife, Rebekah, Eve, Naomi, Eunice, and Hannah. I loved that Rhonda splits the book into three sections of moms, moms that were fearless, flawed, and faithful. Diving in and taking a deeper look at each of these women as a mom, using both scripture and stories to highlight the mothers. This book was the perfect read. It gave me encouragement, advice, scripture, and a better insight into moms of the bible. I loved that we didn’t just look at the typical mom figures of the bible, but we also looked at the flawed moms and those that normally have a ‘bad wrap.’  Each mom had a unique story to pour into my life. Each chapter ended with a QR code to watch a video on a teaching from Rhonda Stoppe, which added some depth to each chapter.

I was delighted for the opportunity to read Moms of the Bible, even if all my kids are grown and I am a grandmother now. (It is actually the second book I have read by Rhonda Stoppe.) I was able to listen to the audiobook, which is narrated by the author.

Rhonda Stoppe discusses various moms of the Bible, who were fearless, flawed, faithful. Such moms as: Jochabed, Hannah, Rebekkah, Rahab, and Herodias. I found encouragement from the examples of these women from the Bible, as well as examples from the author's own life.

If you're a mom, no matter your stage in the journey, I am sure you will find encouragement through this book. Add it to the top of your TBR list.

I have really appreciated Rhonda Stoppe’s wisdom for parenting and marriage through the years, so I was thrilled to get Moms of the Bible to review. I appreciated the blend of Biblical wisdom with stories from Rhonda’s life woven in. I loved looking at the different women in the Bible and the remind of what is truly important with raising our kids. This is a wonderful book for women in all walks and stages of life.

I received this book from JustRead. This is my honest review.

Motherhood can and is a Beautiful and AMAZING part of life. Motherhood can also be challenging through the many phases of Motherhood and Parenting. I was blessed to read a new book recently on Biblical Motherhood. Moms of the Bible: Life-Changing Lessons from the Fearless, Flawed, and Faithful by Rhonda Stoppe is the most recent book that I read for encouragement and insight.

Motherhood is a "job" that never ends, no matter the age of your children. Motherhood therefore goes through many phases and stages and over the years Motherhood can see growth, happiness, disappointments, setbacks and many challenges. I can honestly say that this book really opened my eyes to so much about Motherhood and the "Moms of the Bible". Moms tend to look to the Circle of Moms in our lives for guidance and help in the different stages of parenting, very rarely do we look to the Bible and how Moms of the Bible overcame and achieved growth in Motherhood.

Moms of the Bible by Rhonda Stoppe takes the reader through the many stories of how God can give guidance and encouragement through the Biblical stories of Eve, Mary, Esther, Rebekah, Rahab, Naomi, Hannah and other Moms of the Bible. The book is divided into three parts: Fearless Moms, Flawed Moms, and Faithful Moms. I really LOVE how the book shows that even Mom's of the Bible had to rely on God to help them become the Mom God intended them to be. The Personal Stories by Rhonda are very encouraging and enlightening. I really LOVE that each chapter focuses on a Mom of the Bible and their story of Motherhood, including the flaws, fears and how their faith helped their journey. The QR Code at the end of each chapter takes the reader to a video of the author giving more advice and encouragement. A Biblically sound book with Scripture references and more.

Our sons are 24, 23, and 21 and they all still live at home. The "Young Adult" time of Motherhood definitely comes with a different set of Challenges, yet God will guide me through those and enable me to help our Sons. Motherhood is definitely a journey that never ends and with God's help and guidance Mother's can go through the Flaws, Fears and Triumphs of Motherhood! I HIGHLY recommend this book to all Mom's, in all stages of Motherhood! AMAZING BOOK!

The most rewarding and difficult job is being a mom. Everything we do has consequences one way or another with our children. I want my children to see Jesus in me and my prayer has always been to let me be a light in my words and actions to my children’s lives. Some days my actions and words aren’t showing Jesus’ light. While you may hear people joke about parenting doesn’t come with a manual. The good news is that there is a manual and the only one we need is in the Bible.

