“Awake the senses” is the first in the “Erotic Encounters” adult fiction trilogy. Each book is a series of stories written to ease the reader progressively from titillating tales through to sexually explicit adventures, exploring alternative lifestyle scenarios along the way.

The moralistic restrictions that have been thrown up by society and religion will be tested and our attitudes to sexual freedom may also be probed. Perhaps the “Erotic Encounters” series may even tempt us to push our own boundaries and seduce us into sampling the deli of delights life has to offer.

“Awake the Senses” could be classified as erotic romance. These are sensual stories that are not written to shock or provoke, but a series of stepping stones, leading the reader into gradually more risqué narrative. “Caress of a Whisper” and “Touch of Silk”, books two and three respectively are progressively explicit encompassing graphic, indeed edgy subject matter.

Awake the Senses – the stories.
Melting of Stone
Businessman Philip Stone is a reclusive, highly successful entrepreneur who is used to getting his own way. He ruthlessly acquires assets and companies with little regard for the people who built them. Stone is now set to achieve his ultimate ambition, that is until he meets the beautiful Elizabeth Parker-Elise.

Affairs of the heart
High flier Andrew Jefferson takes a trip to his company’s offices in Mumbai. There he hooks up with his MD, Dr. Nazimah Johar and together they tour India to meet with their business clients. During the journey they soon become more that just colleagues, a close friendship soon develops. Taking a break from business, they visit the erotic temples at Khajuraho. A heady atmosphere and the ancient carvings which graphically depict all manner of depravities captivate them and their relationship takes a steamy turn.

Educating Peter
Achieving sexual experience proves to be elusive for the young Peter Morse. He then meets Alice. She is in the year above him at school and Alice decides to take Peter under her wing. Alice though is just the start of his tutorage.

Those that know me will know erotica is not a genre I read, I have read but a handful of erotic novels in my lifetime. Sometimes it's good to go outside of the box and see if your likes and dislikes have changed. That's what I decided to do by reading Awake the Senses by Peter Timbrell.

The book is three individual stories in one book, it's always hard to rate books like this as inevitably I have different feelings and different rating for each one. So I will try to break it down a bit for you all.

It is important to realise that this book is part of a trilogy, each story builds up in intensity with it's eroticism from the very "vanilla" to the extremely diverse, so if you go the whole distance with this author you will be reading a lot of stories and going on the ladder up and up into more and more sexy, steamy stories. Ooh la la!

The first story is quite simplistic with very "vanilla" and light-on sex scenes, most of the story is focused on the characters and the plot, not an in your face erotic story, this is stepping stone one in the book's direction.

The second story got hotter! It was like the author was finding his groove a bit with the plot and the telling of the tale also. Characters slightly more relatable and realistic than the first story in my opinion. The erotic scenes in the second story were hotter and steamier than the first story by a long shot. Welcome to stepping stone number two.

I was now excited about the last story...it did not let me down.

The last story I really liked a lot. I thought it was very well done from start to finish and the main difference is that the sexual tension and erotic moments start to happen early in the story and then are scattered through the rest of it building in intensity. Being about young lustful desires, I felt Peter did an excellent job of making this story very realistic. The characters were great and the erotic sex scenes was lustful, sexy and steamy. This one gets 4-5 stars from me.

If the stories are going to be getting more erotic, more diverse, steamier, kinkier, sexier than the last one in this, the first of the trilogy set then you are in for a treat erotica fans. I am keen to read the second book in this series and will report in on just how hot we really get between the pages, I mean sheets, I mean pages.

Thanks to the author, Peter Timbrell for giving me a copy of his book in exchange for an honest review, many thanks.

3 erotic tales for the price of 1 is what you get with 'Awake the senses'.
Well written with great attention to detail, perhaps at times a bit too much detail with the first of the stories reading more as a full blown novel.
I found I preferred the latter two stories with the second having plenty going on with a tantalising storyline and the third written in first person, narrating the coming of age of a young school boy to manhood.

Ok this was surprise. Maybe my expectations were toooo high. The sex scenes totally confused me, at times they were so well written, but at times I have no idea which part of the anatomy the author was talking about.
I'm not sure what an "unsheathed weapon" was. Within a sex scene the cock was given multiply names.
The first story was vanilla, the last was good, but somewhere in the middle I lost interest but persevered.
The stories are well written, but if we want erotica, then it needs to be down and dirty.
