As predicted in my review of the first installment of this book I had completely forgotten the characters and plot. It only took a few pages for me to come up to speed though. I do appreciate that the author did not spend pages rehashing the first installment. I enjoyed the story and I'd rate the entire story at 4.25 - 4.5 stars. Taken individually the parts can't be rated nearly as high. Both installments are short and combined it is a short novel. Anyone who wants to read the story will need both parts available. I still think the parts should be combined and published as a whole.
This was quite an interesting read. Although I did enjoy it, I wish it had a bit more of a story line. There was a lot of sex. I mean A LOT. That was great, however, I would have loved to gotten to know the characters a bit more. Especially the bad boy Nikolai. I wanted to learn a bit more about his background and why he did the things he did.
College student Lauren is taken and held hostage by a ruthless enforcer of a Russian organized crime family. The unexpected and explosive attraction takes hold of both captive and captor. Lauren and Nikolai are from two completely different worlds but cannot stop their intensely erotic relationship. Can their relationship go anywhere? You must read to find out!
This is the conclusion to Defiled. Lauren is back home & nothing seems right without Nikolai, she cannot stop thinking & daydreaming about him. He calls her a few times late at night & has come into her bedroom while she is sleeping to have sex & then leave. Her Father sets her up with an up & coming politician who is nice but boring & does not excite her like Nikolai does. Nikolai calls her & tells her that Anatoly has forbid him from seeing her & that she should move on with her life. She tries her best to move on even though she can sense that she is being watched & she knows it's Nikolai. I loved Nikolai & I thought he was so sweet when he found her in Paris & I absolutely loved the epilogue.
Lauren is trying to live her life without Niko, but that isn't so easy when he is stalking her and sneaking into her home in the middle of the night. Then there's the up and coming politician her father would like to make a match with her. Yeah right, not when she's still hung up on her Russian. But can she live with the man he is and the things he has done both to her and others? I really liked how the author ended their story. It was definitely a surprise ending.
Omg I cried thru this book it's so emotional. This is part 2 in this series. Nikoli is such an alpha he certainly didn't take any prisoners in this book. Lauren becomes so much stronger in herself. You must read these book the author has brought her A game in this I didn't know if I wanted to be angry or cry. Really can't fault this book.