In this book every chapter focuses on a woman from the Bible. Not every woman is perfect and has flaws and makes mistakes. There is not sugar coating it in the Bible nor does the author just show moms being perfect godly woman. So you can sigh in relief they weren’t all perfect!

The book is broken up in three parts: Fearless Moms, Flawed Moms, and Faithful moms. It touches on Rehab, Mary, Herodias, Lot’s wife, Eve, and other mothers. I’ve dived into to varying studies of the Bible but I can honestly say I have never done one that looks at several of the mothers throughout the Bible.

This was a very easy and quick read. I liked that it links scriptures and you can also scan the QR code or use the address link to hear Rhonda teach on the chapter. It was a nice addition to the book. The chapter ends with “Life Lessons” which has some practical insight and other scriptures to look at.

The book points out very practical advice. Like letting us let out kids see how important our own relationship is with Jesus. That alone makes a huge impact on our kid’s lives.

This could be used by grandmothers, mom’s to be, or even foster moms too. This would also make a good book for a mom’s Bible study.

I enjoyed this book and thought it was inspiring read that I needed at this time.

I recently read Moms of the Bible: Life-Changing Lessons from the Fearless, Flawed, and Faithful by Rhonda Stoppe, and I found it to be a thoughtful and encouraging book about motherhood and faith. What I liked most about this book is how it reminds readers that even the women in the Bible were not perfect. They had struggles, fears, mistakes, and doubts, just like many mothers today.

The author shares the stories of different mothers from the Bible and reflects on the lessons we can learn from their lives. Some of these women showed strong faith and courage, while others made choices that led to difficult consequences. I appreciated how the book looks honestly at both the good and the bad, showing that growth and change are always possible. It makes the message feel real and relatable instead of idealized.

Rhonda Stoppe writes in a very warm and friendly way. While reading, I often felt as if someone was gently guiding me through these stories and helping me think about how they apply to everyday life. The reflections after each story are simple but meaningful, encouraging readers to pause and consider how faith, patience, and trust in God can shape the way we live and raise children.

Another thing I liked is that the book is not only for traditional mothers. It also speaks to stepmothers, adoptive mothers, foster mothers, and even grandmothers raising their grandchildren. This makes the book feel inclusive and supportive for many different family situations.

Overall, I found Moms of the Bible to be an uplifting and reflective read. It reminds readers that motherhood is a journey filled with learning, grace, and growth. The book offers encouragement for anyone who wants to become a more thoughtful, faithful, and loving influence in the lives of children.

Have you ever thought you could do better? Wished you’d made a different choice or responded differently? I think we all have. When we compare ourselves to other people, we are going to see our shortcomings and where they excel. But we’re only seeing a small bit of the picture. We’re only seeing the reality they want us to see. What we don’t see is when they fail or make mistakes, just like us.

In Moms of the Bible, we are introduced to several moms of the Bible. We get to know them. And we glean lessons from them. From their mistakes and shortcomings, and from their failures as well. We learn from the good and the bad.

This is an author that I have enjoyed before. She shares her wisdom freely in other areas, from mothering sons to marriage and raising daughters. So I knew this was going to be a wonderful, well-thought-out, and well-written book.

Throughout this account of women of the Bible, the author also shares personal stories that highlight what is being taught. I enjoyed the variety of moms. We’ve got ones that I would immediately hear their name and think good mom, and then those that I immediately thought bad mom, and the ones that I was surprised by.

As always, this book by Rhonda Stoppe is one I can highly recommend. And I recommend you check out her other books as well.

Have you ever whispered to yourself, I’ll be a better mom tomorrow…but tomorrow never comes? Maybe you’re comparing yourself to other moms and feel you aren’t measuring up. But don’t lose hope. Just as moms in Scripture learned from life’s ups and downs, with God’s help, you can become the mom you long to be.

