What I enjoyed...

This story is interesting with the revenge theme? What I enjoyed was the descriptive phrasing and quick style... What drove me crazy was the author's insistence to use the word "floor" for every single scene...it's fine when the scene is in a building but it was the same for the street and barn etc. I did see the word "dirt" once towards the end but 90% of the time the characters were falling to the floor after fights in the street. Dirt..straw...grass...every surface that was under the character's feet was a floor. Actually drove me a little nuts.

Good, Quick Read

Samuel is a soldier and Little River is a Native American. This combination alone is gonna create some drama, but add seven evil men into the mix and things go from bad to worse. Will this couple survive in this life or the next?
Gave this 4 out of 5 stars simply because it's a straight up tale with no major twists or turns. Pick this up for a good and quick read.

Samuels story

I didn't quite know what to expect when I started reading this one. But the farther into it I got, the better I liked it. If you are a fan of the supernatural you will enjoy The Burning.

DNF. Maybe I am a snob but this is written in a very juvenile manner that I just could not get into. And when you're outside, it's called the ground. Not the floor. Irritating.

Too Western themed for me. I liked that the author weaves some supernatural stuff in, but the book had bad prose, sentences didn't run, it would have really benefited from a good editor.

Good

This was very good. A little gross in some places but really good. It's what I would have liked to do in his place. Can't wait to read more.
