Love doesn’t always bloom in the sunlight. Sometimes, it takes a storm.

After a messy divorce and years of raising her niece and nephew, Iris is finally content. She has her spreadsheets, her chickens, and a cozy cottage that never lets her down. Romance? Hard pass—she’s trying to grow a garden, not feelings.
Vince is the charming, quick-witted nursery owner down the street, still quietly grieving the loss of his wife while raising his daughter and keeping the family business alive.
He intends to keep his distance.
He really does.
He doesn’t plan to talk too long when Iris wanders into his nursery asking about plants.
He definitely doesn’t expect her to crash-land at his feet after a botched morning run.
And he absolutely doesn’t mean to offer her shelter when a hurricane barrels toward town.
But when it comes to Iris, Vince keeps doing the opposite of what he means to—again, and again, and again.
Their attraction is undeniable. So is their stubbornness.
Between meddling relatives, a storm that refuses to stay in its lane, one kiss too many, and a very unexpected pregnancy, Iris and Vince find themselves tangled in more than just vines and garden soil.
They resist it.
They push back.

But love doesn’t need perfect conditions to bloom—just the right person.

I’ve been reading a lot of lighter romances lately and Magic at Midnight fits into this category. A shorter read, under 300 pages and not too drama filled and complex. It’s the kind of book that perfect to travel with or quick to read on vacation. Both characters may not be looking for love and relationship initially, but they are drawn to each other. Iris is moving on with her life after a divorce and Vince as a widowed, single dad. Iris and Vince have great banter exchanging “dad jokes” and bad puns. There were some funny scenes that I found myself chuckling out loud at. One being when Iris ran out of the shower from being surprised by a couple of visitors nibbling at her feet. And the grandma was a great comedic addition to the story. Overall, I enjoyed this story and hope there’s more from this author in the future.

Once I picked up this book I couldn't put it down. I found Vince and Iris story so beautiful and funny at times. Both MCs went through so much and to see them find eachother and heal was so sweet. Unexpected pregnancy tropes aren't usually my thing, but the way it was written in this book kept me invested in the characters and where their story will go.

I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to read more from this author 🤗.

I could not put this book down. The characters felt so real and their trauma so powerful and accurate. The pull they each felt was electrifying and I fell in love right along with them. Highly recommend to 18+ women who enjoy hot and steamy romance!

The storyline was very engaging and kept my attention. I found myself laughing out loud at Peanut's nickname and the ferrets outfits. Ariana is so good at descriptive writing that it plays out like a movie in your head as you read. I loved witnessing Iris and Vince's relationship bloom.

I have never wanted to enter a book so badly just to snack the MMC and WMC so badly and just yell at them! I loved this book so much it was so hard to put it down! Iris and Vince both suffered from the same trauma just from different ends. Iris’s sister passed away leaving behind her twins and iris of course takes them in and her POS husband forces her to choose between them or him. Of course she chose the kids and now lives comfortably in a small cottage with her chickens. The twins are now in college and her niece wants her to get out there and meet someone and get lots of O’s 🤣. Iris is unsure about that but decided to go to the local nursery and start a garden.
In comes Vince. Vince owns the nursery but has noticed iris long before she showed up for plants. He noticed an angel jogging by his place every morning so he rearranged his morning routine to be outside on his porch drinking coffee just to get a glimpse of her. Vince lost his wife 10 years ago due to cancer and the pregnancy but he was gifted his sweet wild child little girl. He closed himself off from any romantic relationships to respect his late wife and daughter but when he sees Iris all bets are off!
This book is a slow burn, infuriating, sobbing, wtf are you doing just grab her and kiss her already type of book. I loved every minute of it and it will forever be in my cycle of rereads list. Ariana Erazo you are amazing and I hope to read more of your books!

This was a super cute story with second chances at love and found family! Vince was a bit of a red flag for me, here and there, but you could ultimately see he was a good guy and tell that he was still struggling from such a massive loss in his life. I think him and Iris balance each other out well as she did not just sit back and take it when he would get upset. There was definitely a good bit of yummy spice in here, as well. Favorite character is definitely Gammy, she's a little spitfire and I love it!

I loved Iris and Vince’s story so much. I was laughing right away during this book because of the funny chicken names and the description of Iris in the first chapter.

Here are some of the tropes I found in the book:

🌺 Forced Proximity
🌺 Small Town
🌺 Single Dad
🌺 Found Family
🌺 Accidental Pregnancy
🌺 Slow Burn
🌺 Grumpy MMC

I loved Vince in all his grumpiness along with his whole inappropriate family.

I sped read this book it seems like. It was just that good. I couldn't put it down. Vince and Iris have both been dealt some form of trauma in the past. Vince is such a grumpy pants at first. Iris is wonderful and so funny. Their banter is swoon-worthy and hilarious at times. A storm forces them together and shew what a whirlwind of a romance it is. I loved the characters, the plot, the spice, the healing, and the found family aspect. Such a beautifully chaotic story!

This was entertaining, to say the least.

We have Vincent a widowed single dad who works as a gardener at his family business, he is obsessed with Iris his neighbor. She is beautiful, and charismatic and takes care of her niece and nephew who lost their parents.

These two have their issues when it comes to love, but they both come together in fun and strange circumstances.

This book was given to me by the author as an ARC. Thanks for the opportunity. My opinion is voluntary.

Magic at Midnight pulled me in from the first page—I read it in one sitting! Vince and Iris’s slow-burn romance is full of heart, heat, and a beautifully messy journey. The found family element adds so much richness, and Gammy? Absolutely hilarious. Every character brought something to love.