I think a lot of times moms are so busy raising and caring for their families that they live in a bubble. We all wonder if what we do matters. There are so many lessons to be learned from the bible, along with why being a mother matters. We are raising disciples! Mothers make the world go round.
I love how each chapter revolves around a mother in the Bible. The book shows lessons about the fearless, lawed and faithful women in the Bible. This book is meant to be read along with the Bible. The Bible should always be your first resource to God's word. The book does a great job of directing you to scripture. There are great life lessons questions and verses to direct you at the end of each chapter. The best part of the whole book is a short appendix at the end that presents the Gospel and how you can have a personal relationship with Jesus. Nothing is more important. I highly recommend all Moms and Moms to be read this book, and of course the Bible. You will be happy you did.

In Moms of the Bible: Life-Changing Lessons from the Fearless, Flawed, and Faithful, Rhonda Stoppe invites readers to examine the lives of women of the Bible and how they approached motherhood and all of its challenges, joys, pains, and faith. Because in these women's lives, we see how their faith in God and their love for Him enabled them to make wise and sometimes outrageous choices (yes! See Rahab, Mary, Jochebed). We also see some failures of motherhood, in lives like Herodias, Rebekah, and Lot's wife.

How do we become the mothers that we want to be, who can influence our children for good? In the lives of these Bible women we see that faith, trust, love for, and following God can cause us to live lives of joy. And this is what I love and embrace from "Moms of the Bible." Rhonda encouraged me as I read, yes; but also exhorted me to continue to follow after God and to let Christ in me, the hope of glory, be the true influence of my life.

Wonderful, wonderful book. 5 star--I highly recommend it!

What a beautifully written, inspirational and encouraging book! I've loved reading books by Rhonda Stoppe, and I also thoroughly enjoyed reading this one.

Written especially for moms, each chapter takes a look at a mom from the Bible, brings the story to life in a new way. I loved the way new truths were brought out, and it was made relevant for us in today's world.

From Moses' mother, Jochebed, to Jesus' mom, to Herodias, and others, each of these moms' stories showcases life as a mom, and what it might have been like from their perspective. It gives encouragement, wisdom, hope, life lessons, and more.

Each chapter also includes questions to provide food for thought, and could be used in a small group or Bible study.

Thought-provoking, challenging, inspirational, and so much more. This book felt like a breath of fresh air, and I highly recommend it to other moms!

Rhonda Stoppe writes biblically grounded, literate retellings and explorations of various mothers in the Bible in 'Moms of the Bible.' Her work teaches fearless faith, finding hope, wisdom, and discernment from Jesus, which I find invaluably encouraging.

There are several features to this book that make it a five-star recommendation.

- An appendix that details how to have a relationship with Jesus. Perfect for unbelievers who pick up the book.

- Life lessons with questions and prompts at the end of each chapter.

- Thorough person breakdowns and observations about each mom of the Bible who is discussed.

- Frameworks throughout the book.

- An author video series with heartfelt lessons from Rhonda Stoppe for each chapter.

Finally, I love how this resource presents motherhood as a ministry that extends over generations. I not only recommend it to moms, but also to women who are believing for motherhood in their future. It is a true exploration of the moms of the Bible who were fearless, flawed, and faithful. A very realistic and timely resource.

Moms of the Bible is the first book I have read by Rhonda Stoppe. This book is a great encouragement to moms and provides insight into how to raise children to serve the Lord.

Something that really stuck with me was the author's emphasis throughout the book on the importance of the first four years of a child's life and how, as a mom, you can help shape your child's view of God at such a young age. This encouraged me as a mom of young children, and it also made me think about the spiritual responsibility I have for my kids.

I enjoyed that the author included multiple different types of moms. From faithful moms to those who denied God, there is something you can learn from each one. Some of the moms are well known, while others you may not have heard of or thought about before. This makes the book even more unique and thought provoking.

