Pack Scratch Fever

Rate this book
Who needs a pack when you can have cats?

Piper has everything she wants, even if others call her a crazy cat lady.

She doesn't need a pack--she has a cat rescue and enough cuddly felines to keep her company.

She definitely isn't attracted to the handsome Alpha lawyer that smells like catnip and claims he doesn't like cats.

But when a cat colony shows up in the backyard of his packhouse, Piper has no choice but to help Poe and his packmates Avery and Maddox.

One is a photographer with a heart of gold, and the other is a obsessive tech wiz.

She swears they're not scent matches, but fate has other plans.

When she finally lets them close, a betrayal threatens to ruin everything she holds dear, including her cat rescue.

Will the pack be able to win Piper's trust back and make her realize she's the Omega of their dreams?

Or is she doomed to be a cat lady, packless and alone forever?

Pack Scratch Fever is a sweet why choose Omegaverse set at a cat rescue! Set in multiple 1st person POV, this is a standalone with a guaranteed HEA.

This was so fun, and if you’re looking for a light read or you’re in a slump I would recommend this.
I wont go into the plot much cause the description pretty much sums it up. The fmc was strong, feisty and funny and the 3 mmcs all had different personalities so u could really tell them apart. It was a good book to read in between heavier stuff.

Safety: completely safe. No virgins, no manwhores. The fmc is an omega and they go through heats often but its also emotionally draining and they need after care so the only time the om is mentioned is her last hook up that didn’t provide the care she needed and since then she suppressed her heats.
The mmc were possessive and loyal. There was no ow/owd and no info given on their history but they are close to their forties so they were experienced.

It was cute❤️ As a cat lady, I loved all the part about cat rescue and I have to say that my favorite is actuall Mister Whiskers😂😂

I adored this one! Sugary sweet and fluffy, but also dealing with darker subjects and some decent spice! Our h is quite damaged by her parents always telling her she wasn’t good enough, but she is strong and has built a good life for herself. Our H’s are the ultimate combo: a grumpy alpha one, a sweet caring one, and a cocky funny one. They want h as soon as they see her and pursue her relentlessly. Some mistakes are made and we get some good grovel.
All in all, I enjoyed this!

Safety:
- No OW/OM
- No cheating
- Short separation (couple days) but Hs do everything they can to get h back.
- Parental (mental) abuse

Piper is always fighting herself against the negative voices in her head, thanks to her parents and siblings. When she finally meets her scent matches Poe, Avery, and Maddox, she almost doesn’t know what to do with them and certainly doesn’t believe they could possibly want her for their omega. They are endlessly patient with her. Even Poe, who had a bit of a rough start with her. After a big misunderstanding with the alphas and after an injury from the cat rescue lands her in the hospital, things come to a head. Poe, Avery, and Maddox get there just in time to help back Piper against her parents. They finally worked through their differences and made it to their happily ever after. Loved it!

It's a mashup of incongruous over the top reactivity

I don't really hate this book but I didn't enjoy it enough to recommend it either. The biggest trend is reactions in excess of the situation causing major strife. The storyline does move along at a decent clip but that might be the best asset - quick pacing.

Piper is one of my least favorite types of FMC. She's a wuss, she's got the logic capability of a house fly trying to escape an open window, and she has no personality (except that bound in cats). She claims to be independent from her supposedly horrible parents but isn't smart enough to pay off her car with some of her inheritance. She is hung up on one bad experience created by her own horrifically bad choices. Somehow she, and the author, don't realize that running a cat rescue which you fund almost exclusively from your own savings account is NOT A LIVELIHOOD. She makes zero income from it. Her survival is limited to the duration of her inheritance which was supposed to cover a college degree, so probably wouldn't last more than a few years.

Poe is a terribly written MMC. He is a complete nightmare the first like 3 times he interacts with Piper. He doesn't really redeem himself before she decides to jump in with him. He also has the logic skills of a house fly, making terrible business decisions for someone who is apparently rich off the excellence of his law practice.

