Hilary Storm once again absolutely blew me away! Just when I thought I couldn't love Luke anymore she proves me wrong. This is definitely one of the best books I have read. Of course there are a lot of those OMG, WTF , and steamy moments that keep you begging for more. She has away with making you connect to each character. I so didn't want to like Kimber. I was team Lily and didn't want Luke with anyone else. Hilary worked her magic and within two chapters I absolutely loved Kimber and connected with her emotionally. Both Luke and Kimber have a past that is hard to get through but can they Fight The Odds and make it work! I definitely can't wait to see what Hilary has in store for us next.

Wow! Didn't see that coming. Can't wait for the next installment to see what happens. I would like to see Luke get his happily ever after. We all need one. I enjoyed this book and Luke is so alpha and so soft at the same time. I am also glad that Kimber is strong enough to go through her situation. I am sorry this is vague I just don't want to spoil things for others.

Loved it! Loved it!
I was already totally in love with Luke. But heartbroken Luke seriously .... I couldn't stand it. Then Kimber poor thing raised in the horrible life of illegal cage boxing by a father who honestly didn't give a crap about her. Throw in an abusive boyfriend.
Can they save each other!!!
I honestly believe Hilary enjoys taking us right to the edge of hearbreak!

Rebel Walking book 5 is the continuation of Luke's Story, you must read all the other books first.

I am rating this a 3.5 pushing to a 4 because there were some things that did not sit right with me. I loved the angst and the struggle in this story. What I did not like is (if you have not read the book and do not want spoilers do not read the spoiler!

I like Luke and I liked the meat of this story but some details took me out of the story and became distracting. I will definitely be reading on, but I just hope it doesn't get weird.

Hilary is constantly taking us on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I felt so bad for Luke, I hated how things ended with Lilley, heartbreaking! And then we meet Kimber. If anyone ever needed to be rescued she did. I love their story and the process of healing. And once again what a cliff hanger. Diving right into Never Say Goodbye!

After the ending of Luke's last book, No Strings Attached, I had to know what would become of him and the rest of the crew. I absolutely devoured this book and was not disappointed in the story that unfolded at all. I finished it in one sitting and found myself trying to flip for more pages that didn't exist.

This book picks up with Luke coming to the rescue of a damsel in distress, Kimber. This sets off a series of events which will change both of them. I really enjoyed seeing this softer side to Luke as he helped take care of and protect Kimber. She was just what he needed to wake him up to the rut that he had been in. And vice versa for Kimber. Luke came riding into her life at the right moment. He opened her eyes to the fact that she was more than the product her father had made her out to be. The scene when Luke finally plays again had me near tears- it was such a turning point for him and the book. Of course with Kimber's dad being who he is, things get a bit out of control. Just in time, Luke is saved by a blast from his past.

This book held all the elements that make me love Hilary Storm's writing. There is drama, angst, mystique, steam, humor and love all perfectly blended to give a story that you can connect with (even if you can't relate to the characters circumstances). There also glimpses at the other characters from this series that I already love. Oh and that little epilogue....I need to know what is going to happen next!

Finally the wait is over and we can see where Luke is and what he's been up to! Man, I know Luke was broken after No Strings Attached, but I didn't realize what shell of a man was left. We catch up with him in California and with a quick turn of events Kimber enters his life.

You can tell Luke has changed, and I love this and hate this about him. I loved his man whore ways, and now he's just being, he's not even really living. Kimber helps brings some of the old Luke back, but the loss of Lilly is still killing him inside, he hasn't dealt with what has happened.

Kimber, this girl, I feel horrible for her. With a father like that, and the way she's been treated, I'm surprised she is as strong as she is. The loss she grieves is unbearable, but having Luke there to help makes it easier, and allows both of them to heal from their own personal losses.

I loved the chemistry between these two characters and can't wait to see what happens next, especially with the glimpse into the next book... when does this one come out?! OMG!

