It's another self help book with a certain number of precetps by which to live one's life in order to obtain whatever. There are some interesting points to it, but basically it is a sales pitch for the author's make-yourself-better-through-positive-thinking company.

TL;DR: Bassham discovers Stoicism.

While I'm a fan of Bassham's more famous book, With Winning in Mind: The Mental Management System, and have read it many times by now, I was a little let down by this one. It's a little too Sunday-morning-cheap-suit-televangelisty for me.

“There is a plan to the drama of life but we are not the writers of the drama we are merely the actors. Our job is simply to act well and the play will be a success. Do you see that?” Jack said. “OK, I think I do. My job is not to try to direct events as much as it is to manage my own participation in the events. Is that right?” “Right! Your job is to connect with the plan based on what happens to you in life.

While I appreciated most of the legitimate lessons offered within Freedom Flight, I really was not a fan of the writing style. I think the book could have been put together in a number of ways that would serve to hook a reader in.

What does it take to be a Champion? What are the differences between a gold medalist and a silver medalist? What does a great athlete need in order to be a Champion?

Short book but are full of wisdom.

Good book and content, but see if you can buy a used copy or borrow it. It's 77 single-sided pages, and probably starts on page 19. I finished it start to finish in 40 mins on a Saturday morning waiting for the coffee to finish. It could be a 10 page pamphlet, but the content is useful.

9/10: super inspirational and emotional but in a good way; took me less than an hour to read but definitely got out of it more than i have gotten out of a lot of other books; one of those books that makes you rethink how you have been living!

Very easy read. Only took me around 2 hrs and I'm not even the fastest reader. Good content even though the way it was written could use some more editing. Practical and important learnings inside the book. 7.8/10.

Based on people from his life, Bassham presents how your mind can shape the outcome of events in your life if you are willing to work at it.

Very, very moving book. It is very light, story-like and it brings you step by step into a completely new world. It has power, it has emotion, and it has learned me a lot about myself, I ket reading until I finished it because it really made me actually not letting it go. Very good book, one of the best I read with quite a few good points. It's about simple truths but oh so important to know and realize, and with such help, they remain memorable.

Great reminder of how easy but hard it is to succeed with authenticity

Great reminder of how easy but hard it is to succeed with authenticity

A very quick and powerful read. One of the better and to the point stories on the power of the mind.