Avery and Maddox are fine, mostly. Avery's background is vaguely touched on and his reactivity seems excessive to what he describes. Maddox is the most sensible as far as past trauma influencing current emotions. He's also the most annoying and childish.

The plot threads regarding Piper's parents, outside of the money to an extent, are bizarre and unnecessary. There is no reason they would continue contact without anything to gain from Piper. Her sisters gave them some twisted sense of pride. She gives them nothing until they decide to try to claim her inheritance. If that was what they truly wanted, they would have grabbed for it much sooner.

Sweet found family/pack

**SPOILERS**

Piper’s life is her cat rescue which she runs with her best friend Blair. She suppresses her heats and lives for her cats. One day a grumpy alpha who smells like catnip and herbs drops off a kitten he found in his backyard. He’s rude, demanding, and quite possibly Pipers’s scent match.

Poe is an overworked lawyer that lives with his packmates and is not ready to welcome a feisty cat lady omega into his life…but life often hands you the unexpected. Maddox and Avery his packmates are all in the second they see Piper’s photo and start thinking of ways to make her rescue even better. Poe apologizes for his behavior and the pack moves into courting their crazy cat lady omega. She’s happy for the first time in her life until she gets a rude awakening. Her parents want to sue her for using het inheritance on the cat rescue and Poe bought her building and increased her rent. She’s livid and hurt and feels betrayed!

Poe is miserable and instantly dismantles his law firm, buys the building/strip mall and starts to think of ways to expand the cat rescue. While in the hospital (Piper got an infection from a cat scratch) she’s attacked by her parents who want her to sign some nefarious paperwork. Piper refuses and her alphas come to her rescue. Piper realizes that her alpha scent matches have done so much for her and they mean everything they say. Poe even adopted Mr. Whiskers the meanest and most ornery cat at the rescue. Poe decides to expand the rescue to include vet services and more and Piper realizes these are men she can trust. She goes home with them to start her new beautiful life with them!

**THOUGHTS/OPINIONS**

This is such a sweet omegaverse including sweet cats and grumpy alphas who just need the love of their scent matched omega. I loved the dynamics between Piper and her alphas, and pipers friends are awesome, so are the crazy cats and kittens. I loved seeing how Piper grew past her fear to let her alphas in. I would’ve given this five stars except the showdown with her awful, narcissistic parents was anticlimactic snd once again came at the end of the book. I loved that her alphas defended her but I would’ve liked if they had taken everything from the money grubbing parents. The idea of them getting arrested for tax fraud was very appealing. I wish there had been more consequences for how they treated their sweet daughter. I didn’t like the idea that they got to go back to their stuck up lives thinking she was inferior to her probably stuck up stupid sisters. Other than that, the book was sweet, easy to read, and filled with enough spice to balance the sweetness of the book.

Omg this book was everything I expected and more!!! It was absolutely so adorable and I loved everyone so much! I mean how cutie is it that our girl Piper runs a cat rescue?????? And she found her pack Poe, Maddox, and Avery there!!!!! I honestly can’t decide who is my fav bc I loved them all so much! I mean from the moment they all met they knew they were meant for eachother, even if some of them got off on the wrong foot🤣it was so cute to see how each of her pack members not only reassured her of her place in their life, but loved her through all their actions! I honestly loved this story so much and can’t wait to find out more about Blair!!! Her story is so interesting and I can’t wait to see what happened to her pack. If you love cats, why choose, and funny, cheesy moments, then this story is for you!

This was my first read by this author, and I liked it, but felt a little lost. I had to stop and check if this was a spinoff and needed to read other books first to understand this world. It’s not , but took me a bit to figure it out, because it seemed like I was supposed to understand omega-verse. I thought alpha and omegas meant they were shifters of a sort, but I guess not?

**This is an Omegaverse book, meaning that the characters do NOT shift. They have dog/cat-like tendencies, experience heats, have packs, purr, growl, nest, and have a hierarchy. If you want werewolves, you'll have to look for a shifter romance.