Luke still has a long way to go, but I believe having Kimber in his life will allow him to move forward and hopefully Rebel Walking will be back together again. If I haven't said it yet, I am definitely addicted to this series and can't wait to see what Hilary Storm has in store for us next!

INCREDIBLE!!! You won't want to put it down!!

Oh my....where to begin? A DEFINITE 5 STAR read!!! If you haven't read The Rebel Walking series, well there is just NO excuse. Meet the guys and their gals in In a Heartbeat, Heaven Sent, Banded Together, No Strings Attached, and Hold Me Closer. Your best bet is to start at the beginning. Hilary Storm has such a powerful and unique writing style. You will truly fall head over heals for her characters. Each story draws you so deep, it's as though you are in it, experiencing every emotion the characters feel! I seriously urge you to add this whole series to your to be read list!!
Jake has secluded himself to try to hide his pain. He keeps to himself until one night, he can't ignore the actions of a man beating on a woman. Events unravel and Jake's only concern is to protect this stranger. Not having any type of human contact in months, will this woman help him heal emotionally?
Kimber is in a terrible situation. Staying in town one extra day was a big mistake. Embarrassment floods her knowing a stranger saw her being assulted. It gets worse when the guy beats her assailant. No one has ever come to her rescue. Will this mystery man help her get her life back or is he just like all of the others?

This is one fight he can't lose...

For book five we are off too California with Luke in his tiny apartment and his day by day existence. I say existence because one cannot call what he is doing living. It's as if he died too. Until he decides to go watch a fight one night, and his life is forever changed. And now a bit about the story...

It has been six months, but not much has changed for Luke. He works, eats, works out, and sleeps. His apartment is the size of a closet, the shower is even smaller than the one on the tour bus. After seeing a flyer about a fight at the gym, he decides to go out for the night. He doesn't have a great time, but at least it is something different. Everything changes on his walk home. He sees a man beating a woman and the only thing to do is step in. He has no idea what that beating will lead too...

Favorite passages:
- "Sometimes it hits you when you least expect it."
- "Sometimes you have to deal with the sh*t before you can deal with sh*t."
- "I want you to stand with them during the fight. They will make sure you are safe. I trust them with my life."
- The big problem will be me stopping before I kill him.
- "Luke, what if someone sees us?" "Better make it good then, they'll expect a show."

The Book:***
The Feels: ***
The Appeal: ****

No Strings Attached gutted me, so I’m a little at a loss on Fighting the Odds. I loved Luke with Lilly, and I was devastated when their story was cut short. Truth be told, I felt somewhat vindicated when Luke was so heartbroken over Lilly’s death that he isolated himself and disconnected from life. I felt like his penance somehow proved his love for Lilly was real. Enter Kimber. Kimber was in a shitty situation and just as she was going to escape, she finds herself at the hands of an abusive boyfriend. Gallant Luke to the rescue, he makes it his mission to save Kimber, and in the process he begins the process of letting Lilly go.

Kudos:
1. Luke is HOTT!! I want to jump on the back of his bike!
2. Kimber is a badass. Only a badass can train a hottie!

Gripes:
1. this book was way too short. I’m glad I found this series after Luke’s story was complete because waiting for the 164 pages in this story would’ve just pissed me off. Make sure you have #6 on deck because this story is just a teaser.
2. I felt Kimber was a rebound chic. The fact that he claims his love for Kimber had me back at thinking Luke’s feelings for Lilly weren’t legit because how could he have fallen for Kimber within a week?!?

Holy wow!

so I have been impatiently waiting for this book for some time, and Hilary never lets me down. normally I would have read this as soon as it loaded on my kindle, but I had to wait. I didn't want to read through it so fast and be upset that it would be over. now that I have finished I am sad and I do want more. if you have read any of the rebel walking series you know how Luke is and if you've read No Strings Attached you know what happened with Lilly. NSA tore me up, I cried and couldn't read anything else for weeks, the story gutted me. so when Fighting the Odds was finally finished I just knew this story was gonna break me. not only do I become attached to the characters but I want them to be happy and Luke I need him to have a hea and this story has given me hope. I am so going to on the edge for awhile until Hilary gets the next book out but as I said she never ever disappoints. she is one of my very favorite authors and this series is really one of the best that I have had the honor of reading. if you haven't already started this book you need to get on it, it is absolutely amazing!

