Junior surgeon Kara Stephens has been assigned her very first high profile case, it's to help an injured princess. Fabulous news right ?

Not quite, when she has to work with hotshot Irish surgeon Declan Underwood. Now you might be thinking working with hot Dr is never bad for any woman, but when he is the same man she kissed at hospital ball, it places a whole new spin on the entire situation, talk about uncomfortable!

Declan is well known for being a total heartbreaker and woman all over would rather see him tied to a tree and be whipped then back in their beds, but lucky for him his legendary surgeon skills make up for it and he is famous in his own right.

His glamorous life in London however is a far cry from the poverty- stricken childhood he once knew, and he would rather keep hidden. But when Declan and Kara are tossed into each other's lives there is no denying their feels for each other, only Kara is not prepared for this to be a non lasting relationship and Declan does not believe it things lasting forever, if it does not work he walks away end of story of is is?

This was a very lovely afternoon read full of emotional drama and a sweet romance building to a passionate relationship. The characters were well written and the author created them both with realistic perfection , it was as if I was reading about a true life relationship instead of a fictionally created one.

Both characters emotions, actions and reactions were that of what we would do in real life, it did not feel as if it was something no person will say or do, I find in some medical romances that the actions and sayings of the characters just don't feel real and am left thinking " Really, where did the author come up with this?" , thankfully not the case in this medical romance, nicely done Louisa!

I am taking away a message of our past might not be anything like our current situations, it could be worse or better, but it does not matter. The point is how you handle your situation , if you flounce it off and try to cover it with misguided actions you will only be seen as a terrible person making you no better than your past. But if you face up to it and try to make it better than your past would have done, then the true you will show through.

I recommend this read for all fans of medical romance reads, that love a good and sweet tender romance with a bit of a feisty streak and crackling tension.

Another fabulous read - this series has exceeded all my expectations. Usually, I find in a collection like this, I'll be lucky if I enjoy 50% of the books. So far, I've enjoyed them all.

Declan and Kara's story is a little predictable until it isn't! It's very well written as I would expect from this author and I totally recommend it.

The Shameless Maverick is one of the 200 Harley Street medical romances by Louisa George.
Declan Underwood is a noted reconstructive surgeon at the Hunter Clinic. His most recent patient is Princess Safia who had been in an automobile accident and was badly burned on her face and her hands. The Shiekh is concerned with getting her the best help and the best security. Kara Stephens from Australia has been relocated to help him as his junior surgeon is out with a family emergency.
Declan was born and brought up in Ireland in very poor conditions. His mother and sisters are still there. He hasn’t been to see his mother in over a year and his sister Niamh has been calling him to get him to come home for his mother’s birthday. When he was young, his mother was badly burned in a house fire and afterwards his father left them, leaving Declan in charge of his mother and four sisters. He does not need another woman in his life.
Kara has come from Australia to begin her life anew. Her marriage had not turned out as she had expected but before anything could be done to salvage it, her husband was killed in Afghanistan. She had come to London to further her career and to start anew, without men.
The two met at the Christmas Ball that the Hunter Clinic held. She begged him to kiss her and then she ran. He had not forgotten that kiss nor had she. Neither is exceptionally happy about working together but will make the best of it as they are both fantastic doctors.
Can they help Princess Safia? What will come of Declan’s family back in Ireland? Will he and Kara find a middle ground from which to work?

Medical romance starring Declan Underwood and Kara Stephens. They met at a Hospital ball, and Kara kissed him. He was hot, she was lonely, and they would never see each other again, right? Wrong. Both are now working together to help save a Princess that was severely burned in an auto accident. Their past catches up with them in more ways than one and both characters have strong personalities. This is an enjoyable read by Louisa George. 4 out of 4 stars.

Kara and Declan are great characters. They both have backgrounds that influence their futures and their emotions. It's a fun ride watching them figure out how to work--and play--with each other. A good read!

The Shameless Maverick

Everyone has scars from their past. It's how they live in the present is how well they healed. Here are two such people. Each with deep hurting scars that cloud the way they react when true love faces them.

I won the four (2-in-1) paperback books from Lynne Marshall giveaway. Thank you so much.

How things that happen in a person's past, whether of their own making or someone else or an accident, can and may affect how a person live from then on. An in depth, moving, emotional story that pulls you in in places throughout and the battle that is going on within the main characters.

A well-written, meaningful, realistic read. ***Recommend***

It was okay, a quick and easy read, I just wish it had more action with the medical part of the book instead of focusing on all the romance.
