People in difficult situations sometimes have to take drastic action, which was how business graduate, Alina Florian, found herself sitting with a group of other pretty young women, all waiting in a sports hall in her home town of Bucharest for the chance to be interviewed as a candidate for a modeling agency. She understands all too well what “modeling” might entail, but right now she’s too desperate to be choosy. What she doesn’t expect is the offer to become the wife, and full time Dominatrix, of English inventor and millionaire, Charles Waddington. The deal she’s offered is simple; five years of her life in exchange for financial security forever for Alina and her family.
It's quite an interesting story about how love can unfold and develop from the most unlikely circumstances. And likewise with a sexual, BDSM relationship.
It has its fair share of sex scenes. They're not overly hardcore or anything, and for the most part the femdom seems to shine through in ways of orgasm denial, humiliation, manipulation, and similar. So if that sounds appealing, then this book has it aplenty.
I wasn't too satisfied with the ending though. I didn't feel everything got wrapped up. Instead the story just sort of drifts out. I would have loved to read more about Linda. That was arguably the best part of the whole story. Very well-written.
Charles was also a weird character. He's difficult to connect with, because he basically just exists as the manifestation of Alina's femdom and love. As himself, he's nobody. And I can't help thinking the story would have been more interesting had it been told a bit from his perspective too, if only to give his character more depth.
But all in all a solid, extremely well-written story. Definitely not my last book by Stanley Jeffries.