This was cute and fluffy. While there is friction and problems that need to be overcome, the males, for the most part, are absolutely enamored with the FMC, Piper. Avery and Maddox are absolutely in love with Piper the moment they smell her on their pack leader, Poe. Poe, on the other hand, takes a little while to come around because he's experiencing burnout from work. The males are all soft and kind to Piper, and there's no sort of abuse that happens there. There is a third-act-breakup though. It was the pack's fault, but it wasn't intentional. It is dramatic and traumatic for everyone, but they make up for it.

While I really enjoyed the characters of the book, and the premise was cute, Poe (who hates cats) happens to smell like catnip and falls for Piper, who has a cat rescue, there was a little something missing. I think a lot of books do this, and it's a bummer. There is a backstory for Avery and Maddox, and sort of with Poe, but there's no drama or plot with it. There's only major problems for Piper. Since this is from all of their different points of view, it's hard to believe the story when all of the guys have no problems (except for Piper being happy). You can argue that Poe being overworked is a problem, but you don't see it, besides him being late and grouchy. There were no coworkers he yelled at, no students Avery talked with, and nothing Maddox did besides put his laptop down. We get to meet Blair, Piper's business partner and best friend, so why not do that with the guys, too?

The heat scenes were kind of repetitive, and they basically passed her around. They only use two Ds and once at the very end. It was very vanilla in that sense. Lots of eating out, wayyyy too many orgasms (it became repetitive and unrealistic).

The bonding happened at the very end and truthfully felt like an afterthought. There were no real thoughts or feelings in it. Since it happened at the very end, there was no getting used to it for any of them, which was a bummer. It was the biggest letdown of the book and a big reason it got 4 stars instead of 5.

Another reason I listed it as 4 instead of a 5 is because: nothing happened with her terrible parents. Poe said he was going to destroy her father, Maddox said he was going to kill him, and Avery hinted at how he probably committed tax fraud. But none of them did anything. Sure, they stood up to them initially, but that was just barely with words. It wasn't enough.

Anyway, it's a good OV (omegaverse) book, with cuddly alphas, and a heroine that only drives you slightly insane. The best friend was awesome, and the plot idea was cute. I recommend it for romance readers, people who like fluff, OV readers, and people who like cats.

Lovely read.

The storytelling was coherent, consistent and smooth. The female lead was resolute, direct and her interactions with the men were so enjoyable to read. The male leads were distinct, entertaining and likable, even the mandatory ahole. The relationship-building was adorable and actually romantic, something that is missing in many so-called 'romances'. Smut ranged from okay to provocative with no ickiness.

And the epilogue was hilarious!!!

My one criticism is nothing about the female lead's internal conflict made sense.

Regardless, I still recommend it because, overall, it was a lovely cozy story!

It Was Meant To Be 😍🐱

What do you do when you run a cat rescue, keep suppressing your heat, and then meet a grumpy alpha that literally smells like catnip, plus his two pack mates that look at you like you’re good enough to eat…well, if you’re Piper, then you deny the pull you feel as much as possible 🤦🏻‍♀️😝 Let’s face it though, an omega that runs a cat rescue is meant to be with an alpha that smells like catnip…whether they like it or not 😂 Poe’s pack, Avery & Maddox, had to work double time to get the other 2 on board with what they knew the moment they scented Piper…she was meant to be their omega, and they weren’t going to stop until that became reality. What followed was a story full of humor, laughter, stubbornness, denial, chemistry, passion, friendship, romance, love, and most importantly, LOTS of cute & adorable kitty cats 😝🐱 I laughed so much, but I also found myself fanning my face a few times (hard not to with an alpha like Maddox, so intense, and sweet Avery, who was so genuine). It was a perfect balance of plot, likable characters (yes, even grumpy Poe, who totally redeemed his early mess ups, so we kind of overlook his natural grumpiness 😉), and just the right amount of spice & romance. And OMG, the epilogue…y’all, it had to be the most creative & adorable one I’ve ever read 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I really hope we get Blair’s story next….after the craziness in this book, she totally deserves it ❤️

