This is a good book to learn how to use color pencils, and especially watercolor pencils. The book is filled with exercises demonstrating various techniques, and each successive exercise builds on the ones that came before.

The author gives you almost a step-by-step guide for each exercise, and that "almost" was maddening. I kept having to figure out the steps leading to where I was, and that's why I gave this only four stars. I could have done with one less exercise, if it meant so many steps wouldn't be left out.

I went through the entire book, and finished feeling I knew so much more about using my watercolor pencils than before starting, and that is why this book "almost" got five stars.
