Mike The superstar goalie was traded to the Toronto Blaze only to lose to his former team in the playoffs. Now Toronto hates him. Still, ‘kidnapping’ him and dragging him to her home to play road ball was a little excessive. But road ball was fun, and the short tempered red-haired swimming coach understood him and helped him regain his confidence. Essentially adopted by the O’Reilly clan, Mike was less lonely, and he was drawn to Bridget. But he learned long ago that when it came to relationships and hockey, hockey always won, with someone else paying the price. How much could he ask Bridget to sacrifice?
Bridget Her temper wasn’t THAT bad, but there were a few things that set her off. With five older brothers, any indication she couldn’t keep up with them was a trigger. How else could she explain coercing a hockey superstar to play road hockey to prove she knew the sport? Fortunately Mike took it well, and they became friends. Mike and the O’Reilly family were spending time together, and Bridget couldn’t resist falling for him. But he had a demanding career leading him in one direction, and hers was headed somewhere else. Could she give up her professional dreams for a chance at love?
Bridget is a swimming coach at a private club, she persuaded the committee to allow some local children in, for free, to learn to swim, the manager is not happy about it. Mike is a goalie for Toronto hockey team, he was traded from Quebec and hasn't gelled with the team, in fact the team isn't really playing as a team. He sees Bridget when he's swimming at the club and although he'd like to get to know her better he's concentrating on his career, he hasn't got many years left to play. After a game he goes back to the club to talk to her, when she comes out her face lights up but she's not looking at him! hilarious! She gets cross and takes him to her home, which is the basement of her family home, they play street hockey and her brothers join in. Then he's 'adopted' by her mother, so when he's injured and living in a hotel room her mother arranges for her to help him out!
