I received a free copy of VEYRON through Goodreads First Reads. Although the story keep me reading through to the end, it didn't reel me in like the books I like best do. I haven't entirely figured out why this is the case, although I think one of the problems was the bare bones prose that lacked in-depth descriptions of local color I enjoy. I also found some aspects of the story unrealistic. Such an event would have been unlikely to be allowed in a national park, for example, but would likely have had someone following along by either helicopter or at least a highway vehicle escort.

Was an interesting read, but I think it would have helped if I would have read GOLDPLAY first. So, with that said I would recommend VEYRON to everyone who has or will be reading GOLDPLAY. So that someone else can enjoy this I will be paying it forward as I do with most my GoodReads win and give this to a friend to enjoy.

This is the sequel to the book by author Roger Scouton: Goldplay. It was an enjoyable easy read. The book is about Jack Fields and Amber Reyes as they are hired to observe the security measures taken for a road rally. Sounds simple right? Wrong! Things quickly escalate as Jack and Amber find themselves fighting for their lives in a quest to find the killers.
