At the age of twenty, Violet Sullivan is on her way to having everything she's ever wanted. Her first art show was a success, and despite a slight altercation with the gallery owner, she knows that she is going to go places. A husband and children aren't on her horizon. She can't have a career and a family, can she? The only thing Jonas Smith can concentrate on is justice. His sister and brother-in-law have been murdered, and he won't be able to rest until he sees their killer brought to justice. He only wishes he could stop thinking about Violet Sullivan. Will the two of them be able to see past their differences to find the passion lurking inside? Will they find love before it's too late?
This story is very touching and somewhat funny in places. Nathan is just the sweetest little boy and he just steals your heart as do all the characters. Loved reading this one as well!!
Another wonderful series by Osbourne. I love the flower girls! And Osbourne always writes with such a great sense of humor, you will be laughing out loud.
Violet, sister 7 of the flowers, has always been a gifted artist. She has provided her brothers-in-law with miniature portraits of the 8 sisters so they won't get too confused. At 20 she is having her first art show in Seattle with all of the sisters present. She does not expect to marry.
Jonas owns the gallery that is showing Violet's work. After an initial clash with Violet, he decides that she should have a show at his New York gallery. He is raising his young nephew after his sister's murder.
Edna, a retired milliner in her 70's, is hired as the chaperone because no one wants Violet's mother to go along. Edna is a hoot. She provides a great comical element to this mostly lighthearted story. She takes on the middle name of Petunia to fit with the sisters. She gets her own story in book 9.
As an aside, I haven't really liked the cover art for this series. However, I think the the portrait of Violet is beautiful and the dress is spot on.
What is Walton Dalton doing in New York? And why was he on the train to Chicago in Mail Order Melody?
How do you consistently surpass yourself with each book? Your wicked sense of humor is just so awesome. Edna Blue is sheer genius. With your epilogue as the introduction to Iris, you truly need to commence working on it very soon because I don't think I am going to be able to wait much longer. Can I give you 6 Stars? Totally loved Violet.
I have enjoyed this series very much, however Violets story was not as good as the other in my opinion.
She seemed immature and well a little loose moraled for the time period. Also I did not feel Jacob was very attractive. he seemed, well cold for want of a word.
I just did not feel a connection or the romance between the two characters as in past books.
A beautiful love story with lots of drama attached!! Violet and Jonah head to New York for a gallery showing for Violet. Violet hires Edna as a chaperone. You will laugh out loud over Edna and have drama over the murder of Jonah's sister and husband. Highly recommend you grab this book and enjoy their journey to HEA!!
This is the seventh sister's story of finding love when it's not expected. This story is delightful with Edna Blue and her way of speaking her mind. This began with grief, then excitement, daring, suspense and heartwarming love.
Another Very Good Story. This Lady Edna in this Story is out of this world funny. This Story has everything you could ask for. Adventure, Drama, Happiness, And Love Of A Huge Family. Just Love this Series Shirley Ketcham
