I was excited to discover this book on Kindle because I’m currently going through a very stressful period in my life and was hoping it would offer some helpful support.

The tone of the book is warm and validating, which I appreciated. It reassures that burnout is not simply a matter of not trying hard enough, and that perspective can feel comforting.

However, I found that much of the content repeated ideas that are already covered in many other books on burnout and wellbeing, so there wasn’t a lot that felt new or particularly insightful to me. I also struggled with the writing style, which felt overly enthusiastic and somewhat juvenile at times, making it harder for me to fully engage with the material.

Very good and helpful. As someone who has experienced burnout recently, this book helped me not only understand WHY I felt as I did, but also helped me identify tools and strategies to prevent this happening again.

I really liked the overall message of this book. It offers plenty of valuable insights about burnout, setting boundaries, and the importance of taking care of yourself before trying to take care of everything else.

That said, I felt the book could have been more concise. At times, the same ideas were repeated in different ways, and I found myself wishing it had been designed more like a workbook, with more reflection exercises and less text. Honestly, revisiting my highlighted passages and the chapter summaries would probably capture most of the key takeaways in much less time.

Even so, I think it’s a worthwhile read. It reinforced something I’ve gradually come to realize myself: self-care isn’t a luxury or a reward—it’s the foundation. No one else can take responsibility for our well-being if we don’t.