Overall, I think this is a wonderful book for any mom to read. It provides encouragement, advice, personal stories, and ways to apply what you have learned. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I am interested in reading teachings of other faith traditions. It builds my base knowledge, perhaps my empathy, and gives me food for thought concerning my own faith. As a Catholic I have that stereotypical weak fingertip knowledge of the Old Testament so I entered this book eager to bone up on that while perhaps gaining insights into motherhood, women, God… you name it. But this book - from an evangelical tradition I believe - is not for me. Any author who writes, "… the human heart of man is evil." (P. 79) is simply too diametrically opposed to my own faith view. Remember how God created all things and when he got to man it went from "good" to "very good"? Religion isn’t about driving out Satan and achieving necessary purification for me. It is about being open to divine guidance to keep this "very good" hunk of creation just that. I tried to hang in there a bit longer but, after page 91, I had enough. This never flowed or inspired. My first DNF on Goodreads, but there you have it.

I have two teenage boys in my household right now…. It;s summer.. They are eating me out of house and home. This book Moms of the Bible: Life-Changing Lessons from the Fearless, Flawed, and Faithful by Rhonda Stoppe could not have come at a better time. There is so much that I loved about this book.

The first is how the author splits the book into three sections of moms, moms that were fearless, flawed, and faithful. Right now, I am feeling like a flawed mom - but after reading this book I am confident that I am not alone. Some of the moms that the book touches on are: Rehab, Mary, Herodias, Lot’s wife, Eve and others. I felt that the book was well written. It was a nice uplifting read.

Being a mom is hard work. Theres no time off, theres no sick pay, benefits, but it’s the most rewarding job that one can do. I know that I make mistakes daily. But I felt that I was right at home with some of our Bible Mothers.

Thank you to the author, publisher and JustRead Book tours - for allowing me to read a copy of this book - all thoughts are my own.

Moms of the Bible is a warm and encouraging look at motherhood that blends the author’s personal stories with examples of mothers in Scripture—both the good and the flawed.

The book is divided into three parts: Fearless Moms, Flawed Moms, and Faithful Moms. The book doesn’t come off as “preachy” at all. The author shares each story in a clear, honest way that feels natural and easy, like chatting with a friend over coffee.

From the first chapter on the story of Rahab (I love her story!) to the closing chapter covering unnamed women in God’s Word, I was absorbed, encouraged, and strengthened.

A comforting and faith-filled read for any mother.

First Line: I’ll be a better mom tomorrow, I whispered to myself before drifting off to sleep.

I read "Moms of the Bible," expecting some new insights into motherhood that might help my granddaughters and I was amazed at the Biblical mothers described, the author's insights, and how it can inspire mothers.

I had never thought too much about the Biblical moms of the bible other than the hardship of the times they lived in, not realizing the span of different types. Some were flawed, some fearless trusting in God, and others were faithful. Maybe all three.

The author's writing is easy to understand and comes across as close friend, making the reader comfortable. The stories and insights within the book will inspire you to become the mom you were meant to be. Motherhood can also be a ministry-God sees and values moms!

I listened to the audio of Moms of the Bible, and found it easy to listen to and to comprehend. The reading was done at a nice pace and the reader had good voice inflection; very warm.

Moms of the Bible gave me much to think about. There are so many more moms than I realized mentioned in the Word. Both good and bad moms, there was something to be learned from each.

The author encouraged moms to see themselves as someone in a very important role. She also gives practical life lessons that any mom can learn from. I highly recommend it!

This is an insightful new book to teach you new things about moms in the Bible, and how their lives can inspire us to be better moms.
It is full of interesting biblical and contemporary stories that are engaging and enlightening.
For example, I enjoyed learning about Esther's influence as a stepmother, which I've never considered before.
I appreciate the varied lessons from moms divided into three categories: fearless, flawed, and faithful. We learn from the positive examples as well as the negative examples in this book.