When I started reading this series I found all the characters extremely intriguing but still to this point cannot pick a favourite. I tell you what though, it's hard not to peg Luke Jacobs right near the top. I figured Luke would be elaborated on eventually - but I never quite imagined I'd grow to enjoy his character quite this much! I love his depth. I love that he's rough but gentle, he's a dreamy contradiction in a lot of ways and after reading No Strings Attached I couldn't get my hands on this book quick enough. It's so good - I don't even know how else to describe it. It leads on seamlessly from No Strings Attached with the same realness and raw emotion. Again it's not predictable and I found myself reading it cover to cover because by this point I was fully hooked into this series and dying to know what was going to happen next.

I'm very much looking forward to the next release too, which hopefully isn't too far away because the sneak peak we're left with at the end of this book - OMG!! Way to leave a girl hanging!!! 5 Stars again from me, massive props to you Hilary Storm I am now a huge fan!! :D

I was privileged enough to get to read this early and one of the first to buy and now review this book. I loved it. Hilary knows how to bring the emotions to the surface in her readers and make them bond with her characters. You cannot read a Hilary Storm book and not become attached to the people and the story in the pages.

Luke faced inexplicable tragedy with the loss of his best friend that caused him to turn away from anything and everything that reminded him of her, love, loss or pain. He shut down and shut out. Starting a new life, he never expected anyone to come in and make him feel what he never wanted to again. Enter Kimber- the two of them change each other and heal each other's wounds like no one else could even understand how to.

I am looking forward to the next book in the series, which you will get a preview of a the end of FTO. Happy reading, you will devour this in one sitting, I guarantee it. Putting it down is simply not an option. Five stars, of course. ~ Kellie

A short book obviously part of a series that I've never read (or have any idea what the series is about). I found it just by reading reviews on Amazon and I certainly enjoyed this book, even if I didn't know anything from the rest of the series.

A big, rough stranger mourning the loss of some kind of former love comes upon a big MMA type beating up on a woman. His macho, heart of gold personality comes out and he makes mince meat out of the guy and tries to help the woman. She whispers to our stranger that she is pregnant and now obviously in distress and he whisks her to the ER but too late to save the baby.

This was a beautiful little story of two really broken people coming together, helping each other to cope with their losses and then literally riding off into the sunset together. There is mention of another book after this one but this book from my perspective was certainly a standalone.

Oh wow!! I read this book in a matter of like two maybe three hours. I ordered it off Amazon in paperback, because I have the others. It got here and I could NOT take my eyes off of it until I read it COVER TO COVER!! I love Luke. He is secretly my favorite, and having him in front of my again was nothing short of amazing. His story is still heartbreaking in the beginning but he is learning with the help of an unlikely friend to heal just a bit. As much as I would love to gush about the ending, all I'm going to say is I grew to love Kimber and I am pulling for them to be home with the other Rebels and be together and happy, but will there love be enough to FIGHT THE ODDS here? I am waiting on pins and needles here to see what Hilary has in store for us next with this series, but one thing is for sure, no matter what Hilary writes I will be right behind her to support and read whatever she has.

Ok... Fighting the Odds continues after No Strings Attached and is based on Luke and his acceptance of Lillys death. Six months after the accident and living a very solitary existence Luke comes across a woman being beaten by a man. Luke steps in and in return beats the crap out of him which has consequences attached. Luke meets Kimber her father runs illegal fights and the guy he beat up was her boyfriend his best fighter which she was intending on leaving this night. After other issues unfold it's apparent to Luke that Kimber is in real trouble and is desperately trying to leave the situation but her now ex has taken all her money and has no support from her father so Luke agrees to one fight only which could be a fight to the death.
I gave this book 4 stars I liked this one better than no strings attached and again there is the ending which has left me saying WTF... Now I have to wait for Never say goodbye
Luke and Lilly/Luke and Kimber???

