After an airship crash, Twist and his friends are rescued by a cloud-borne tribe of Native-Americans only to find themselves quickly caught up in an evil Cypher plot. While fighting for freedom, unsettling questions arise about Twist and Jonas.

In this exciting third installment of the Clockwork Twist series, Twist and his companions continue to travel the globe, from San Francisco to Cuba, and to the bottom of the Caribbean Sea. Along the way they reunite with old friends and enemies, while also making intriguing new allies. One of these is a strange young boy who shares other people’s dreams whenever he falls asleep.

While Myra and Natasha Samara entertain adoring crowds on their world-wide theater tour, Twist and Jonas discover ominous new mysteries surrounding the odd connection between their Sights. Twist also comes to realize that his and Jonas’s Sights are uniquely powerful and dangerous when compared to those of all other Sighted people.

When Twist and his companions find themselves unexpectedly faced with a fierce and inescapable Cypher lord, it’s up to Twist alone to save them all. Will Twist be able to best such a formidable foe? Will he and his friends be doomed to flee from the evil Cyphers for the rest of time? Find out, in this action-packed adventure!

I cannot emphasise enough how in love with this series I am, and this book 3 is no different in fact the adventures and absurdities keep getting better with each book. This time around Myra and Tasha have been sent out on a world double act tour after a compromise was reached with Aden the Rook's leader. They are travelling in San Francisco and on to Santiago when Twist gets invited to join a sight circle, and though Jonas tries to warn him away from attending, he gets roped in and ends up realising that Jonas was right. Santiago is crazy and all things seem to be permissible to Twist's chagrin. Then their airship is taken over by a group of cloud living people who seem to be native American and they are taken prisoner, but are saved by a young boy who has a wonderful and strange sight gift. He knows all about Jonas, Twist and the rest of their group through their dreams which he manages to enter and view. Storm, is in grave danger so once they escape they take him with them, and he proves to be worth having along, as he often saves their lives. The cyphers are still after them and one of their main leaders makes a deal with the pirate Quay who tries to sell them out but believe or not Twist saves their lives. He seems to be the one who is changing the most during these adventures and the one invested the most to keep them safe since he is fighting for both Jonas and Myra, his two most beloved friends in all his life. Poor Myra gets thrown into the ocean but she is indestructible it seems and game for any adventure. Jonas and Twist are becoming stronger together and their sight is so very different to everyone else's, people are starting to comment. I cannot wait to go on reading this really fun series which keeps me totally enthralled.

Book three done - and I give myself a pass on the other sequels.
The author's writing style is improved from the first book, which makes me feel like book 1 should have had 1 star. The difference is that dramatic. The author teases elements of Jonas' character that would be interesting to explore, but primarily uses a 10 year old who seems intent on over sharing to do it. At times I feel like there are three characters and stock figures.
As a native of San Francisco, I also took a degree of umbrage to her description of the moisture and salt in the air. Lots of the fog being in and the scent of salt in the air. When the fog is in, you smell water, but not salt. Felt like she saw an old photo of the Cliff House and made assumptions based on other sea-side towns.

The third book in the twist series is as good as one and two. Twist and his companions get into so many situations that nearly get them killed, but manage to escape thanks to their Sights, and pick up extra friends on the way. I've loved these three books so far - the adventures never stop. At the end of this book, Twist realises that he's changed so much that his quiet house in London and all his clocks, that were his whole life, mean so little to him anymore that he might as well sell it. The evolution of his relationships with Myra and Jonas are so profound, I can't wait to start book four!

An intense story

Twist gets better at harnessing and controlling his fear. The intrepid friends are faced with several challenges and, with Twist's surprising abilities, they are successful. A very fun read.

Loved coming back to the series! The story is not rambling. It's only ramping up. Love the tension and affection between the characters, especially the main three!
