Sarah Graham wakes, clutches her nauseous stomach, and wonders why she should be the one left … left alone. She is always the one rejected. Caroline and Julia are happily married to the two men that could have possibly loved her. Now, she has no decent man on her list, and she needs a husband.
Jackson Connors had faced the fear that he may have killed his uncle. But now that he might actually find out, he’s worried. Then just as he decides to discover the truth, he sees her, prickly Sarah, in such a light that she looks radiant. She won’t leave his mind. First, he needs to find out if he has a future.
Wait for your beloved! Don't settle for less! Old mountain man Cyrus treats Sarah like his daughter and gives her beautiful words of hope and encouragement. But she's running out of time, and hope! I loved how God's timing is perfect and he softens two hard hearts and brings peace and joy to their ragged lives!
Honestly, I don't know what to feel about Sarah. Be sorry for her or be irritated. While I understand where her fears were coming from, she didn't have the license to malign Julia in the previous book, Julia's Romance. Plus, the nerve of her to say Julia was stained when she wasn't pure anymore even if it was no fault of hers.
And that Bessy. Not only she was unfeeling, she was ingratitude as well. If she couldn't see past through Sarah's predicament, she should at least let Sarah stay without pay (even for a few days) because Sarah took care of her while everyone wanted to stay away from her due to the fear of getting contaminated. If she can't afford to let Sarah without getting paid, she could hire Sarah in exchange of shelter and food. Furthermore, her business was a boarding house, right? So, I'm pretty sure she had other rooms where she could profit from. Moreover, she serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hence, she has other means of income. Seriously, if this novel was not well-written, I might rate it lower because of the above logic.
Like what I have mentioned, it was a well-written story; I couldn't stop when I started reading it. There were some typographical errors, statements that seem like a question and vice versa.
Jackson was Thomas' brother. Thomas was the one that wrote initially for the mail order brides. He was a scoundrel of sorts before he came to know the Lord. Sarah was the last of the three mail order brides. She was a sad , lonely person who was grumpy and hard to know if please. After arrival in Hickory Stick she was attacked and sexually assaulted and now finds herself with child. She again finds herself being chased by her assailant in the middle of a Forrest and in a blizzard. Jackson finds her unconcance in the snow. Will she ever find a true love like in the romance books she reads?
Jackson had a rough start, life is hard for everyone, Sarah lost her family, and was all alone. She was looking for a husband, but the ones she wanted, fell in love with someone else. Jackson found Sarah out in the woods, sick and half frozen, nursed her back to health. Then they married. Thank you Patricia PacJac Carroll.
Sarah My Beloved is book Three of the series. The characters are wonderful they get more eccentric with each book. There's a little bit everything in this series and I'm enjoying every one.
Your stories come alive i like your character s. Each has something to love about them. I have been in Colorado so I could picture the mountains and the beautiful scenery that your character s experienced. I look forward to reading more.
I am so glad I found Patricia's books. I have yet to read one that didn't have me completely ingrossed. I loved Sara and Jackson's story. Looking forward to reading Joansy's story next
I really really enjoyed this book so very much. I loved that Sarah found Jesus and her Happy Ever after . SARAH MY BELOVED, MAIL ORDER BRIDES OF HICKORY STICK BOOK 3 BY PATRICIA PACJAC CARROLL . I recommend teens and up .
Love! Real love always finds a way! Patience and Gods will prevailing in every onslaught of the enemy. Giving Peace thru acceptance. Salvation is real when we really believe. Jesus died for all we only need to recognize the need for our savior
I thought this book was a good sweet read. The premise was unique and the writing flowed smoothly. I liked the fact that it wasn’t instant meet the man and get married. It shows that you can find love even when you are not looking for it and with someone that you don’t expect. No matter how ugly Sarah was, Jackson was not one to give up and was able to look past her hurts and past.
I didn’t suspect who the “red feather” attacker was until right before it was revealed. There were definitely some twists in the story that I didn’t see coming. It was nice to see how Jackson finally came to terms with loving Sarah and that it took a while for him to accept it. Once he accepted it, he was willing to do whatever it took to get Sarah to love him back. The only thing that I would have liked to seen was Bessy to have her own book versus “tossing” it in the book. I think that could have created a good story.
I can’t wait to read more from this author and see what happens with the rest of the Hickory Stick characters.
Sarah my Beloved book #3 (Mail Order Brides of Hickory Stick ) - Sarah Graham is the third woman to get out of the stage coach at Hickory Stick, Colorado. Caroline and Julia are already married. Sarah is still trying to find the right husband. She is shy, not to friendly both Carolina and Julie promised to help her find the right man to share her life with but they are both gone now. Sarah goes out in the falling snow but can hear in the woods she falls as the snow is falling harder. Someone finds her lying in the snow when she wakes up she is confused and doesn't know where she is and then someone steps forward but who is he?
The author knows how to keep you on the edge, all three books in this series were excellent, the books follow each other as if you are reading one long book. Patricia PacJac Carroll is an excellent author, the stories are well written, she brings tears to your eyes, pulls on you heart strings and knows when to make you laugh. An excellent series.
A troubled girl with a need to marry and only a limited choice of men. God surrounds this story .A warm glow of peace, happiness, and love. That is this book and its a beautiful thing.
