I hooked up with my dad's best friend. I was done pretending I didn't have a crush on him. Now I’m carrying his baby… and no one can ever know.
He was never supposed to touch me.
Twenty years older. All salt-and-pepper, custom suits, and a bossy, dirty mouth. The man who watched me grow up… then bent me over the bathroom sink at a bar and made me see stars.
I hated how much I wanted him. So I gave in. One filthy, forbidden hook up.
Then I found out I was pregnant. And vanished before he - or my father - could ever find out.
I never thought he'd track me down five years later.
“Izzy, I want you to work for me.”
Oh, Daddy. You have no idea I already have a job. And he looks just like you.
I read accidental Christmas daddy. Which I enjoyed. So I thought this would be a good read. Story was okay. Evil dad, dad’s cute best friend. One night stand = baby. Five years later story starts. Not bad, but author fell into, too much sex ( boring) and not enough attention for the couple relationship. Could have been a 4 star ⭐ but ended up a 3 star
Sim people living tm lives drinking latte in overpriced techbrolandia tm,
sexy times meh; character age inconsistent or ridiculous, evil parent, non existent family. Thinking wet dino pjs must be the Ai filler content of the month. No. 1 in the sucky waste reading time charts. 🤢
middle of the day liquor drinking would not allow Ethan to maintain washboard abs at 48, his crippled liver would most certainly show a saggy pooch
Plot was nonsensical, another girl roommate character who volunteers her life and financial resources to raise someone else’s kid only to have Mom disappear one day with the kid. mmm
I say this every time but I love everything written by Mia Mara and this book did not disappoint. This book started hot and didn't let up. Ethan and Izzy were fun, spunky and sparks were flying. The perfect balance of steam and drama with a little mystery. I couldn't put the book down!

I read "Accidental Dad's Best Friend" immediately after reading "Accidental Mile High Daddy" since it was mentioned at the end of the book. While I loved MHD, this one disappointed me a little with the editing. The punctuation is all over the place sometimes, the writing isn't done as well in various places, there's errors in it (even spelling the FMC's name wrong once)... The story itself is good, but it almost feels like this book came BEFORE the other one. Before she found an editor / proofreader. If this was one of her earlier books, I could understand it, but it surprises me, the difference between the two.
There's a couple of parts where I was thinking it was a bit weird (Ethan, the MC, has known Isabelle / Izzy her entire life. He practically helped raise her along side her dad. It's a bit unclear when he started looking at her as a woman. After high school? Or when she was older?). I'd remind myself it's an age gap romance and to skip over that point. I don't mind age gaps at all, but I guess it feels a little different when they knew them from infancy.
All of those critiques aside, I did enjoy the story. I like how Izzy was independent in nearly all aspects of her life. There was a little bit of mystery in the story (though I found it pretty predictable, for the most part), and none of the story lulled at any point, in my opinion.
If you enjoy age gap romances, this is a good one to read. The biggest reason for the lower rating is just the editing.
This was a pretty solid story with some suspense thrown in. And while I thought it was good, there was nothing too special that I found made it stand out. Good if you like hidden pregnancies, slower paced, age gap stories.
Accidental Dad's Best Friend is part of the Unintentionally Yours series. It's a steamy, secret pregnancy, OTT, girl gets her Dad's best friend romance. The story starts when Izzy is 30. She's a smart and sassy journalist. Ethan is a 48-year-old hunky silver fox who works for her father and happens to be her dad's best friend. She has crushed on him for some time. She ends up meeting him for drinks and they have a hot encounter in the bathroom. She ends up pregnant and leaves town. Five years later, her dad has screwed over Ethan and he seeks out Izzy to help with revenge. What happens when he finds out he has a son? Will Izzy let him in? The chemistry was insane. The banter was hysterical and the ending was so happy after the drama. Her dad is a piece of work.

I can't believe I finished this story. I took it out of my "reading" folder (aka DNF) because I decided to give the gorgeous man on the cover a chance, but unfortunately, he was the best part of this book.
The story is a mess. I know this is fiction, but it's impossible to connect with a story so far removed from reality. A man in regional publishing being a millionaire just as an employee? A publishing business thriving in just a couple of months? Who can believe she could hide in a neighboring town for six years with a baby? How could she register a baby without the father? As I said, it's messy, absurd, and ridiculous, and I haven't even gotten into the main plot yet.
Let's just say this: If Izzy was so mistreated by her father, and Ethan was his best friend who "helped him raise her," as he claimed, why didn't he stand up for her while she was growing up? Why did he let him hurt her? And why, after all that, did he sleep with her in a restaurant bathroom and then let her disappear? He then claims he never forgot about her and never had a relationship because he couldn't get her out of his mind. Yeah, sure. Man of the freaking century! Give him a prize!
The issue isn't the male lead; it's the writing. A shoddy writer.
I'm sorry, but it's the honest truth.
I give it 2 stars because I know how difficult it is to publish and to send your art out into the world. The rating is purely for the effort.
I'm not sure what's up with all the typos in this book but holy cow there were a ton! Definitely unexpected. Izzy was 30 according to Ethan at the beginning when they first hooked up. And then 5-6 years later when they saw each other again, she was still 30. I'd like to not age like that in reality lol
The story overall wasn't terrible. Though I kinda expected another pregnancy at the end and there wasn't one. By then he was pushing 50 though. But it would have been a fun/happy ending to have her pregnant that Ethan didn't miss out on.
The dad, Liam, just wasn't very realistic. He is this psycho who puts everyone down all the time and yet they were able to run him off with no additional words from him? Just didn't seem realistic to me.
And the fact that Ethan found out about Jaxon and then stayed away for a month? Also didn't seem fitting for the guy.
Idk. Too many holes that could have been better filled and typos that should have been fixed in editing.
Accidental Dad's Best Friend by Mia Mara is a lovely romance between Izzy and Ethan. Izzy's father is a piece of work in the journalism industry. Ethan works for him and they have been friends for years. Izzy's dad has never treated her well and after screwing Ethan over, Ethan wants to give him his comeuppance. He enlists Izzy to help him with this. Izzy has a secret she does not want Ethan or her father to know. So while Izzy and Ethan get closer romantically, her secret will eventually come out. The characters are excellent, the writing and plot development meets every expectation and there is even a plot twist. Her writing is enjoyable. Mia Mara consistently delivers and she does with this romance, as well.

