Easton Island is the continuing saga of one woman’s journey from incredible loss to finding a past she knew nothing about, including a family who both embraces and fears her and a charming island that draws her in.
“An inspirational women’s fiction series for lovers of family sagas, friendship, mysteries, and clean romance!”
Ms. Callaghan addresses family secrets and old grudges in a positive way. A secret comes to light during a blizzard that brings old enemies to the homestead. Does the family take the high ground and provide shelter or let the hurts of the past rule current decisions? Lots of Christmas decor detail, bits of romance and humor, great little Christmas uplift.
Easton Island (Lake Huron, Michigan) is the most magical place of the planet. It’s full of hopes and dreams and people who love you for who you are. Excellent description of Old Fashion Christmas (Book 14 ) in the Easton Island Family Saga Series. A feel good, page turning holiday read, that made this reader reminisce Christmas, the 1978 Michigan Blizzard, and a handful of familiar sayings: Time heals all wounds. The magic of the season through a child’s eyes. My favorites: Old age isn’t for the faint of heart. We’ll be as snug as bugs in a rug. Plus inclusion of perception of meteorologists.
Hope Callaghan’s writing style includes a character list and tidbits in Chapter 1 that refreshed this reader memory of past events in the series. As a retired reader, who at times has a limited attention span, I enjoy Callaghan’s writing style: short paragraphs, with just enough description and dialog to keep the mystery moving.
The descriptive passages in this story reminded me of a good OLD Fashion Christmas – the stockings hanging by the fire with care, the twinkling star on top of the tree, decorations around every corner and in every room, the holiday table set with Bohemia crystal, Reed & Barton sterling silver, and Spode Christmas place settings, and a tasty international Christmas dinner of tourtiere, aebleskivers, Yooper pasties, Key West shrimp and key lime pie, and the traditions of Christmas Pudding (recipe included).
Hope Callaghan writes the most amazing stories, she is a true story teller. Easton Island: Old Fashioned Christmas is a truly wonderful read. I love that there is always a bit of mystery in every one of Hope's books and Old Fashioned Christmas is no exception. The mystery in this Easton saga really blew me away. I had no idea that this would be another great turn of events for the Easton Family. I always enjoy people we read about from other series Hope writes, crossing over and being included in the plot of the story in another book. In this book the Wynn's from Machinaw Island make an appearance in this story. There are lots of exciting things happening this Christmas at Easton Island. I will not give anything away but if you have read any of the last thirteen books about Morgan, Brett, Grandmother Elizabeth, Chester, Ronni, and the other important characters, you will definitely enjoy this wonderful Christmas story. I will leave one hint, just like at the first Christmas, the celebration of Jesus birth, the Easton family has a surprise child in their midst. Happy Reading and Merry Christmas!!
I love Hope's books. In fact, there hasn't been one I've even been so-so about enjoying - they're all terrific! I like that she incorporates Christianity into her books, but not so strongly that they're not enjoyable to nonbelievers. The Easton family saga continued in this read with all the characters we love. Brett was a pretty big subject in this one once a surprise was presented to him. It may change his relationship status with Quinn, but I know that ultimately they'll be ok. Morgan's boyfriend Wyatt was only briefly mentioned, but Naomi (Grandmother Elizabeth's arch nemesis) made an appearance... quite an appearance. Can't wait until the next book, "Son Shine" is released, but that won't be until October 26, 2026.
Another beautiful story of Easton Island! Hope Callahan is an excellent author! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this story of their Christmas celebration! The descriptions of the Christmas trees at each home made me feel like I could see it all!
Brett has told Elizabeth & Morgan that he plans on asking Quinn to marry him. Quinn is thrilled for her best friend & promises to keep his secret.
A bad blizzard is headed their way so Morgan & Ronnie help get their guests packed & to the ferry to take them to the Mainland. The power is going out all over town but the Easton Estate has plenty of generators to keep things warm. Morgan heads back to Looking Glass Cottage to get Chester & her overnight bag to head to the Estate.
