A decent hi-lo nonfiction title. I was happy to see that the author didn't cover only Robinson's time with the Dodgers but did a full time-line on his life including rough child life and his continued efforts to give African-Americans the equality they deserved throughout his lifetime. I do wish the art was a bit better. The lines are too heavy and anything that isn't immediately close by is rendered very poorly. But it's a book meant to stimulate interest and get kids reading more than have appealing earth-shattering art so I don't mind it. It's suitable for the purpose of the text.