I really really wanted to like this. Omegaverse plus cat lady sounds like something I would love. Story starts off ok but once it gets to the spicy scenes it goes down hill for me.
First MMC literally counts her O’s out loud. Me I’d be like yeah I am here I know how many I am having now shut up give them to me or get out. It was cringe. 2nd MMC tells FMC to water board him. Just ick. Did you not have a beta reader who could tell you no sweetie that is a horrible idea? All the spicy scenes were turn offs. FMC comes off as not confident but decides to dim the guy. Just trying too hard awkward. Too much talking during spicy scenes.

FMC is upset her past heats she wasn’t taken care afterwards but after her heat with the 3 MMC she’s upset that they let her business partner know she wasn’t going to be in cause of her heat. Not wanting to depend on anyone.
Also most animals including cats do NOT like lemon scents as it is too strong scented for them but apparently after her heat there combined scents attracted multiple cats? When heat amplifies your scent? Not sure the author really knows much about cats and should have at least googled it.
In the end I just couldn’t finish it. I loved the premise but the actual story fell flat.

This was such a cute, cozy read! I loved Piper, Blair, and their cat rescue (which, by the way, has the cutest name ever).

Poe, Maddox, and Avery were all great—well, Poe after he stops being a total scrooge—but let’s be honest, Avery completely stole the show. Hands down, no contest, front of the line: he’s the top Alpha in this pack. Sweet, patient, and genuinely kind, Avery breaks the mold. He’s not your typical possessive alpha; if anything, he’s a little submissive—and total perfection because of it.

Also, a huge WTF (and FU) to Piper’s parents. The. Worst.

I’m really intrigued by Blair’s backstory, and I can’t wait to dive into her book in December!

I can’t resist a good omegaverse, especially not one written by Liliana! They’re utterly addicting and like candy for your brain, and Pack Scratch Fever was no exception!
.
I loved that the cat rescue played a large role, it was such a cute and heartwarming aspect of the storyline! Reading about all of their different personalities and antics brought me so much joy! There also just so happens to be a very special POV that I was livingggg for!
.
This was also one of my favorite packs to read, I was a GONER for Maddox immediately ::swoon:: I also really enjoyed seeing the pack work through their individual flaws together, it lends a sense of realness and made me even more invested in their character arcs. As always, the spice be SPICY and I was here for it, it was the perfect palate cleanse after several DNFs in a row. I’m selfishly hoping this isn’t the last we’ll see from this cast of characters, there’s a few I’m so curious to learn more about and I’d happily live in a world of Liliana’s making for a while longer!

Rescue, Romance, and Redemption!

I really enjoyed this book from Liliana Carlisle! The cat rescue omegaverse premise was so unique and intriguing.

Piper, an omega who co-owns Furs and Purrs, has had nothing but bad luck in the alpha department. Add in her low self-esteem and toxic parents, and life hasn’t been kind to her. Thankfully, she has the love and affection of the cats she rescues and eventually, the devotion of three very different alphas.

Poe, the grumpy alpha who can’t stand cats, Avery, the sensitive photographer, and Maddox, the misunderstood tech genius, all fall hard and fast for Piper. Of course, they also manage to royally screw things up, and it takes real effort on their part to earn her forgiveness.

I especially loved the cats, and Mister Whiskers was an absolute delight with his grumpy little personality. This book was heartfelt, fun, and full of charm. I can’t wait to dive into Blair’s story next!

Omegaverse and Cats?! Sign me up! Any story that features the four legged fluff balls is going to be a win for me and totally going either to the straight to read list or the TBR while I wait for it to release. I love most animals but having grown up with cats makes the judgy rotten lovable fluff balls all that more special. Mister Whiskers is an absolute riot with his sassy grumpy old man behavior. And I always love seeing someone grow and fall for a cat. Cats can be both independent creatures and very dependent on their chosen humans. I didn’t know about cat mint before reading this book, I know about cat nip and it being apart of the mint family but I ended up going down a rabbit hole with cat mint and all the different types. I loved the story and I’m always down for an OV book as something about the whole scent match/soul mate thing always leaves me feeling happy inside.

