“…Frosty The Snowman was a jolly happy soul…” unless his once mortal form was infected with an unknown pathogen that’s turned him into a biting machine. Then Frosty doesn't get a corncob pipe and a button nose…he gets two in the head.

Seeking a safe haven from the impending danger of the infected, Governor Steve Landis commandeers a rural peninsula at the top of his state to enact a grandiose plan outlined in the survival guide passed down to him by his great uncle.

People of the Bay Peninsula latch onto the ideals of their trusted official, desperate for sanctuary. But not Terry Riley. This hardened conspiracy theorist had packed up and fled to the north woods to join his son, who, like him does not trust the eager governor. In agreement on the uncertainty of the days to come, they journey to the family cabin to wait out the end of the world.

Try to avoid hypothermia as you plow through this bone-chilling blizzard of flesh tearing chaos, because snow isn't the only thing accumulating on Christmas Eve in this neck of the woods.

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*

I enjoy zombie books and apocalypse books even though it seems that there are tons of them out there. I tend to like the different zombie & apocalypse books. You know the atypical ones that have a different scenario and the zombies are different. Accumulation definitely falls into that category. It isn't the normal zombie story. The end of the world scenario happens differently and most people don't even know what is happening. The zombies are different in that they are kind of a hybrid type of zombie. The way that the "virus" is spread is different as well. You definitely don't know what to expect in this book.

I enjoyed the story and the differences that the author had in it. It was definitely not boring and I was pretty much glued to the story. There are a lot of characters in this book and sometimes it's a little difficult to remember who each person is but it doesn't detract from the story at all. It was a fairly quick read and was entertaining. I give Accumulation 4 books.

A grotesque infection sweeps the world, but one man Governor Steve Landis has a plan for survival, only the plan is to ensure his own well-being above all else. With this mysterious infection spreading like wildfire can there be survivors?

A really entertaining and gripping zombie apocalypse read with some strong and eccentric characters. I was totally absorbed into this book and loved every chapter. The book works on a realistic premise of, "what if..?"

I became very attached to the characters and found Pop funny and endearing, as well as the eccentric Jarvis brothers. This horror thriller really did tick all of the right boxes for me, parts of it reminiscent of Stephen King's The Stand and Max Brooks' World War Z, but at a more brisk pace.

An alluring Zombie apocalypse thriller that is a must read.

I received a review copy of this book for my stop on the blog tour at Donnie Darko Girl.

A thoroughly addictive and entertaining read, Accumulation had me enthralled from the first page. I. Love. This. Book. The writing, the plot, the cast of characters, the pacing...all of its elements came together perfectly and gave me a new book in the zombie genre to recommend to friends and family.

When Accumulation begins, news reports are coming in about an infection spreading causing people to become violent and attack each other. People have even begun posting videos to YouTube of the attacks. Once infected, the victim goes through a transformation similar to that of a werewolf with the distinct sound of bones snapping. Then the victim lunges for whomever is nearby and eats them like a zombie.

The governor, Steve Landis, is a madman and doesn't care about anyone surviving the apocalypse except himself. He was so calm and matter-of-fact about everything that it freaked me out much more than if he had been a raving lunatic. I think the bizarrely calm megalomaniacs are much scarier than the loud in-your-face ones. He has delusions of grandeur in thinking himself to be the commander-in-chief after having the bridge to the peninsula destroyed, cutting off access so no infected can cross into the area and to use up all the energy and resources for himself.

The Riley family (grandparents, parents, kids, and uncle - they're a large family!) hides out together in a cabin the grandparents, Pop and Nan, bought a long time ago in case of a situation such as this. Totally great to have a conspiracy theorist in the family in times such as these! The dynamics of this family were really interesting and added tension to the story.

One of the aspects of Accumulation I thought was so cool was how the large cast of characters start out separate and end up coming together in a realistic and believable way. Plus I really liked the unique twist on zombies - I wouldn't quite call the people who turn after infection zombies; it's a little more complicated than that with their strange transformation that always includes the body contorting in a way that should not be humanly possible. It's so creepy!

Overall, Accumulation is a story about the world going to hell in a completely realistic way and in which the government can't be trusted to help its own people, which also seemed way too realistic. I kept thinking while reading this novel that I hope nothing like this ever happens and how much worse it would be to go through it with young kids. I was freaked out and yet couldn't stop reading - definitely a novel you shouldn't miss!

Something is going down out in the world and a in this story we follow a few people as they try to survive.

The Governor. A man elected into office, but was always prepaired for something to happen by his great uncle. He follows his Uncles old guidebook in order to survive, but the Governor isn't "all there" and while some of his ideas have saved lives will his delusions of grandur untimatley cost him?

Terry Riley a grandfather and conspirsy theorist he was prepaired for the world to go to hell and is determined to survive with his son and the rest of the family and a stragler here and there.

Deck he worke for the Governor, but once he realized his plans he ran and along with Dory a college student they are trying to figure things out. When the get into the woods Deck is in for a surprise.

These are just the main characters you follow throughout the story, their are others too which gives you a better idea of what's going on all around.

The idea of the story itself is interesting, but I had trouble the first 20% of the book trying to figure out the characters, with all the back and forth to the different people. After that hump I began to recognise the names easier and made the story easier to read and understand. I got sucked in at the end and now I wonder if there will be more books about the people to see what happened next!

I am an independent reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock. I'm giving this book 4 Fangs.
Accumulation brings us a different kind of zombie apocalypse. The world is ending as we know it however, only a few are in on it. This is the story of a selected few trying to survive.

First, the Governor - an elected official, who is a bit off mentally, luckily his Uncle left him a survival guide book. Will he survive or not?

Then we have Deck - he starts out as the driver for the Governor. When he realizes what the Governor has planned he takes a college student named Dory with him and runs. What surprises await when they reach the woods?

To me the hero of this tale is Terry he is s conspiracy theorist that has spent his lifetime preparing for the end and intends on surviving with his family and a few folks he picks up along the way.

The story is very well written, I probably would have given it more stars but the beginning was a bit confusing as we got to know the characters, and this is not the type of book I normally read. That being said if you enjoy adventure, mystery, zombies or sociopolitical stories you should enjoy this one.

This may have been one of the worst books I've ever read. In theory, the plot was interesting, but the execution was more than lacking. The characters were one dimensional and boring. I really never developed any sort of feelings for any of them. The dialog was ridiculously juvenile and the writing clunky and full of holes. It read like a remedial high school writing project gone wrong, or the book version of a movie on the SyFy channel. But hey, it was free so I guess I'm not really out much by reading it.
