When Gloria Williams agrees to conduct an amateur community choir in Brahms’ Requiem, she’s braced for missed entrances, wandering tempos, and bruised egos—not a body at the base of the church bell tower. The victim was a beloved fixture in town, universally admired. So who would want him dead?
With help from fellow Dog Ladies Priya Visser and Ryan Hsia (and their pack of inquisitive dogs, of course), Gloria soon senses the discord at work in Verdin Springs. Old grudges resurface and buried secrets crescendo, and the Dog Ladies must sniff out more than one sour note in their choir of misfits.
Once again, the trio teams up with Detective Holly Garcia to uncover the killer who turned a sacred rehearsal into a deadly finale.
Murder, She Sangis a fast, fun mystery full of twists, found family, and lots of canine antics.

I'm rating this as four stars because it's enjoyable as a cozy mystery. It has forgivable issues that might otherwise make it three stars. I really like the fact that the Dog Ladies stories don't rely on a young woman inheriting a bakery/guest house/coffee shop/bookstore to get the story started. The characters are a well-drawn mix of older people and mid-range adults with all their different concerns. The personalities and idiosyncracies are portrayed in a realistic, entertaining, sympathetic way. Also, I like how the dog characters are done. We get some of their inner thoughts, and they are dog like, not snarky human or toddler. In this installment of the series, I had trouble with how the police character, Holly, was unreasonably angry and rude for much of the book. The mystery itself was a little bit tedious. But overall, I do look forward to book 3 of the Dog Ladies.
A binge-able series that, sadly, I'm all caught up on and impatiently waiting for the third book to come out sometime later this year (fingers crossed.) A unique approach to a cozy mystery because the reader knows who the killer is right from the start. You'd think that would take all the fun out of a whodunnit but it really doesn't. I was just as engaged watching our 'dog ladies' interpret clues, interview suspects and follow the killer's trail with all of their quirky enthusiasm and a wee bit of bickering this time round. And there are multiple plot twists to keep things fresh. We even get the occasional canine POV. Brilliantly funny, but emotional too with great found family vibes. One for the keeper shelf as I will definitely revisit this book in my reading future.
These books get better and better! I adore the characters and their quirks! I think it’s so fun that the murderer is revealed early on and you get to watch the characters get to figure it all out. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite series.
I absolutely love this series. Favorite one by the author yet. The dog ladies are a hilarious and loving, haphazard group of friends who solve crime. The series is light hearted by still exploring deep nuances of growing old, mental health, friendship, self growth and discovery and of course; mystery!
This author knows how to tell a story. She keeps you laughing but still surprised at the ending. I love the Dog Ladies (and guy) plus the dogs have character too! Will always read this series, hope there's more to come.
Fun book to read. There were times when I wondered if the author knew me. She made growing old really fun and yet very true. The dogs became an important part of the book. I hope my favorite dog, a mini-Schnauzer gets invited to join the group. I am anxious to read book 3.
This was better than the first one in the series. The characters have been developed more. This was very funny, and I have grown very fond of the ladies and Ryan. Thank you, I enjoyed this very much.
I found the first book more light-hearted than this one. There were more serious notes regarding aging and mental illness in this one. Still, it's always nice to find out what The Dog Ladies have gotten themselves mixed up in!
Loved the way this followed the clues, and the growth of the dog ladies. Holly was fantastic now as a detective she is wonderful the reveal was done realy well I loved the first book but this was even better
Love all the characters. They seem so real. The author makes sure to dot every i and cross every t. No unanswered questions. The story is joyful, pleasant, humorous, mysterious, with a twist of romance. Love them.
4.5 ⭐️ Agh, I just love these characters so much! This wasn't QUITE as good as the first of the series, but I still really loved it, and the mystery was good!
The second book in this series was good. It had funny parts and also showed how they all stick together and are there for one another. Also it was a quick read.
Amazing book! Its not just a cozy mystery its about aging, friendship and community. The end has a great twist you won't see coming. I can't wait for book 3 😍
This series is becoming a favorite. I am looking forward to their next adventure. The characters in the book are wacky, smart, and funny. And it’s always a treat to get the dogs’ perspectives.