Pretty basic omega verse comfort read! Omega doesn’t know how to be properly loved because of low self esteem issues and then ofc there’s conflict with one of the alphas for being a prick and then everyone makes up and heat arises.

Only differences I really liked was Avery’s character, especially with his alpha being more on the submissive side, that was fire to see and of course the aspect of a cat lady/ running a shelter that was interesting. I also liked that they actually each went on a date before jumping into forever.

I had it at a 3.5 rating but that heat scene really boosted it up to a 4! Great stuff :)) But I do think that the characters, especially the male ones were a bit lackluster, maybe it was the fact that the romance was so green flag that made it feel passionless? Not too sure but still really enjoyed the read, especially the epilogue, lots of funny moments sprinkled within!

Once it hit me that the timeline was only about 2 weeks for this whole story, it started falling into the world of just wildly OTT.

It is a cute book, and an easy light-hearted read so no issues there. Having the grumpy one who doesn't like cats be scented like catnip was super cute and fun too.

Everything about this book was instant though, which seems weird for a 350 page book. They instantly knew she was theirs. They instantly got hot and heavy. She instantly went into heat. She instantly left them. She instantly forgave them. The issues were instantly handled. They instantly fell in love. Feel like you get my point.

I don't actually consider any of those things spoilers, it's pretty obvious in the blurb and by the story framing what is going to happen.

I write reviews mainly for my own records.

DNF. RH. IT WASN’T BECAUSE OF THE CATS! The cat interactions were the best parts of the whole book. I would’ve actually been quite okay if the drama had had less words and the cats, more!
I dnf’ed after Piper came at their house after being ill. I just wasn’t interested enough to finish unfortunately. I didn’t really like Piper. I get how trauma forms your patterns, but it all felt really ‘i’m the victim in all this, you need to be perfect so you don’t hurt me or make up big time, because of past trauma’. Which actually is quite consistent with her trauma and patterns, so well done for the author, but i really disliked it. The way she was so forward while having sex felt weird with what we know about her.
The plot actually feels done after they safe the rescue and they stand up to her parents. So maybe that’s why i lost interest. Even skimming couldn’t hold it.

A cute omegaverse romance revolving around cats.

Our FMC is running a cat rescue with her best friend when one day our MMCs start showing up with kittens that have started infiltrating their backyard. As the MCs work together to get the cat colony out of the backyard they start to get to know each other and build relationships.

It was a pretty straight forward story and you knew where things were going, but it also managed to bring up some real insecurities that ppl face. The relationship building felt slow and real as MC dealt with the traumas of their pasts making opening up difficult.

I’ll probably be picking up the next book in the series as I’m curious who this best friend will end up with.

These alphas are so sweet!
Our girl Piper is a stubborn, independent omega who has not only been hurt by her family, but she's been treated terribly by previous alphas. She invests all her time into her cat shelter with her BFF Blair. As she's trying to ignore her upcoming heat, into the shelter walks a rude and grumpy alpha with a kitten to drop off. Piper is not impressed....okay she is, just not with his attitude. So what happens when he gets home and the other two pack mates smell their scent matched omega on him? Well abosolutely they are going to check out this shelter for themselves. There will definitely be some mistakes and some grovel so buckle up for the ride.

I absolutely loved this book! I expected it to be sweet and fluffy, and it certainly was, but it also had enough angst, trauma, and drama to keep me very engaged.

The humor, especially when it involves Maddox or Piper, added to the enjoyment. For example, there’s a funny quote from Piper: "Other times, Poe is riding a giant Mister Whiskers like a horse, wearing a ridiculous cowboy hat."

The epilogue had me laughing too; I loved it!

Avery was my favorite character by far; his sweet and adorable nature drew me in right from the start.

I can see a whole series coming from this. I hope Blair gets her own story, as her past intrigued me and I would love to know more
