Who is Holden West? I'm not who you think I am. Looks can be deceiving. I'm good-looking, but I'm not a ladies man. I'm beyond wealthy, but no one knows it. I'm confident, but my heart has been broken.
Things begin to get more complicated for Lucy in this installment. Jefferson Lund has paid her to show up at a mysterious building on Park Avenue. She has a pretty good idea of what is going to be waiting for her there. Rich men like him aren't in the habit of giving money to pretty waitresses unless they expect something very specific in return. She knows she shouldn't go. She knows that no good will come of it. But she needs the money for her family.
So she shows up.
Is it the right decision? Or is Lucy about to make the biggest mistake of her life?
Hi, my name is Abby. I hope you enjoy my exciting new romance and erotica stories.
I love stories about strong, female protagonists that give you a good character arc and background to the action as well as providing the steamy details of what they get up to. I am particularly attracted to themes like wife-swapping, voyeurism, exhibitionism, and public and group encounters.
I am thirty-years-old and live in the beautiful forests of rural Ontario, Canada, with my two dogs.
I hope you enjoy my stories. You are always welcome to contact me at: abby@type-writer.net
Book 1 I reviewed separately, I found it a bit slow to start but the characters & emerging ploy had me interested enough to continue.
Books 2,3,4 I started to get really involved in the story. Poor girl is responsible for her whole family & will do anything to help. She's desperate & makes a rash (in hindsight) decision. We find out more about Holden & why he's hiding away in his friends garage.
Even though I understand why Lucy would accept the offer from the hideous man, she is so deluded. He is seriously twisted and is even more so once we discover his fantasy (and reality) and whom his lawyer is to him. I started to get really into the story, wanted to see just how far the freaky man & his cohort would go. Lucy was a little annoying in her naivety but I could ignore that for the story.
Book 5 Started well, apart from Lucy annoyingly thinking of the man as a way to escape from her reality. She says something about him makes her feel uneasy - wtf, of course he's weird, he likes to get freaky-deaky with his sister!
The scary scene in the office is great and then stupidity took over. Why did the 2 men even think of letting Shirley in the building alone with armed gunmen around & sickos holding her sister hostage? After they are saved, how come everyone is so calm? - both women have been assaulted, raped, unprotected sex yet they are fine, don't get medical attention, just behave as wipe brow phew that's over. Discuss whether should go to police and the girls decide would rather blackmail to get fathers company back, father says lost it fair and square so that would be wrong - as if the man who took his company was an honourable upstanding man, wtf?? Then, after they do decide on police, Lucy & Holden declare undying love, Shirley & Holden's friend declare love (they've met twice) then each couple go home and have unprotected sex not affected by the previous few hours. I'm sorry, i suspend reality when I read, that is why I read, to escape but when the plot gets so ludicrous I get annoyed, frustrated & disappointed.
Started fair, middle very good, end disastrous. 2 stars overall due to crappy book 5

It is hard not to love Holden West even more after the first book, but I do. He is a true man. After the first book he is still trying to figure out his feelings for Lucy.
With this book we have more of a look into the problems of Lucy and her family. She is going to become a call girl. With her situation it seems like she has no choice but to put herself out there. Nobody in her family is doing that except her father, and he is failing miserably at that since he has lost the family home in the last book and is about to lose his business.
Holden, once he sees Lucy is bothered by a situation, tries to console her and help. It is a shame that she thought she wasn't worth being with a great man and not redeemable just because of one incident where she made a mistake. She has a man willing to soothe her wounds throughout this trial she is having.
One question I had was about how Jefferson Lund is going to treat Lucy since she signed a contract saying she has no hard limits.
At the end of this book the readers are getting into Lucy changing her mindset of who she is, how she feels about this situation, and can she accept the decisions she has made. The scene with Menzies summed all of that up. "He'd manned to reduce her to a slut in just a few minutes. She felt like she'd lost all of her dignity..." That line brought everything together for me. Can't wait to read the next book to see where this adventure takes me.
The entire family is going through so much. The father is about to lose everything. Lucy is about to whore herself out to help the family. And the there's Holden who if he knew what was happening and to whom he could fix it all. Well written and very entertaining to read. Looking forward to the next installment.
Well this has taken some turns that I didn't expect! Lucy had gotten herself into something that she shouldn't have but now it's too late. Holden needs to make a move NOW otherwise he's going to be sorry he didn't. Next installment is going to be crazy I can just feel it!
we learn more about holden and lucy. we see what lucy is willing to do to help her family. she just doesn't realize that he is the bad man. what will happen next.