The story was decent enough, and I would have given it a higher rating if it wasn't for the maddening number of plot/character discrepancies throughout! Right at the beginning, we're told Izzy is 23, and Ethan is 43. Then, a chapter later, we're fast forwarded 5 years, but Izzy is 30, and Ethan is 48, which does not match the math from the chapter before. Then a few chapters later it states Izzy's in her "early thirties" which implies she's older than the 30 reported earlier, and still not matching the 28 she should be based on the plot point from the first chapter.
Then, later on, Jaxon jumps from 5 to seven years old in just one year, continuing the discrepancy madness.
The sloppy writing and failure to match up all these points made the story tedious to read and ruined the larger story for me.
Wow, what a great story. It won’t take you long to become emotionally involved with Izzy and Ethan. He was her dad’s best friend, twenty years older and off limits. She’d always had a crush on him but he only saw her as his best friend’s little girl. Until running into her one night and wow, how grown up she’d become. A forbidden one night and a surprise pregnancy caused her to leave town. What happens when he tracks her down five years later? What about the child he never knew about? Twists, surprises and steam. Eventually an HEA and no cliffhanger. I read a free arc via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
Bit of a forbidden subject here - dad's best friend! This story by one of the best romance novelists covers a multitude of topics - toxic familial relationships, unemployment, integrity and most of all chemistry between forbidden lovers. The main characters "joust" in the story and while Ethan's role seems almost believable, the single-minded stunbornness of Izzy is compelling. Can't lie some elements you can almost seem coming, but it was easy read.

Ethan works for Liam, they actually started the magazine together. Liam lost his wife giving birth to Izzy, his daughter. He never paid attention to her or really praised her much. Ethan noticed how beautiful and sexy she was. When she couldn’t hold her attraction for Ethan anymore, she kissed him and it lead to a night of sex. Izzy was pregnant and left. No talking or relationship with her father or Ethan. Now Ethan found her and wants her to work for him, no idea he has a son. This is a very crazy story of secrets…
I quite enjoyed this book, it's medium burn for spice but very slow burn for story. Ethan and izzy have know each other all her life but he never had any feelings for her till he sees her again as an adult trying to offer her a job which results in a once off hook up and a pregnancy. He does not know about the pregnancy or the child and she fails to tell him, which I didn't really like and was my main dislike for the book. It is HEA.
Accidental Dad's Best Friend by Mia Mara is part of the Unintentionally Yours Series. Izzy and Ethan's story is a hot one. Izzy has always had a crust on her dad's friend who is 20 years older and Ethan always saw her as a little girl. When they see each other again she is all grown up and this is their story. Mia Mara really knows how to write a romance that pulls you in and keeps you until the last page.

This is a new to me author. The story was a lot of we can’t be together but let’s go ahead and make some steam. The premise was good just not as well executed as others I’ve read. There were also a lot of errors and wrong words. The ending was satisfying, it just took a lot of twists to get there. I am interested enough to try the next book the author writes.
Not worth the read! They just loved having sex with each other. No love in sight. The plot line was everywhere and honestly didn’t even make sense. His reaction to his own son was childish for his age even after being lied to. Honestly most of the book it didn’t even seem like she had a child at all. It was just weird.
Izzy had a crush on Ethan, her dad's best friend, since she was a teenager. When she is in her mid-20s, she has a one-night stand with Ethan that resulted in a pregnancy. After that, she left Denver and rears her son on her own. When her son is five, Ethan comes back into her life, not knowing Izzy had a son, let alone knowing that he was the father of Jaxon.
I liked this book. It was a satisfying ending, but there were no surprises for me. I guessed pretty much everything that would happen, and there were some errors in the book that threw me a few times. All in all, I liked Accidental Doctor Daddy more than this one. This one was fun, good, and sweet though. It was a fun read.
WOA BABY. This age gap romance book is going to heat things up and I don't just mean the outside temperature. This book by Mia is MAGNIFICENT and I give it 10 stars. Hot storyline and characters make this a real page turning hard to put down read.
Fine line between “taboo” and “grooming” and I was very happy to see that this story fell on the good side of slightly taboo. Age gap romances are always considered controversial but this story was sassy and classy. It was a delight to read.
This story fell flat for me. Was very boring and hard to get through. I did not like the MFC, she is very selfish person in all ways. Also the story was very predictable.
Honestly, after the entire unintentionally your series, I wouldn’t say I don’t like this book. It was an enjoyable read, but it did not compare to the other two if I’m being honest. It lacked the excitement.
The book was great. The only thing is I wish it gave us a little more detail on the secretary. Who was the child’s father and why was she obssessed with one of her bosses. Could it be a previous worker?
Someone needs to go back and edit the book. Read it from the beginning. You will find errors with the ages. It says she’s 30 at the beginning and he’s 43 but they are supposed to be 18 years apart. Then 5 years later she’s still 30 and he’s 48.