So many guests will be at her grandmother’s home! It will be an interesting Christmas Eve for sure!
It was to visit Easton Island again. I loved that David Wynne, and Harlow visited, I hope there is a book on how their Christmas went. I seriously wish the next book could be released before October of 2026. I really wish there could have been 5 more chapter in this book. I would still be disappointed in having to wait a year for the next book.
What a delightful Christmas tale! Just as everyone is preparing celebrations, a big snowstorm bears down on the island! Changes are afoot! I never tire of these complex characters and their interactions. Nicely plotted and beautifully written, this one is a sure winner. Highly Recommended! I’m eagerly looking forward to Ms. Callaghan’s next work!
As usual, Ms. Callaghan has come up with the perfect Christmas book. Is Easton Island book is perfect. I’ve loved these books since the beginning and will continue to do so.(although it looks like the next book is gonna be a year away!) In this episode we deal with a snowbound Christmas, full houses, new people-in more ways than one, old and new things abound! All in all the way the book ended up was a treat to read. At least it wasn’t book 13! I can’t wait for the next one. Hopefully it’ll be less than a year away! 🤣
A massive snowstorm, a prank caller,, unexpected guests, and more unexpected guests, old enemies, wonderful friends. And most importantly, family. This Christmas will take the Easton family by storm. A wonderful family saga, heartwarming, tender, wholesome, and still full of surprises.
I love a Christmas book and I love a happy ending, and this one didn’t disappoint on either count. I’d love to see the decorations, but my imagination took me to Easton Island at Christmas. New readers, this is a great series, go back to the beginning and read them all.
I love this series! Fun quick read - always a bit of a mystery and wonderful characters that you follow through the series. Themes are family, friendship, love as well as some sadness- life happenings.
This series is a favorite of mine and am excited to read what happens next. Surprised to experience a snow blizzard but more surprised by an unexpected visitor. Of course the Easton family handles it all with grave and dignity.
The next adventure for Morgan and the Easton family. A heart warming Christmas story, but with sufficient vinegar to avoid being sappy. As with others in the series, you would do well to read the stories in order.
The Easton Family is one of the best series of books!!! This book will capture your heart and leave with a warm fuzzy happiness!!! I can't wait for the next book!!! Thank you Hope Callaghan! You always knock it out of the park! One of my most favorite authors!!!
I loved every minute of this story! The ending was wonderful as well and Morgan had such a special connection to Triston. Unfortunately, at least one nemesis reverted back to her true colors even in the face of true hospitality.
Another great story By hope Loved all the different things that were happening in this story. I just didn't like the ending I know there's more to come in the next book looking forward to that one
The Easton Saga is getting more exciting with the new addition. Of course the family will hug Tristan, this is a family filled with love and emotions going through every challenges.
While the islanders are preparing for a blizzard of epic proportions on Christmas eve strangers as well as friends and a foe spend the night at Easton Estate. Expect a surprise or two in the latest book in this series.
Well, Hope did it again!! Another masterpiece! All I can say is the characters come alive and you can seriously see yourself right there with them! Only downside is I read them way to fast!! I want them to go on and on! Can't wait for the next book!!
I loved how the Florida friends got their first reaction to a blizzard. The man and child arriving was quite a shocking thing for the family. This is totally believable, as this sort of thing really does happen in real life.
I have loved this whole series, but I think Old-Fashioned Christmas is one of my favorites. There are always unexpected twists and turns. I can't wait for the next book!
Again I thoroughly enjoyed Hope's Old-Fashioned Christmas. She has a way of drawing you into the story just like you were there. In fact I had to look outside a few times to see if it was snowing here. I just couldn't put it down. Thanks Hope.
A great story line but maybe a bit short, I really wanted more. I love each of your series and am always waiting for the next one for some light, but fun reading
Great story about Christmas. old fashion Christmas alone with snow blizzard and other surprises. Past history brought to present day both good and bad.
I have fallen in love with the Easton family and the dynamics they bring. I loved this book with Christmas so close and who doesn't like a little happiness