Luke is HOT. This is an amazing series. All of the books in this series leave you with an amazing cliffhanger. You have to come back for more. Luke saves Kimber one night from her abusive boyfriend. Kimber has been raised in the fighting world and has to sacrifice her happiness for her father. He has made her his pawn to lure the best fighters in. Luke feels the attraction to Kimber and he never thought he would find the feelings he is feeling since Lilly. Both of them never thought they would find love. Their sexual attraction is amazing. The cliffhanger at the end of the book is unreal. I can’t wait for the next book.

I wish I could give it more then 5 stars! Hilary you have done it again. I absolutely LOVE Luke and fell in love with Kimbar she is just what he needed. Now I understand why you said what you said at the end of the last book about Luke. To see what he went though at the end of the last book and continued to struggle with in this book until Kimbar enabled him to begin to feel again and realize that it was "OK" to feel again. There is so much more to learn with these two and the entire group being back together again. The way you left the ending with many more questions that need to be answered....cliffhangers and not nice!!! I cannot wait for the next installment!

There were parts of this story that I liked, but overall it was just not good. It was rushed, and at bit too shallow compared to its potential. The author could've really dug deeper and grudged through the complicated issues the characters were dealing with, but things were skimmed and overlooked. Their whole story was supposedly possible over a week long and it just seemed unrealistic, and not that healthy. The epilogue teases that the story isn't actually over, but after the poor performance of this book, I have no will to continue with the story.

I love this series by Hilary Storm!! I thought this was going to be the end of the series and was happily surprised to find out we are getting another book. I was heartbroken when Luke lost Lily, I cried ugly tears. I wanted Luke to find peace, reunited with the band and get his happily ever ending. Enter Kimber into his life, he wants to protect her to help her and he falls for her. Kimber helps Luke feel again, have something to live again.
So looking forward to the next book especially after the ending!! Need the next book NOW!!!!

Have you ever read a book that leaves you speaking in incomplete sentences? Fighting The Odds by Hilary Storm is one of those books. Fighting The Odds continues with Luke's story, the heartbreak he's suffered and healing that he needs. I wasn't sure how I was going to react to Kimber, but I loved her. She is a great addition to the Rebel Walking group, and I can't wait to read more, The Rebel Walking Series is one of my absolute favorites and if you haven't read it yet, move it to the top of your TBR list. You will not be disappointed.

This book picks up with Luke's story after Lily's death...He's on his own living in a shit hole when he happens upon Kimber, who is having the shit kicked out of her by her boyfriend. He steps in and offers her a play to stay but in doing so puts himself in danger. While she is living with him feelings develop which he doesn't want after what happened with Lily, and he finds he may have to give his cover up in an attempt to help her.
I loved this story so emotional at times but well worth it !!! Loved howo it ended and can't wait for book 6 xx

OMG

When I first read Luke's first book, I seriously considered walking away from this series. That was a first for me. But then I had to keep reading to see where Hilary was going to take this story line. And let me tell you, I'm even more copious now. Kimber's story will break you just as much as Luke's will. I couldn't put this book down, I've put it off for months because I wasn't sure if I could handle the emotions that came with it. Now I just want the next book like yesterday.

I couldn't wait to read Luke's story. He was so devastated over Lilly's death. He walked away from everything and everyone even the band. He meets Kimber, actually saves her from an abusive boyfriend. He makes her feel safe, their connection is instant but he feels like he will never love or deserve anyone after Lilly. Kimber shows him and gives him the will to live again. I enjoy this series and excited that Luke's story will continue.