This story balances warmth, tension, and humor so well. Highly recommend for fans of slow-burn love, big feelings, and unforgettable side characters.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ BOOK REVIEW
Magic at Midnight by Ariana Erazo

Love doesn’t always bloom in the sunlight… sometimes it shows up with chickens, spreadsheets, and a category 5 storm of emotions. 🌪️🐓🌸

This book took me by surprise in the BEST way! Iris is the kind of heroine you instantly root for—strong, selfless, and just trying to keep her peace (and poultry) intact after a messy past. But then VINCE walks in… the hot, plant-daddy widower with a soft heart, smoldering looks, and the emotional damage to match hers.

Let’s just say when their worlds collide (literally—hello hurricane), the tension? Off. The. Charts.
✨ Forced proximity
✨ Slow-burn goodness
✨ One too many kisses
✨ Surprise pregnancy twist (and it works so well)
✨ Found family + meddling relatives

It’s cozy. It’s chaotic. It’s emotionally raw and SO. DANG. ROMANTIC.
Vince might be grieving, but he still manages to show up with that “make no mistake—you’re mine” energy that had me MELTING. 🫠

This is a story about second chances, healing, and how love sometimes plants its roots in the middle of a storm—and grows stronger for it. An absolute must-read.

5/5 stars I absolutely loved the buildup with this book. I was laughing out loud at some parts. The only companions the FMC wants is her chickens. Messy divorce. Both FMC and MMC are broken but you never know where love will find you. FMC trying to be independent living on her own after the twin niece and nephew that she raised the last part of their childhoods moved out. Light stalking where the MMC likes watching her. I absolutely love him! Overall this was an amazing read where you can cozy up into a blanket and tear up and smile and feel all the feelings! -Kerin Ray

Loved this small town romance between Iris who is a divorced woman who lives alone with her chickens (loves their names, because who names chickens after alcohol) and Vince who is a grumpy , widowed, single dad whose wife passed away from Cancer and a family that will have you laughing all the time, especially Gammy.
This is a cute summer read that I recommend checking out.

Vince and Iris' story was beautiful. Both MCs had experienced so much loss and heartbreak and to see them find each other and get their happily ever after was so satisfying. Their friends to lovers arc was organic and the chemistry between them was felt on every page. If you're looking for a short, sweet and sexy story, this is a book for you.

Ariana's descriptive writing is phenomenal here. The banter and chicken situations were so good, I was laughing and giggling throughout.
Iris and Vince both had their own respective traumas, which they had to work through, but the build-up of this story, the characters, and the dynamics were great.
A fun, quick, easy read that had me engrossed from the beginning.

Magic at Midnight is a delightfully sweet, easy read full of wonderful characters that had me smiling almost constantly. This family is so genuine and kind to each other and I immediately fell for them.

Vince is still heartbroken after the loss of his wife, but when he meets Iris he knows that something is different. For Iris, her divorce has made her question everything she thought she knew about men and relationships. When Iris literally falls right into Vince's path, they both know that things are different that anything they could have expected. Their chemistry has sparks flying as they develop a beautiful friendship that leads to more.

The journey Vince and Iris go on to overcome the wounds of their past is truly magical and I swooned the whole way despite both of them trying to protect themselves due to the pain of their pasts. This story had so many beautifully sweet moments sprinkled in that it was just such a wholesome and lovable story with truly wonderful characters.

I received a copy of this for my honest review

In this romance novella our FMC lives alone with her dog and chickens. She's rebuilding her life 4 years post divorce, and her niece wants her to go and be social. So she decided to go to the local nursery and gets some plants. Our MMC and his family own the nursery, and he has noticed his neighbor on her morning runs. When she shows up when they are closed, he just shows her around and helps her find plants. He is a widow with a 9 year old daughter - and has told himself that he had the love of his life with his wife, and doesn't deserve more. But when she goes running and wipes out in front of his house, their budding, something, blooms. But when one night results in an unexpected pregnancy - they both are forced to face their pasts to see what is ahead for their future.

𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 is a truly entertaining debut novel by Ariana Erazo, featuring a slow burn, neighbors to lovers romance for Iris and Vince that takes the readers on an emotional and funny journey to finding love again after loss and/or betrayal. I loved every minute of the awkwardness, the chemistry, the longing, the hilarious meddling family on both sides, the funny animal moments, and the authenticity in the heartbreaking backstories sure to touch your heart. Everything was woven together smoothy, and all the characters were so compelling! I am a sucker for solid found family vibes, and this book had these in spades… from Iris’s priceless bond with Dax and Daisy (her niece and nephew), to Vince’s adorable daughter and irresistible extended family! It’s honestly hard to believe this was a debut! I can’t wait to see what happen’s in Daisy’s story next!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 stars)

I was looking for something light and fun, and Magic at Midnight delivered exactly that. The story blends romance with just the right touch of humor, making it an easy and enjoyable read. The characters are likable and easy to root for, and Vince's family is a fun, supportive group. The setting (and the chickens) adds charm. I’m especially excited to read more about Daisy and Spencer in book 2—can’t wait to see where their story goes!

This was a cute romance read, but found it sort of cheesy at times and the story felt rushed. It follows Iris who is divorced and Vince whose wife passed from cancer. Iris and Vince are neighbors and take a liking in each other when Iris comes to buy plants from Vince’s plant nursery. I loved how Vince talks about Iris and clearly loved her, but again. The story felt sort of cheesy and felt too rushed. It felt like it had more potential, but still a cute romance read!
