Bahama Drama
Maya’s love life is in shambles after her boyfriend unexpectedly broke up with her. She needs to get her mind off her ex, and what better way to do that than going on a tropical vacation with your besties. Oh, where do I even begin with Bahama Drama? After a string of incredibly intense and often dark reads, my heart truly yearned for something lighter, something that would just make me smile, and Lia Duchaine delivered that in spades. This book wasn't just a read; it was a much-needed breath of fresh, salty air, a pure infusion of lighthearted fun, and romance that settled deep into my soul. ✨
From the very first page, I was captivated. Bahama Drama is so beautifully written, with prose that just flows effortlessly, painting vivid pictures of sun-drenched beaches and vibrant island life. Jax and Maya will have you laughing and swooning throughout this lighthearted summer romance. Not only are the main characters amazing, but both of them have a group of friends on the adventure with them who keep you on your toes and wanting to go on more adventures. I hope there’s more to come from this group of friends! This is the perfect summer read!

Where do I even star with Bahama Drama. This summer or vacation read is just a perfect read. It had me giggling, gasping and putting a smile of my face. I absolutely loved how Lia Duchaine delivered this romance with comedy and that swoon worthy romance.
I was absolutely captivated from the beginning. This novel is beautifully written and perfectly discribed the pictures of the beaches. I felt like I was pulled into the book and was another girl in this trip! I honestly got mad at my life for making me have to pause the book because I wanted to keep reading it.
The characters were so relatable and the flitring was adorable. Now the side characters I loved and hope i get to read all of their stories as well. Those girlfriends - I need them in my life cause they are ride or dies and I love it. The spicy moments are overpowering the story and are juse enough that it adds spice without it taking over and being too much.
What a quick, easy read- you definatly wond regret piucking this one up. If you nee that adorable rom-com roamnce that just is uplifting and fun to read, pick this one up. You won't regret it- I know I didn't... I literally had so much fun reading this one and cannot rave about it enough! I am so gratfuly that I found this indie author and picked up her book.... This book was such a fun read! The characters became so real that I felt like I gained new girlfriends along the way. The author had me in stitches throughout the entire novel with the quirky scenes, the hilarious one-liners, and the personalities that shined through the pages. Bahama Drama is an extremely cute, semi low drama vacation love story that delivers exactly what it promises: a little sunshine, a lot of flirtation, and a main character you can’t help but root for. Felt like a mini vacation without the airport drama. The chemistry between Maya and Jax had me grinning the whole way through.
It’s light without being fluffy, romantic without being over the top, and just the kind of book you want to bring to the beach (or wish you had while you’re stuck at home). I flew through it and already can’t wait for her next read.

Super cute read and perfect summer vibes. I enjoyed the fun positive vibes of the book. Jax and Maya share an instant spark while both on vacation in you guest it the Bahamas! They are both enjoyable characters and I enjoyed following along on their vacation adventures. Both of the friends groups are fun and adventurous and make for some fun scenes. Love the idea of a vacation bucket list and this list does not disappoint. Also love the petty moments for a certain someone that take place through the story. The epilogue chapters help wrapped up the real world side of the romance.
I will be honest I’m not the biggest fan of closed door spice and that is the only reason that I couldn’t give this book five stars.
I would recommend this to people who enjoy a good rom-com story. Looking forward to the next book in the series!

Jax is on his way to the Bahamas for his sister's wedding. He's planning on staying for 2 weeks with his brother and best friend. When Maya and her friends crash his sisters reception, sparks fly. There is an immediate connection between them.
For the next 2 weeks they hang out, along with their friends.
A mix up leads to Maya flying home without saying goodbye, but don't worry, Jax pulls out all the stops to get her back!
This was a fun, closed door romance that I thoroughly enjoyed!

absolutely LOVED Bahama Drama and couldn’t put it down! As soon as we find Jax, the hunky surfer MMC, secretly (and unbeknownst to him) listening to Maya’s, our FMC, Spotify Boy Band playlist…. I was a goner for these two! I laughed and smiled throughout! The vibes and personalities of the characters on their own and as an overall group were all perfection - I’m eager and excited to read the other books by Lia so I can jump back in with characters I fell in love with! The spice is there but it’s not in your face and doesn’t overwhelm the storyline… my favorite kind! I’m gonna be a diehard Lia Duchaine fan after this book!

This was a cute simple romance about a group of friends who go on a girls trip and meet some boys. Some romance develops and friendships are made! I enjoyed this but would have liked a deeper back story to the characters - it did feel more surface level. On the bright side it does make me want to start planning my next girls trip!!

Debut novel Bahama Drama, by Lia Duchaine was the sweetest most perfect summer escape romance/romcom novel for me and I’m STILL SMILING! Something about its simplistic yet vibrant beach cover and book title to the enticing synopsis instantly pulled me in, and I just KNEW I was going to soak up all the sunshine living vicariously through everyone’s adventures!
Maya (who despite her raw feelings after being dumped by her boyfriend) is awakened and ready to explore new risks and opportunities while vacationing with her best friends. Will the instant connection she and Jax make be a summer fling or lead into something more? This story is so creative, relatable, and pays so much attention to the little details that make a story truly memorable and special—The humor, close friendships, the bucket list theme being the perfect catalyst for all the fun and frolicking at the resort and on the beach, the thoughtful and meaningful gestures, the banter and romance. And just enough conflict and tension in the plot to hold a reader’s attention!
The main characters, Maya and Jax are delightful, and I want them to live on. It’s my hope that this OUTSTANDING debut leads to a successful series. If you enjoy a HEA like I do, you won’t want to pass up this bit of sunshine. ☀️

This is such a sweet read! Bahama Drama by Lia Duchaine will have you wishing you were in the summer sun in the Bahamas. The descriptive writing of the resort and the novella itself, really takes the reader into the setting. The novella has a dual POV, Maya and Jax..both vacationing in the Bahamas at an all inclusive resort. Maya is on a girls trip and Jax is going to his sister's wedding.
One element I loved and would want to do is the pig excursion at Pig Beach. It sounded so cute and unique. I also loved both Maya and Jax 💗

I had the privilege of reading Bahama Drama by Lia Duchaine, and this was such a fun read — I flew through it in one day! I loved the humor, the banter, and the heart between Jax and Maya — their romance was a joy to watch unfold. This book is so cute! I fell in love with the entire friend group, and I found myself wishing I was on their trip to the Bahamas, too. It was the perfect fun read. I was team Maya and Jax from their first meeting. I hope we see more of these friends in future books!
