the picture on the book cover is a little misleading.. from the description of the mc, that is not what I saw .. but if you enjoyed books like all creatures great and small, or where the red fern grows..and its also about racism. building community, finding/making friends in a new place.

Loved it

A fun take on a fantasy novel. Well written with many laugh out loud moments. A story about human nature, belonging and compassion.

A former adventurer retires to the city to open a "pet shop" for magical beasts.

I definitely recommend reading. Very enjoyable.
